In our opinion its worth visiting Stratford just to visit this 'Fantastic' Café. It offers a wonderful selection of reasonably priced freshly cooked delicious quality food coffee and cakes. it is also licensed so you can have a glass of wine with your meal. the ambience is 'Second to None' at all times of the day whether your having Breakfast Lunch or Dinner and the staff are 'Amazing'. It gets a well deserved 'Five Stars' from us!

I have walked past this place countless times during the past few months and kept eyeing up all the delicious looking cakes through the window. I have finally had the oppotunity to visit with my friends yesterday and I was really impressed by the selection of mains, salads and desserts.
I love the Sawmill, really good home cooked healthy food (Delicious cakes aside) and the best coffee ever. The staff are all lovely and nothing is too much trouble. I would 100% recommended this place.

All our guests loved it, we’d been told it was some of the best wedding food they’d ever had.

Yummy! Thank you saw mill, best place I have found in Stratford for my lunch, everyone a work loves it too. Great Greek style side salad deal with your meal. This place wipes the floor with pret and eat, quality and value for money.
It is bigger from the inside. :) Dishes are made restaurant style. Portions thou surprisingly large. Very happy to find this place will go here often from now on. When one member of Rate My Bistro gave a surprise visit to the other, the only thing for it was to go out for cake and coffee! At last, we got to go to Sawmill Cafe together especially after one of us had been saying what a wonderful cafe it is and that it would easily become a favourite. So many cakes and sweet treats in sight are all displayed beautifully in the window. Savoury food such as wraps, pizza, quiches, pastas, soup and stews are all behind glass fronts. It is refreshing and greatly appreciated when cafes have their food covered or behind counters. To this day, we still don’t understand why eateries choose to have self service food rather than it being served. As you can probably tell, we prefer the latter as it is more hygienic.
Excellent little coffee shop. No one can walk past without stopping and staring through the window at the display of freshly baked cakes, tarts, and pies. The women who run this place are friendly and hard working, happy to help describe the cakes on offer. I recommend the red velvet and honey cakes in particular. Coffees are freshly ground and start from as little as 1.70. Lunch options are great with pizzas, pies, and fresh quiches. Get there early as seating is limited and quite tight. It's great to see a new local business doing so well and a sure sign that Stratford is on the up!
Very cheerful cafe, friendly staff, and a nice atmosphere. Coffee was good, and there's a couple of vegan options for breakfast. We had the vegan breakfast, tasty, although a little light on the protein front compared to the alternatives

Sawmill is an absolute gem! A rustic style cafe located in stratford, close to the centre, but far enough for a nice peacful atmosphere away from the bustle.
The food is delicious, my fave go to is the feta cheese and butternut squash quiche and fries. But they have an array of fresh pastries, and Eastern European dumplings that are very moorish. They have a bar for alcoholic becerages, and also make fresh juices for hangovers!
For me the service is one of the most important factors in choosing a regular spot, and this place is so welcoming and friendly. The customer service is always so amazing! As a regular I have come to know the team, Svetlana and Oolana. They make a mean flat white, and always are so cheerful and helpful. I always have a great start to the day when I grab my coffee from them at sawmill in the morning. The flat white is perfectly velvety, and the temperature just right (45- 52 degrees), as all coffee lovers know a flat white should be! The bean variety is Arabica and medium to dark roast. Its smooth and has dark undertones, and is absolutely delicious.
They have a large space to sit and be on your laptop, as well as plug spots. It is a charming space, and can be a spot to work or unwind. I definitly reccomend popping down for a coffee. Service is amazing here, thank you sawmill team for being so lovely!
The full breakfast was tasty and love the bacon, tried several cafes and this is the best full english breakfast we had. The pancakes were soft inside slightly crispy outside n the jam n almond flakes on top was perfect. Will definitely come eat again! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Friendly staff, amazing food, great place to have breakfast. We tried the English breakfast, the vegetarian breakfast and the vegan breakfast. They were all delicious.

First time trying Ukrainian food and it was amazing! I love pierogi now. I’ve seen the cakes and pastry and looking forward to trying that too. Great to have a nice relaxed cafe in this part of East London.
Lovely independent cafe with a great assortment of cakes and pastries. Interesting menu as includes some Ukrainian options. Dishes I've tried like pancakes and borscht are delicious and taste really home-made. Service can be a bit slow on busier days but the staff are extremely kind and helpful.
Sawmill is the spot!! I have been coming here for three years now and it’s amazing place to sit relax and have a great cup a coffee. Staff always so welcoming and nice. Honestly best coffee shop in East London.

Really cool looking Café. This place is a true gem in the entire area, which otherwise looks a bit grubby.
Good and fresh looking savoury sandwiches and sweet cakes. The staff were very friendly and served well to facilitate the high demand on a busy Saturday.
There’s rustic cute decor and fairy light trees across the place to give it a quirky look.
I had a mocha which was well made. Deffo a place visiting for brunch if you’re in the area.

Really tasty food! They can’t accommodate changes to food at weekends unfortunately so that was a bit disappointing as we wanted to swap fried for scrambled eggs. Lots of little ones the Saturday morning we visited - not a problem for us but worth knowing when visiting. Staff were sometimes friendly but a bit grumpy when we got in their way - which will happen when the chairs and tables are so close. Apart from this, really recommend! Especially the chai latte.
Hearty and tasty veggie breakfast at a reasonable inner London price (£10.10). Lovely, friendly service and a comfortable space with lots of plug outlets - a great place to work, study or catch up with friends!
We had a chai latte, a smoothie, a stew (goulash I think), and eggs royale. The drinks were great, would absolutely recommend both. The eggs were lovely, perfect for brunch. My friend said the goulash was nice but not particularly great, and he probably wouldn’t order it again. All in all a lovely place with great service and beautiful decor. Got quite busy as we got into the afternoon (Sunday), so potentially worth booking ahead. Would absolutely come back again
Tasted very good and nice atmosphere. Not busy for breakfast around 9. Coffee indeed very good, but the food as well. Service could be a bit better, because delivered drinks and food a few times wrong table and didn't put food correctly on table for the right person. But those are details and definitely deserves 4 stars. Good wifi as well!

Trendy Chic Cafe in Stratford. I think this cafe has the charisma and professional service to meet most peoples expectations. They serve breakfast and vegan options included, wonderful sweet pastries and delicious variety of cakes. The food is carefully placed by the large window so onlookers passing by get to see the treats inside. This is how they got me in through the door. Since then I've been visiting for around 4 years but oddly haven't reviewed it.
Cappuccino or Lattes they got the hot drinks and fruit juices everything reasonably priced. But your not just paying for the food, if you intend in hanging round, take a seat and immerse yourself is this beautiful designed cafe, its cosy and not so bright, but lit up with clever lighting which gives it a chic trendy vibe.
I would reccomend this cafe, im sure you'll enjoy it just as much as I do. Its also 10 minute walk from Stratford High Street and quieter end of Stratford.
