Great stop off for a drink after a day's shopping! Nice pub grub menu to fill your boots. Located In the heart of Mayfair in Shepherds market where there always seems to be hustle and bustle. It's a Mayfair pub but without the Mayfair price tag!
Amazing Bloody Mary's...with gin? And you can adjust how spicy or tangy you want.
The Market Tavern offers a huge variety of drinks and tasty british pub food, and a really friendly staff!
This is a very charming pub, amazing for large rambunctious groups ...even on a Sunday!
Would highly recommend!
Cozy and cute pub that has some seriously delicious food menu options and lovely attention to detail. Everything we ate was not only delicious but looked amazing. We stumbled in here during a bit of a lunch rush but the staff was so kind and very accommodating despite it all. I highly recommend the bangers and mash but honestly everything we had was prepared so well.
Absolutely delicious roast!
This is by far the best roast we’ve had for a long time. Great atmosphere, excellent service and good value.
We opted for the roast to share. It includes pork belly, half a chicken and beef that is cut to order. Mouth watering flavours. Very impressive.
Only one preference would be to have crispier potatoes but just a personal preference.
Thank you to Anna & Kama for the warm reception and excellent customer service. We will return for sure and we’ll bring friends!!
The roast to share and two glasses of Malbec totalled £75 including 10% service charge.
Great location, amazing food and fun atmosphere. We went on a Sunday for the roast and left happy and impressed. If you are in Mayfair you need to give this pub a shot!
Not a preplanned visit, but a casual 'walk-in' off the street. What a find, a great pint of Sharpes IPA, excellent food, halloumi fries & calamari starters followed by wild boar bangers'n'mash and a chicken'n'ham hock pie. Really good value, especially for the westend and brilliant service. Will happily go back again 😁👍
nice pub and drink selection. friendly and helpful staff. great cauliflower wings, good brownie, good fish&chips, ok burger, but struggled with getting steak to medium-rare (first served medium-well, then rare, then asked to put on grill a bit and still returned rare).
What a wonderful discovery this place was!
Searching for a tasty Sunday Roast in London can often be a real challenge, and as a vegetarian an ever bigger challenge!
However, this was perfect!
Super tasty meals, intimate, quiet, and most certainly off the well-trodden touristy areas of Piccaddily.
We had no reservation but the staff kindly found us a place so we could indulge ourselves.
Thoroughly recommend visiting!
The upstairs Chesterfield Room was the PERFECT spot for our all-day meeting. The room was set up exactly as we'd requested, complete with an easy-to-use projector, plenty of tap water, and a great tea and coffee selection including non-dairy milk. The food at lunchtime arrived perfectly on time with no errors and everyone in the group loved it. All the staff were so welcoming, friendly and fun, and were really keen to make sure we were happy. Thank you so much, we'll be back!
We hired the upstairs room for a private function. The whole experience from the first visit, the booking and the event was handled in a professional and friendly way and you made it very easy for me. The food was fabulous - very generous portions for a buffet. The drinks were set out exactly as we wanted them and the whole afternoon went perfectly.
We booked the upstairs Chesterfield Room for a hen party of about 20 people and had an absolutely fantastic time. Beforehand, Jared was excellent in his communication with us and made the planning process very easy. On the day we were brilliantly looked after by Jacob and Mohammed, thank you so much for your efforts looking after us. The room looked great and we were so pleased to be able to decorate with balloons, flowers, confetti and candles. Their easy going nature about all of this meant we could fulfill exactly what the bride to be was after and the room looked amazing.
We ordered the vegetarian buffet for all and Jared was fantastic at offering advice here, meaning we were able to keep costs within a very reasonable budget. The food was absolutely divine, all of the guests commented on it!
Thank you so much for allowing us to spend the day with you yesterday, we can't wait to come back again in the future and would definitely recommend!!
Enjoyed a good pint of IPA in here on a sunny afternoon in August. Didn't eat here but the menu looks good. Staff were efficient and there was a good atmosphere in the pub. Would definitely come back.
Came here for a Sunday roast at 1330 and was able to get a seat but it was full.
They had a good selection of beers on tap and a very decent food menu.
Ordered the beef roast and it was a very healthy portion and delicious.
Service was super friendly and fast.
Can't fault here and will be back again on my next visit.

❤️ A classy cosy Mayfair Gastro.
.
The Market Tavern is situated in the idyllic setting of Shepherd Market. Green Park Tube is only a few minutes stroll away.
.
This pub was built in 1808 and close to the original site of London’s ‘May Fair. The name ‘Mayfair’ comes from an annual fair that took place from 1686 to 1764 in what is now Shepherd Market.
.
This Georgian pub has a striking facade but effortlessly blends in to the surrounding area. The decor here is traditional and you get the sense you are somewhere classy. There are wooden floors throughout and chequered tiles around the elegant U shaped bar. The seating is very comfortable and consists of low level tables with upholstered chairs. The pub feels light and airy as light pours in from the many windows., there is also a dining room upstairs.
.
The beer line up was full of familiar brands including four cask to choose from. My pint of choice was Estrella, my pint was decent and price point wasn’t a surprise considering the area. This pub is not a full on Gastropub but does have a Gastro feel to it. The food is traditional pub fayre, Fish & Chips cost £17.
.
There was a welcoming atmosphere and the pub felt relaxed on this Saturday afternoon. The crowd was a mix of well-to-do locals and visitors to the area. The soundtrack was soulful which made for easy listening. The lady who served me was cheery and upbeat, for me this makes a big difference any pub visit.
.
The Market Tavern is a calm and stylish pub and a great place to visit to unwind and relax. The beer and food are good and the cost reflects the area. I would recommend a visit with your other half or a chilled social gathering. This is a lovely pub and well worth a visit.

Had light lunch with my two sons and husband. Great service...we had only an hour and waitress asked kitchen to be as quick as possible and they certainly were! The pie and the baked cheese in soda bread were amazing!! , 😋 Will definitely be back soon! Thankyou! x
Went with group of 14 for sunday roast, service was a bit slow by the server but food came fast. The food was great.
Annalisa was a fantastic asset to the pub. So friendly and made us feel very welcome. It makes such a difference to an evening out to have such brilliant servers.
Fantastic experience with you! We held our wedding reception and the staff were very professional and attentive. Food was of a high standard and we had a great time. Thanks for having us! Also very grateful for the staff letting my parents wait for their cab whilst it was raining.
Really fun atmosphere, great service, great fish, great beer selection.
Kamila was wonderful! The Sunday roast was delicious. Will definitely return next time we are in London.
