This place will always be the one where we come back to make memories and revisit old ones. It's one of those feel good sit in the middle of angel watch the world go by kind of places and definitely appears on one of my favourite places.
Good quick meal with a variety of beers to choose from. Had a selection of starters that worked well. Service was quick and efficient but the place lacked a bit of atmosphere for lunch.
The York is one of the main pubs in Angel and it gets really full in the evenings and especially on weekends. It's a nice casual place that has a good selection of beers and ciders and serves pretty typic pub food. I tried their nachos and thought they were pretty average.
The service is pretty good, you order at the bar and they bring everything to your table and even when the place is really full you get your food pretty quickly. The prices are quite reasonable and although the food isn't great, this place has a great location, a nice atmosphere and a lot of space to sit outside.
pretty central, just close to Angel tube station: so if you are waiting for some friends for a night out, give a break here. Not many craft beers, rather a traditional pub with some pretty good tasting pale ales. Space outside is nice to linger on, in the spring time & just idlly watch the people passing by.
The York is always busy and has a very nice atmosphere. You can find all sorts of people in this traditional pub. it is a perfect place for afterwork or a pint in the evening. They have a large selection of different beers. This is just a nice place to hang out and catch the busy atmosphere of angel before going for dinner. I usually stop here after a busy day and have a good laugh with some friends. I am clearly not the only one to do so.
This pub in the very heart of Angel is definitely my favourite! WHat I especially like there is the outdoor tables facing the Vue Cinema and very close to lovely Camden Passage. I am used to going there to have drinks with my friends afterwork.

Having a quick one night tour of London including watching The Who last night at the O2. Have walked along the Regent's canal for 7 miles and now having a well earned pint and Aperol Spritz . Smart typical London pub always well presented with lovely flowers outside and pleasant staff....bit of a shock at £18.35 for our drinks and a packet of crisps and peanuts, but it's London!! Sat outside and people watched. Lovely area ....Angel Islington.....
A lovely pub near Angel tube station. We went in for a drink on our way back to the hotel on a Thursday evening, so it was very crowded and busy, but this didn't prevent us from enjoying a pint of Huntington's (seem to be their partner brewery) and a glass of cider. Bonus point : you can enjoy your drinks outside, they provide chairs and tables. Small update: food is excellent !! We tried fish and chips, sausages and mash and grilled chicken, dishes were tasteful and freshly made. Definitely one of our favorite place in Islington. Thank you
Large, single room corner pub, close to Angel Underground Station. Also a nice seating area out front.
Nicholson’s-owned, so a good selection of cask ales and craft beers, but fairly average pub grub. My London Pride was well kept.
Gets very busy after work but always plenty of staff, so easy to get served quickly. Staff were friendly and helpful too. Maybe better pubs in the area but a decent option.
Really good place to be. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Excellent food and drink - husband said it was the best pub meal he'd had in a very long time. A lovely experience
Such polite staff. Especially the lady serving us. Food was lovley! Definitely recommend.
The York is the pub we always use when visiting the 02. It can get busy but the staff are always friendly and efficient. The menu, while not extensive is what you would expect - "pub grub" and the food is always good and delivered with the minimum of delay no matter how busy the bar is. If I had to sum up The York in a single word - Reliable
Nice popular pub with plenty of outside seating, perfect for the summer. Located very close to Angel tube with a bus stop directly outside.
The main pub serves a good selection of beers, lagers and ales on tap. A smaller amount of seating inside than out, usually full.
Food looks good but I've only ever gone in for drinks. Service is quick and staff are friendly.
For those living in the area, I find the beers slightly more expensive than in other pubs nearby, nothing exorbitant either. The staff are friendly and efficient. There are rarely empty tables outside on some days of the week and times. This is a very popular and well-known pub in the area.
A great English pub! The staff was super nice and helpful. Everyone was able to find something they liked and my Dad had a great pint. This is a very popular place. So if you want to sit outside you might want to get there before everyone gets out of work.
Wow wow wow
As an Exec head chef/FDM myself, I can honestly say.
I came for the rugby on Sunday and decided to try one of their 5 plate platters between me and my Dad.
Not gonna lie guys, service and food were bloody fantastic.
First time in many years that I’ve said I’d come back and order the same thing again.
Thank you to ALL staff and management for a fantastic afternoon/evening.
I cannot praise you guys high enough.
