Having spent over a week in London, this was one of the better food places I tried. Their menu is halal and so the meat choices are limited but the food is so good you don't feel the void. Had bbq wings for starters that made me want to forget the main course altogether Haha! But the main course was a succulent well prepared burger patty with beef bacon. The ambiance was eye catching, modern and welcoming. Highly recommend anyone in the area to give it a try. The

One of my favourite steak experiences, the meat was cooked just the way I like it the sauce was lovely, the mash was creamy and smooth, the dining experience was great, the staff was friendly, the drinks were nicely balanced, the ambience was lovely, I always love nicely dimly lit place, with a great atmosphere, really enjoyed the desserts, everything was on point. Thank you for a great experience.

It took me a while to find this place but once I was there I was happy the place looked pretty. I entered but the lady at the reception was quite rude no greeting no hi or anything she was just like what ? I don’t know if it’s because I’m a 21 which looks about 18 or what but despite what I am still a paying customer! Anyhow another lady took me upstairs she was nice she sat us down. I firstly went for the calamari which was okay but I had better it was such a tiny portion. Then for main I went for the salmon and my partner went for the lamb shank again it was okay had nice flavour. I asked for the dessert menu which was very limited so I decided i am not going to get dessert from there and headed over to wafflemeister which was ever so delightful!

Having spent all of my Westfield dining experiences East in Stratford, it was time to switch to West. So I did and what a way to be introduced. As you come out of Shepherds Bush and turn left onto the shopping centre concourse, you are greeted by the usual suspects such as Ping Pong, Carluccio’s and Busaba Eathai. I am not saying I have anything against these; in fact the latter two are favourites of mine from the high street chains. However, nothing prepared me for The Meat Co. Sometimes you just want something different, something special and I hereby serve it to you on a silver platter.

Having spent all of my Westfield dining experiences East in Stratford, it was time to switch to West. So I did and what a way to be introduced. As you come out of Shepherds Bush and turn left onto the shopping centre concourse, you are greeted by the usual suspects such as Ping Pong, Carluccio's and Busaba Eathai. I am not saying I have anything against these; in fact the latter two are favourites of mine from the high street chains. However, nothing prepared me for The Meat Co. Sometimes you just want something different, something special and I hereby serve it to you on a silver platter.

The ground floor is delightful, but you must take the staircase up, as it is actually the beginning of the theatre that this dining experience offers. The spiral steps, enveloped with glass cased fine wine bottle displays, set the scene of luxury. The decor reminds me of one of my favourite restaurants in Hong Kong, Wooloo Mooloo which specialises in meat too. On the ground floor, the long narrow restaurant at The Meat Co is like a subdued catwalk, all rich, sensual and velvety. The rustic colour tones are calming and preps you for some serious meat action.

The team behind this restaurant are no strangers to creating epic dining spaces with establishments in Dubai, Greece and Australia. For this bold step into London, there are a few things that warm my heart about this place. Firstly, it's the service. It borders on fine dining but is just informal enough to make you feel comfortable. Then there is the fact that they have my favourite wine of all time, The Chocolate Block. I was first tempted with this blended red at Drapers Arm in Islington, then in Franschhoek (its home of creation) in South Africa and now here, with its subtle notes of chocolate, hence the name. It felt like all my Christmases had come early. The wine was expertly decanted by our lovable waiter. We waited patiently until we could have our first taste. Yum.

The third treat were the two individual menus on offer, one of which was Halal. This is an idea regularly missed out on the high street and mainstream menus, mostly restricted to certain areas, but I salute The Meat Co for carrying on its theme from Dubai and being inclusive.

Now we arrive at my fourth favourite thing, the food. The menu is certainly not fit for staunch vegetarians or vegans, it is all about the meat the way I like it. My now regular dining companion, Pranvera, had the salt and pepper calamari to start, which she said was perfect. I had the peri peri king prawns and whilst this may conjure up images of Nandos, it’s far away from that set up. The marinade was less acidic and it did not have a mass produced taste - sorry Nandos.

For our mains we both had fillet steak. I had mine with half a lobster to create my favourite dish of surf and turf. The waiter suggested a Portuguese side sauce that had a subtle tomato and chilli flavour, not too overpowering for the dish. Pranvera had the fillet steak topped with foie gras and a side of blue cheese sauce. The meat was prepared more on the rare side for us both and literally melted in one's mouth. Zero veins or chewiness, just tender meat to dip into our sauces. The lobster meat was also great without any skimping on the portion size. As a supporting cast to this award winning food production, we had sides of creamed spinach, chips and garlic mushrooms.

Everything about this dining experience screamed being away on holiday in some exotic city. Having travelled to Hong Kong, Singapore and New York, it did not feel like I was settled in a shopping centre next to a dual carriageway in West London. Do not be put off by its location, The Meat Co is the luxury choice for dining at Westfield or more importantly, West London.

Sometimes along my little journey as a food blogger, I find a restaurant and I just get SO excited to tell people about it. You'll have to forgive me though, it's been a while since I found a great steak place... and this one I found in the most unlikely of places: Westfield shopping centre. Just outside the main shops, there's a row of restaurants where you can grab something to eat

After completing the epic 24hrs of economy flights from NZ and flight meals my husband was looking for a good steak so the The Meat Co just a few minutes walk from our hotel seemed like an excellent choice. The service was top notch but seemed out of place for the menu and location. Two reception areas with 4-5 people walking round with headsets seemed all very New York and swish. Maybe we are just so spoilt in NZ but I wasn't impressed with the menu. Given the restaurant is right beside Westfield most of the customers are dressed casually, the 5 star wait staff and all the Tech seemed very pretentious. We didn't get steaks in the end because by the time you do the currency conversion we would be pay $100 for a steak and we just weren't convinced it would be worth it, in the end. So glad because the burgers were very average, and the chips were under seasoned. The food was just ok, but service was excellent and I couldn't fault it, but we won't be returning.

Amazing place; amazing food. A bit pricy, but you can not expect it to be very cheap if you go there. Loved food, loved the service. You can go with a large group; no problem in sitting and chatting. Very near to the station as well; no need to rush to finish food :) I recommend it.

It isn’t even the end of February, yet all my best intentions about cutting down on the amount of red meat I eat seem to have gone astray.  An invitation to review The Meat Co at Westfield Shepherds Bush was hardly likely to help matters, but when I mentioned it to a friend I got such an overwhelmingly enthusiastic response I could hardly say no.

The Meat Co is renowned for its high quality cuts of meat & quite righty so, as the is no other restaurant in London that can offer a fine dining halal steak experience as the Meat Co. Our rating would be 5 out of 5, but the reason we scored it down is because of the cost & some other dishes were not as sublime as they possibly should have been. The Meat Co truly understands a diner’s quest for good quality halal meat. There are a wide selection of halal dishes containing chicken, lamb or beef. The halal steaks in particular are sourced from Britain, the United States and Australia

What struck me as impressive was the meticulous effort the restaurant goes to in order to ensure a pure halal experience. There are two menus, one of which is entirely dedicated to halal followers. The waiter ordering system alerts the chefs about whether the food is halal or non-halal. In the kitchen, the delivery, storage and preparation of halal meats is entirely segregated to the non-halal meat. There are two grills, one of which is entirely dedicated to halal food. There are even colour-coded utensils to prevent cross contamination! This restaurant really understands how to please its halal customers.

The Verdict:
The quality of top halal produce keeps bringing us back. Furthermore, the elegant dining environment and friendly and attentive service provide a very positive dining experience. So if you’re looking for a carnivorous meal, you cannot go wrong with the Meat Co! (And for the veggies out there, there’s a fair bit of choice for you too!)

I like meat, then who doesn’t? I particularly like steak and like it when it’s thick, juicy and delicious. It’s also something I’ve been cooking a lot at home, due to its simplicity and price. That’s the pointless intro here’s the review. Meat and co formally known as meat and wine company is regarded to have the best steak in the UK and it’s a place that has long as been on my list. Recently I met a friend who is shared a passion for food and he suggested a visit to meat & Co, I didn’t need much convincing. I booked a table online for Friday night and counted the down days.

Meat and co is situated just outside Westfield Sheppards Bush, upon arrival we were shown to our table upstairs and even the halal menu.

The restaurant definitely looked expensive, the decor was of a high standard with a view into the open kitchen.

For starters we both shared some BBQ chicken wings, these were good, a strong deep flavour and very tender, but only 3 pieces for £8.95 and I would say that I have add better, but I was not here for the chicken wings!

BBQ WingsBBQ Wings
So on to the steak! There is a lot of choice on the menu. The steaks here are not your average halal steak, there are 2 different types of aged meats, wet and dry. Look up what each means in more detail, but in short, the process of ageing meat costs extra and releases natural flavours from the meat itself from the way the enzymes break down meat fibres.

As you can see from the menu, different cuts and different prices. I consider myself to be a lover of good meat and I really wanted to treat myself. On the opposite page of the menu is a listing for Wagyu beef. Again, look this up, but basically Wagyu is one of the top cuts of meat you can get. Famous for incredibly high level of fat marbling, And it’s not just any fat – this is a soft fat with a low melting point, due in part to its high proportion of monounsaturated fats.
So here it is.

I ordered the halal Wagyu, medium rare.

What did I think? Well I didn’t like it…. I loved it. Wow. Omg. Insert superlative here. When I cut my first piece and it entered my mouth the meat felt like it melted in the tongue. The flavours of the naturals fats and meat where incredible. It was like eating little bits of soft and tender clouds that were main from meat. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Im naturally a fast eater and I really savoured each mouthful. I decided to get the steak with no sauce, it’s served with a house basting of the natural juices over the meat that’s just wonderful

Honestly guys, I’m finding hard to describe how epic and awesome eating this meal was. Steak was also served with a side of chips.

So how much did this steak cost?. Well on the menu there is no price, just market value. On the day I went it was £55. Now, halal also means not spending beyond ones means and gratefully I was happy to pay this. I counted this meal as a treat to myself as my day job as been very successful this year. (allahumdulila)

In most people’s book £55 is expensive for a piece of meat and there were other options that start at around £30, but it was worth the experience in my book.

My friend had the beef burger, I can’t you how it was as I only tried a little bit and didn’t want the taste of burger to conflict with my Amazing Wagyu!

The service was very good, from the moment you walk in you are greeted by staff at the front desk, top floor, then table. Our waiter was personable, attentive and friendly, and allowed us time to order and decide what to have.

After the meal I spoke to the manager in detail about the process of the way they manage the halal meat in great detail. He spoke with us about the halal aspect and the impact halal diners have had on the restaurant.

Anyway, I had a great experience and totally recommended Meat and co as the best halal steak in London, that I’ve had hands down.

My part of the bill was £65 Inc service. No drinks shared starter.

Just another thing, I want to mention the rareness of Halal Wagyu, you can’t get it easily here. If you go to your halal butcher, you can get a 300g rump steak for £4 and its around £15 for the same thing in a restaurant. Now look up the price of Wagyu from a butcher, i found it at £70 for 2 x175g, the price is £200 per KG. Compared to £8.99 for rump steak. So my value score takes this into account.

I had walked past this place many a time before I'd decided to go in and I'm glad I finally did! The decor outside does little to reflect the interior which is sleek and inviting. Our waiter was fantastic - attentive to detail, friendly and very helpful. The food was beautiful and of fab quality, and judging by the sheer number of parties there were that night, this place obviously has its fans! I would highly recommend this place, especially after a long day shopping next door, and more so for any lovely dinner date. We had the chicken skewers, the salads, the steak and the banana pudding! All were lovely.

I do love me a good steak, so it brings me great joy to tell you about a steakhouse that I recently visited which truly deserves its moment in the limelight. Located in Westfield, Meat Co. isn’t a restaurant that many have heard of, or would perhaps consider travelling for, but I hope to convince you otherwise.

I can’t remember the last time I walked into a restaurant and was as wowed by the design as I was with The Meat Co in White City. Sure there have been bars like Cahoots whose decor has impressed me. And I like the design in the various brances of Wahaca I’ve been to. But walking into The Meat Co with its African inspired surroundings was something else.

Westfield added a touch of magic to a once grotty corner of Shepherd’s Bush and the transformation has brought with it a host of designer shops, food outlets and cash-laden shoppers. A dangerously close bus ride away from my home Mr and Me are here to visit The Meat Co which takes up an impressive space on the Southern Terrace, a busy thoroughfare where the choice of food takes you from one culinary end of the world to another.

South Africa is where you land when you take a seat in this restaurant set on two levels, the ground floor with its split open terrace and inside, the ‘Puza Bar’ serving bar food and cocktails.

Upstairs, there’s seating for a whopping 260 including banquettes for two, and tables for various group sizes along with a feature table (directly in front of the glass panelled open kitchen) framed by empty wine bottles, a nod to the comprehensive wine list from the economical to the wallet crushing.

The main restaurant has many reminders of South Africa, the flash of reds and orange aspects on walls and lamp shades, a framed picture of Madiba, a wooden frieze covering and a giraffe-print covered lift interior. Even the soundtrack to our meal consisted of lively South African beats.

As the restaurant name suggests, the menu is a carnivore’s idea of heaven, and a vegetarian’s nightmare (just one vegetarian special and the usual salmon fillet offering and ‘pasta of the day’) and a separate Halal menu for Muslim diners. We’d visited The Meat Co before and knew what to expect but this time I was invited for a booked review and everyone had been briefed. Like all reviews like this, I do worry that the attention focused on me is unique. As ever, I keep a very close eye on service and how other tables are treated and on this visit, it really was no different.

When you arrive at The Meat Co, the ground floor booking receptionist tells the upstairs floor that you’ve arrived. As soon as you climb the dramatic staircase you’re taken to your table. Menus for drink and food follow and the waiter takes your order. Ours was Bon, he tells me it’s French for “good” but that he doesn’t speak French as he’s from South Africa. A jolly chap who knows the menu as well as the back of his hand.

I began with a Tanqueray gin and tonic (£8.80), although disappointed that the tonic had lost it’s bubbles somewhere along the way. Mr had a ginger beer (£2.10). The waiter who brought them to the table asked if we were having a nice evening, and then said he hoped it continued. Charming. If you’re a fan of service, great service, and get upset when the service charge is automatically added and it’s not really been earned, then you’ll be pleased to read that the waiters and waitresses are worth every extra penny. We chose a small glass of red each, me the Goyenechea Malbec (£5.10) and Mr the Footprint Merlot Pinotage (£4.10).

Breads made here on the premises range from chocolate and beetroot (£3.25) to cheesy garlic (£4.75) or if you’re feeling particularly hungry grab the mixed platter (£13.00). The starters include soup of the day (£5.75) Greek or caesar salads (£5.50) beef ribs (£11.50), roasted bone marrow (£10.00), chicken wings (£8.75) or the entrée tasting plate (£31.00). We had trouble choosing between the Peri Peri prawns (£10.25), the Boerewors served on a bed of maize (£9.00) (The Meat Co have kindly shared their recipe with me and it’s here) or the squid. The latter won out and the salt and pepper calamari, was moist with a crispy coating, the squid was thick and not in the least rubbery, served with Nam Jim sauce, a home-made sweet and sour dipping sauce. Two pieces each probably wasn’t a good enough portion to share, but enough to taste (£8).

Salt & Pepper Squid, The Meat Co Salt & Pepper Squid, The Meat Co

I fancied a bowl of green salad leaves but there isn’t one on offer, so I ordered the Greek Salad, a little heavy on the green herb dressing and had a crumbling of feta and not cubed but was pleasant enough.

On a previous visit we ate the onion rings (£2.50) some of the best I’ve tasted, thin, perfectly coated and delicious. Other sides include seasonal vegetables (£4.75), creamed spinach (£4.25), chips (£2.75), green beans and tomatoes (£4.75), steamed Basmati rice (£2.25), biltong (£4.25), grilled asparagus (£4.25), mashed potato (£2.75), garlic mushrooms (£4.75) and Droëwors (£4.50) an African beef spiced sausage. For mains, the menu is divided into sections which include Connoisseurs Choice, Super-Aged Meat, Burgers, Poultry, Seafood, Hanging Skewers and Specialities. On the subject of speciality, The Meat Co baste their meat in a secret recipe South African Steak Sauce. I chose not to have this painted on my steak whilst Mr did for purposes of the review.

In the super-aged meat group you can choose from British 30-day dry aged cuts (air drying concentrates the flavour and tenderises the meat, or the slightly more costly North American Black Angus, wet-aged for 35 days (vacuum sealing takes less time and avoids weight loss). There’s Chateaubriand (£19.00/kilo), Bone Marrow Fillet (200g/£45.00 or 300g/56.00) and Kangaroo (£25.00) on offer and dependent on the meat you choose and size you can expect to pay between £38-£58 for a fillet; £33-£46 for a Rib Eye and £25-£40 for a New Yorker (strip steak or short loin). There are four burgers on offer and dependent on how hungry you are they all weigh in at 225g. For the positively starving you can upscale to 450g and these include a chicken option and a Rib Meat Burger (£19.00). Top that for (£2.00) with Mushroom, Blue Cheese (£2.50), Bacon or Pineapple. Like any steak house there are sauces (£2.25) on offer and The Meat Co’s are all homemade and include a blue cheese and vodka offering, along with the more traditional green peppercorn. Four hanging skewers are spiked with a variety of beef, chicken and fish and are flame grilled and served vertically. These start at £19.00 and run to £28.00 for the prawn and beef.

Specialities include ribs – both pork and beef – and lamb shank. There are so many options for the meat-lover here at The Meat co it takes a good ten minutes to read the menu, ensuring you don’t miss out. When the food for other tables passes, it’s hard not to reveal your food envy.

We finally decide on steak and our waiter Bon had a lovely smile which distracted from his nifty up-selling technique, Mr asked for the British fillet 200g but was swayed by Bon’s recommendations and opted for the US steak in spite of the extra £4.00 (£42.00). Bon rattled through the side dishes as if we’d missed something. No bad thing, just a sign of brilliant marketing and excellent training. Luckily for Bon he kept his smile – Mr was pretty impressed with the results of his swap. Bon, Waiter, The Meat Co

My fillet foie gras (200g) was served with a gargantuan-sized piece of liver, in fact it draped over my fillet and I thought was excellent value at £50. I had chips, which tasted of real potato (for a change), but there’s an offer of mash too. I’d go back for the chips alone, although I hate those ridiculous mini-frier baskets they’re served in – the less my chips are handled the better. It was cooked as I asked medium rare and was perfect.

Mr’s steak was cooked medium rare and he chose to add lobster tail as an extra (£20). There are also prawns on offer if you fancy a surf-n-turf. He felt the special sauce didn’t add anything to a perfect cut of meat. He opted for the mashed potato and he said it was pretty good, smooth, creamy and well-seasoned.

I didn’t eat all day ahead of our visit and even I couldn’t manage a dessert. A real shame as they include one of my favourite South African dishes and one of the late, great Nelson Mandela, Malva Pudding (£7.00), there’s also a Peanut Butter Cheesecake (£8.00), The Meat Co Apple Pie (£7.00), Hot Chocolate Fondant (£8.00) and the ubiquitous Tasting Platter (£12.50).

The Meat Co supports the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund (UK) a range of their dishes include a donation to this fund which focuses on changing the way society treats its children and youth.

Our neighbouring table had a birthday celebration and desserts arrived with a waiter carrying a sparkling indoor firework. A waitress was busy adding 21st Birthday balloons to dress another table. The Meat Co has a fabulous atmosphere and is full of families, couples and mixed groups.

If you don’t fancy food, it’s always worth noting that they run a generously timed ‘Happy Hour’ on selected cocktails and wine-by-the-glass is available between 5pm and 9pm.

There are plenty of steak restaurants in the area and more choice if you head into town but if you’re in W12 or heading towards Westfield and all that shopping makes you crave a steak then The Meat Co has to be it. I’ve given you an idea of price, slightly on the high side but the steak is excellent quality and the service faultless.

If you have any problem here in the restaurant, you’d have difficulty keeping it to yourself. Guests are constantly asked if they’re enjoying their food, if there’s anything more that can be done or brought to the table. Don’t feel like speaking up? Complete the guest comment card which arrives with every bill. It’s clear the management here ask the right questions of their guests and listen to what they have to say. It was difficult to find any faults in our food, or the service. And whilst it may seem a little old-fashioned to complete a questionnaire it clearly works for The Meat Co.

Regulars can take full advantage of their loyalty scheme a gold card gives you 5% off your meal whilst a platinum card (by invitation) affords the holder a 10% discount and their own steak knife for restaurant use as well as a host of other benefits.

Our meal, with the £18.76 service charge and a bottle of sparkling mineral water was £168.86.

When you visit a restaurant, what’s the first thing you judge it on? Is it the staff, the drinks, the decor – the exterior? Personally I CAN be sympathetic towards certain things, but when it comes down to the basic interior of a place, which I have to sit in for the next few hours – some things just can’t be excused. The Meat Co. in Westfield is a little in between that line because downstairs in the bar area its tired and glass-washer smelly. But upstairs it’s well-kept, clean and extremely cosy. The Meat Co. needs to strike a balance and quickly – because after all first impressions count most. What I love most about this place is the open kitchen, gazing across the room at the flame grilled chunks of steak spitting and crackling. Unlike downstairs, it smells of heaven upstairs.

Beautiful experience. Booked this place for my husbands birthday and they were very accomodationg.. I ordered a steak and my husband went for the bbq ribs -both meals were DELICIOUS! My husband loved this place and said it was worth the money by far.. we paid £90 for a shared starter, side dish, two mains, two cold drinks, one dessert and one flat white. Would recommend to all, especially if you're looking for somewhere that does halal menu.

P.s. I was very impressed when the restaurant gave me a call a week later regarding our dining experience! They asked if we were happy with the service and food

Have been a few times before writing the review. Average food, lovely atmosphere and amazing service. The surroundings definately make up for the high expectations on the food not being met.

I went back despite not enjoying the visit in
August '15 & April '15.

Multiple visits later in the course of 2016, I can safely say I would highly recommend this amazing restaurant. Having been for a romantic meal, family meal and a girlie lunch, the atmosphere doesn't fail to disappoint. The steak was perfectly cooked, superbly seasoned , amazing sauce and superb with chips that were fried to perfection.
The service is the perfect level of friendly, the menu is very diverse however I now have some favourites to which I am drawn. Fantastic place, a must go and must go back and must go again.....

The whole restaurant exudes this warm & homey atmosphere. Courtesy of the dimly lit lanterns hanging from the ceilings and the dark wooden furnishings.

My favourite place to sit is on the sofa seats, it is just unbelievably comfy.

If I had my way I could stay there all night.

The kitchen sits proudly right in the centre, so you can see into it through the glass windows and shamelessly stalk the chefs' movements.

We booked a table for 9:30pm and mentioned we would like the Halal menu, we got there a little early where the maître D told us that our table would be ready for the time we booked or we could go and sit down earlier but that would mean us sitting next to a table where the diners were drinking alcohol, we were quite impressed with that actually as they knew our Halal requirements, having said this we all actually didn't mind and hence were able to sit down earlier.

So a good start from a service point of view.

Food was ordered along with little shots of various non-alcoholic wine as when we went the name was still Meat & Wine Co.

Now I didn't fully enjoy my meal but that's not the restaurants fault, I ordered a weird side to go with my steak which I cannot remember what is was but the steak was really nice and the whole experience was good, you get what you pay for which was reflected in the fairly steep bill, but a place like this that was expected.

I have frequented this place quite a few times and I must say that it has never failed to impress me. I have tried a variety of food here and always found it to be absolutely delightful, especially the halal steak, which is quite a feat. The prices are a bit on the expensive side but it is definitely worth it. The service is attentive and efficient as well. I will surely be returning.

I visited this place for the fourth time today. its surprising not to be as impressed as you were when you first walked in. My experience here has never been filled with complaints. In the Lunch time, they serve a special of steak and chips which is all priced at a reasonable cost of 12.50 pounds.

This is one of my most preferred restaurants in the city for some amazing food. The steak here is highly recommended and is absolutely impeccable. The side dishes and the starters do not disappoint either, especially the madiba dessert. The atmosphere is comforting. The staff is quick, efficient and very attentive. Will definitely be returning.

This has to be one of the best restaurants in the neighborhood. I have tried the steak as well as the desserts. I had ordered the Angus rib eye that was superb. The restaurant is famous for special occasions and not wrongly so. The prices may be a little steep but worth it.

Are you a steak lover? You must definitely try this place out. By far one of the best places in London that serve amazing steaks and to add on to it, incredibly delicious desserts. The taste is pretty authentic and the portions of food offered is really good. The food served is well cooked and very well prepared. This place is definitely worth giving a shot.

This place is award winning and had an exquisite bar on the lower level and an even more gorgeous restaurant on the floor above. I must say, they use meat of the beat quality and it appears to have been sourced from many different countries. The food here is excellent, beginning from the starters and moving on to the mains. They also house some exciting wines.

Ambiance: This is a more classy steakhouse, the ambiance is nice do to the dim lights and the cosy furniture. Definitely a nice setting, whilst upstairs it is slightly more formal dining.

Service: The service were all very good and friendly.

Food: All of the food is prepared and presented nicely, really recommend it. The steak is great, I ordered the fillet, and it was incredibly tender cooked to medium perfection. I also loved ending my meal with a delicious Creme Brulee, again prepared nicely.

Value: It is more expensive, as steak usually is, so because of this I wouldn't go back often, but I would recommend it if you in the area and want a decent meal!

I was lucky enough to hold a birthday meal here at the head table last year, and I can honestly say it exceeded my expectations. The wonderful staff did their best to ensure everything was perfect - and it was. The food was presented beautifully, and tasted just as great! However, save this place for an occasions as it's very pricey (average £30 pp).

Tip: although this place is huge inside, I'd recommend booking a table in advance during peak times as it was very busy during our visit.

Adequately named, The Meat Company. Walking into what you think will be a simple restaurant, you are slapped in the face with class. Red and black themed with hostesses that you call by name because they make you feel so at home. The downstairs is an illusion. It may look like the whole restaurant, it may look like you're going to sit there. But you're wrong. Because there's a giraffe printed elevator that takes you upstairs to your table. Or if you're a health freak, walk up the stairs and be rewarded by chocolate. Yes. Catch 22 indeed. Once you're seated you realise that this is a classy place. You did good Nour. You did good. Now for the food.... Chocolate and beetroot bread + potato and onion bread. Don't pick one. Get both. What a beautiful concoction. The chocolate melts in your mouth but still keeps a savoury feel and the potato give you a little surprise. Whatever meat dish you order, will be consumed with a grin that makes even the shyest of teeth want to come out to play. The beef rib burger just melts on your buds. The grade 7+ wagyu beef is marbled to perfection. Did I mention the bone marrow? The size of my shoe with a side of steak. Beautiful. Marvellous. Like I said before, adequately named.

The surest way to my heart is through a steak.

A badass steak, that is.

Any tiffs & arguments amongst friends and lovers can be resolved with steak.

That is why choosing your steakhouse is so god damn important.

If you get it wrong; you're probably going to end up in the dog house for a week.

This is no joke.

One of my secret weapons comes in the form of The Meat and Wine Co.

The Meat and Wine Co. is a global African Steak house, with it's one and only flagship restaurant in the UK nestled in Westfield - Shepherd's Bush branch - London.

They have their own exclusive line of beef; the Monte Beef brand, which is sourced from only premium breeders of primary the Angus cattle, whom are carefully reared and grazed on selected farms.

So these are happy pampered cows.

Ambiance

The whole restaurant exudes this warm & homey atmosphere. Courtesy of the dimly lit lanterns hanging from the ceilings and the dark wooden furnishings.

My favourite place to sit is on the sofa seats, it is just unbelievably comfy.

If I had my way I could stay there all night.

The kitchen sits proudly right in the centre, so you can see into it through the glass windows and shamelessly stalk the chefs' movements.

Sex Appeal

300g Wagyu Steak £55, served with potato chips £2.25 & green beans with cherry tomatoes £5.00.

The Wagyu cattle are raised having daily massages and have beer/sake/red wine added to their feed, they are also genetically predisposed to having intense marbling. Making them renowned for their tenderness, flavour and well marbled texture. High quality.

The 300g Wagyu steak is one of the most expensive cuts of meat on the whole menu.

It was worth every penny.

The steak came to me glistening from the BBQ glaze, it was cooked medium rare and had that char grilled flavour that's so difficult to achieve.

The Wagyu steak was impossibly flawless, it was unbelievably tender, so intensely flavoured unlike any other steak I've ever had before and just melt-in-your-mouth awesome.

You don't need anything else.

She's perfect.

500g T-Bone Steak £45, served with potato chips £2.25 & green beans with cherry tomatoes £5.00.

This one was a man's steak.

Please do not attempt to order this if you're a pansy.

The T-Bone is comprised of the short loin and the tenderloin, and is a proper hunk of meat; just look at the size of him..

When something is that huge and still tender and soft, you just know that this is a serious steak.

Size does matter in this case.

I'll let the steak do the talking for this one. So go scroll back up and have an ogle.

Chef's Selection of Desserts £12.50 - Chocolate Pistachio Fondant, Chocolate Brownie Sundae, Mango Sorbet, Creme Brulee, Nelson Mandela's Malva Cake.

Nothing beats having a selection of desserts.

It's not greed, it's a necessity.

How else are you going to know which one is your favourite?

One of the worst feelings in the world is food envy.

I get that real bad, especially if someone else has the dessert that I want instead of my own.

I'll let you imagine the consequence of that scenario.

But you really can't go wrong with Malva cake, Chocolate Pistachio Fondant, Chocolate Brownie Sundae AND Mango Sorbet.

Personally I could eat the Malva cake all day.

So if you do want to play conservative, order that.

The ribs were damn good. Quite pricey but worth it. It feels like a high end steakhouse (which is not my favourite type of restaurant) but you don't get many places in London that serve quality ribs and this place is one of them. If your loving the export of US culture to London make sure you hit the mall afterwards!

My favourite steak place, was taken here for my birthday and the food was exceptional. We ordered starters, mains with sides and drinks which came to just under £200 (it is very pricey due the high grade steak we chose) meals can be cheaper if you look at the less expensive options. Great place for those special occasions, halal options served here with a separate halal dinning area for those who want to avoid alcohol altogether. Food is cooked is separate from non halal items, staff are friendly and attentive. Toilets are unisex which I wasn’t fond of but wasn’t a reason to not eat here.

I love this place a lot and have been here quite a few times. The decor is modern and the staff are attentive to their customers. I have eaten the best steaks I have ever had in this restaurant. The ribs are particularly good, whether as starters or the main. The chips are hand cut and are almost like roast wedges in somuch as the middle is wonderfully fluffy. Its very difficult to eat here and then go to another steak joint because of the difference in quality. During my most recent visit, the quality was not quite what I usually expect but this has been the first time. All other times, it was perfect. This place is halal. Be aware that it is very expensive. A good steak will cost £40 to £50. There is no point in going for a cheap option when you come here. From memory, the rump steak is the cheapest, but really you are better off spending that little bit more money for something great. The best cheapest thing I have had here is the rib meat burger.

All staff I asked said meat is halal. Waiting time for food was 30 mins. Portions looked small but they were filling. Asked for a medium rare rump steak and it was cooked perfectly. Chicken was also properly cooked. Service was amazing, staff were very helpful. I would highly recommend the lunch menu if you're on a budget; steak of the day with chips is £13.50, chicken with potato and sauce is £12.50. Obviously it's going to be pricey if you order from main menu. Interior decoration is beautiful, overall really great experience.

The food here at the Meat Co is first class. I personally had the Beef Rib Burger with a side of Asparagus and chips. The burger was an incredible creation. Delicate melt in your mouth pulled beef with a crisp toasted bun. The French fries were crisp and lightly seasoned and the asparagus was perfectly done and fragrant. My partner had the steak with a side of mac and cheese. She lovingly shared some of her steak with me that almost made me regret my rib burger..... almost. The staff were pleasant, professional and had a good sense of humour such was a wonderful contrast against the stuffy upper class decor of the restaurant. Be aware however, they charge for thier expertise. A plate can be around £50 before sides but, in my humble opinion it's worth every penny.

Had my wife's birthday at this place. Come out of Shepherd's Bush Station, left, walk towards the billboards, and it is on your left. This place is not inside westfield shopping centre. Nice atmosphere. The halal section is upstairs. Just let them know, where you want a table as NO alcohol is served upstairs. Food was good. Bit expensive. Steaks were nice. The best thing, I think was the dessert platter for £15 where they give a sample of all desserts on the menu. Staff are super nice and especially helpful if you don't know anything about steaks like myself. Kid friendly aswell.

Big and cozy restaurant with beautiful decorated. The food is worth here (three main dish - Steak, Salmon, Burger is £80). The CLASSIC Burger is juicy and tender, the RIB-EYE STEAK is well flovoured and perfectly cooked(Medium rare) and the SALMON is very fresh. However, pls take note that there's a 12.5% SERVICE CHARGES and 12% TAX. Their service is quite horrible as there's only few waiter to serve more than 50 tables. Had the beef burger (200g) and fries. The burger was pretty big, but tasted really nice. The price was very reasonable. The food didn't take too long to prepare and was served hot. The service was good and the overall atmosphere was really nice. The most confusing thing was the shared toilets. I don't understand why they opted to have gender neutral toilets. Men women and children have to share. Bizarre. Otherwise everything else was great on our visit.

On the day I went with husband we waited a little while for our mains and the waiter, Stan, was nice and said that we can get free desert on him!!! I've been there twice and I would go again. I had half a rack of ribs and that was very filling - doesn't smell or just taste of fat as it's cooked properly. Great food and service - all HALAL menu. Staff are friendly- toilets are clean.
