My partner and I both ordered the turkey club sandwich, which was amazing. The staff attended us well. Will be returning frequently. Highly recommend this place.
Delicious fresh food, warm staff, prices according to the quality of its dishes.
So we were just out and about Notting hill, and found this amazing little Mexican place, the food was amazing the staff are so kind made my daughter feel so welcome and I think he was the manager such a nice guy. I will be coming back and the portions are perfect not to big and not to small just what I love ❤❤👌🏼🙌
Not the mot authentic Mexican restaurant in London. But tasty, lively, low key in the heart of Notting Hill. Nice staff and original food. Recommend the breakfasts as well. A sure choice.
Food was yummy. We went on Mother's Day and they made my mum feel very special with a free glass of prosecco :-)
They have recently renovated after aquiring the next door shop. Space is bigger but hasn't lost any of its atmosphere. They have done a really good job. The food is the same if not a little better. Actually very good value considering the location and quality. Well worth a visit.
Helt klart godaste tacos jag ätit! Rekommenderar stark, väldigt goda margaritas också 😉
As Always most amazing tacos, margaritas and ambience
Delicious Food + Good Service= Excellent Place! 100% Recommended!
Loved it! Food was great, drinks were great and service was great!
I love this place because it is so full of life and it always seems like it is frozen in time. I can still remember what was the last thing I had there. It also doesn't hurt that it is delicious but the takeaway is never as good as the food at the restaurant.
OK! Miso Hungry is back a day before a new year's resolution was due to begin! It's been a while since posting... like 2 years but happy to say Tacqueria has inspired me not only to post a review but to resurrect my entire food blog. It's not easy to find a good taco in London. I'd probably say there are a handful of places but after a recommendation from a friend from West Coast (they probably take it more seriously than Mexicans) I had to give this a try. I'd have love to stay longer and next time I will to sample more of the menu. Started with a Classic Michelada which is a now my preferred method of drinking beer! "It's the Mexican Aperol Spritz" - not my words but it sums it up. For food I opted for the Chorizo Quesadilla and Soft Shell Crab tacos. Both executed to perfection. Miso back!
Ordered delivery via deliveroo at almost 11pm (after a major snafu in dinner plans). the food was at home in under 25 minutes. Extra half star just for that.
Ordered some tacos which were lovely. Chorizo is amazing. Quesadillas weren’t as crisp as I’d like them, so they had become a bit chewy. I expect they would taste better on location.
Great nachos too. Meal came quickly, was tasty and filling. What’s not to like?
Notting Hill'deki Taqueria'nin methini cok duyduk ve tacolari icin heyecanla gittik. Gercekten tacolari harikaydi. Biz steak tacos denedik, minik minikler ama iclerindeki lezzet orani gercekten cok fazla. Fiyat olarak Notting Hill'deki hos mekanlara gore uygun. Ama lezzetlere doymak biraz zor....

Taquería is one of those restaurants I’ve walked past time after time and have always wanted to try. Offering Mexican food – with a focus on tacos, as the name suggests – this restaurant has long been high on my hit-list of local places to try. When a friend came to visit me in London for drinks and dinner one weekend, Taquería seemed like a good choice.
I have a serious case of wanderlusting. At the moment, the idea of a beach holiday in a warm, sunny place (with a side of cocktails, guacamole and naps under the palm trees) sounds like the absolute dream.
But since this is London and I won’t have a holiday for quite some time still, I settled for the next best thing: a taco feast at Taqueria.
Taqueria is good restaurant! It's got a very good selection of Mexican food. We orderd tacos and enchilladas in tomato sause. Tacos were very good and the chicken enchiladas very creamy.
The restaurant makes its own tortillas for tacos. What is more, you can buy there mexican ingredients such as masa harina, different herbs, peppers to make mexian food et home. The staff is really very nice. We would return for sure.
There are two Mexican restaurants near my office. One seems to embody all the Mexican restaurant clichés Europeans are fond of: dim-lit interiors, recipes loaded with greasy sauces and burdened with microwaved sides, and a flood of those overly colourful decorations you'll only ever see at the dingy Tex-Mex eatery inside your local shopping mall. The other is Taqueria.
I'm perhaps guilty of judging a book by its cover, but I've always been very keen to try Taqueria, and not interested at all in stepping foot in the other place. I'm all for natural lighting, airy spaces and simple furnishings; not having to choose between an oily burrito, a stale quesadilla, and a stack of Dorito-like chips horrendously doused in chilli sauce and sour cream is always an added benefit. Taqueria ticks all these boxes. Think a more refined version of Wahaca: the ambiance and target clientele are more or less the same, but the menu offers more original takes on what we've come to see as "classic" Mexican fare this side of the Atlantic.
The downside of Taqueria is that portions are rather small. A tapas place could get away with this quite easily; unfortunately, many of Taqueria's dishes have the added disadvantage of being messy eats you can't really share (you might have a hard time figuring out how to eat the tostadas by yourself; good luck trying to divide them up). If you're looking for a light meal, or something to nibble on while you have a couple of drinks, you might be ok with that. If you're feeling any hungrier, you'll need to order at least two dishes - or three, if you're not taking any chances. Don't let the £6 - £7 tag appended to most mains fool you into believing you've discovered one of London's much romanced budget eats: the price for feeling you've eaten well and abundantly is at least £20 per person.
The tuna tostada was the highlight of my meal; it comes as a small crunchy tortilla with avocado cream, sliced raw tuna, chipotle mayonnaise and fried onion shavings piled on top. The portion is fit for a starter to a more substantial meal, but £6.50 still seem a bit much for the amount you get. Value for money aside, I can't help thinking that if the base was slightly larger, eating the whole thing without making a mess would be easier. I'll give you the advice my savvier colleagues gave me: pluck the onion shavings from the top first, then grab the remainder of your tostada with both your hands and bite into it. No stained clothes, no soiled napkins, no mess on the table. And let me tell you, those onion shavings are as addictive as the tastiest packet of crisps. They could be a starter in their own right, and I'd order them every single time.
Having tried most of the meat-beans-and-spicy-sauce combinations Mexican restaurants in Europe tend to offer, I was glad to find Taqueria has a wide selection of fish and vegetarian tacos too. I've never been disappointed with fish tacos so far; Taqueria's are no exception. I defy you to call a taco with fried cod, chipotle mayo and smooth avocado cream anything but a good idea, unless you don't eat fish at all. The fish was well cooked, but a tad too bland; the menu says it's fried in cider batter, but it could have been plain old flour, egg and breadcrumbs for all I knew. Fortunately, the pairing with chipotle mayo worked flawlessly, adding all the zing the dish would have otherwise been missing.
As well as tacos and tostadas, the menu also offers starters you can keep for yourself or share (a portion of totopo chips with guacamole is enough to feed three people - that's £6.50 well spent), quesadillas and spicy soups. Taqueria's desserts sound far less inventive than most mains; the choice is limited to fried plantain with ice cream, crepes with chocolate and ice cream, and the evergreen, crowd-pleasing churros with chocolate. Alcoholic drinks include Mexican bottled beers, a selection of micheladas (beers with added juices and herbs), and tequila-based cocktails. There's enough variety to suit all tastes, and given mine are usually hard to cater for when it comes to Mexican food, I'm rather pleased with what I've seen and tasted so far.
One of my dearest friends is totally mucho loco for all things Mexican and she wanted to try out Taquería. I love Mexican food so I didn't have to think twice. First thing you notice when you walk in is the very grilly grill smell. And just so you know that smell will follow you home as well. Other than that all good by the look of the place and the waiters welcomed us politely and with a smile. All the waitors also spoke both english and spanish which was very cool in my opinion.
I ordered 2 scallops, a ceviche and a fish taco. They were actually all very tasty and I got my tummy full but I wasn't very hungry to start with. So the portions were quite small especially for the prices. The two scallops set me back like 3,5 pounds, the ceviche was 7,5 and the fish taco was like 6. So a little bit pricy if you want to eat a lot. Also I couldn't resist the churros for dessert as the lovely waitress gave them such high praise and she was totally right - they were divine. For a drink I had a nice Mexican bottled beer (which was brought in a chilled glass and was heavenly).
So if you don't mind smelling like a grill and overpaying a little bit for your meal then I recommend Taquería, because it was definitely delicious and a nice visit overall.
The last time I was in Taqueria, it was for a celebration of Dodie Miller's twenty years in the chili business. The Cool Chile Company was founded in 1993 and has grown into a thriving operation for its owner and in 2005, Tacqueria was opened on the exceedingly well heeled Westbourne Grove.
Having been able to enjoy the delights of a precious week off, a trip to Taqueria seemed like one of my better ideas. The thought of those fantastic, soft corn tortillas which are made here in London by the machine appropriately named 'El Monstruo' was enough to make me leap into the car and head on down.
If you like beer then Negra Modelo is a refreshing and surprisingly light beer to quaff with your meal, despite its dark appearance and one which my pal Zina had drunk on numerous occasions. I was driving so chose the orange juice, freshly squeezed of course.
The lunchtime special menu costs six pounds fifty for a very substantial meal. The Cochinita Pibil was calling to me like a rat to the Pied Piper. A gooey amalgamation of melted cheese, slow cooked pork in achiote, avocado, pink pickled onions, refried beans and house pickled Scotch bonnet encased in a thin corn tortilla was a dreamy mouthful bursting with wonderful flavours and exotic spice.
The juicy chicken, wrapped in a warm blanket of tortilla and steeped in a luscious tomato sauce with onion and green chile sauce, crema and cheese was truly delicious.
With the latino sounds quietly soothing your ears in the background, the cool of Tacqueria is unmistakable. The service was efficient and our waitress very likable. The bill, including two packs of soft corn tortillas (really good value at £2.10 per pack) came to just over £26. Simple, quality ingredients that have been together with a great deal of thought. And boy does it show. Bien hecho.
If you are Mexican or know about Mexican food, you will not be disappointed. If you do not know about proper Mexican food, you give it a try. The tacos al pastor are very flavourful.
Being Mexican myself I can honestly say that the food at this restaurant is truly authentic. Great service and great tasting food. The only thing I did not like was that my "agua de horchata" was too diluted.
Good light meal if you aren't too hungry. I will click on "I like it" as everything we had tasted nice and fresh. On the other hand, I reckon the small portions are overpriced. Appetiser + tacos (2 or 3 tiny ones depending on the choice) at £15 is what I call a snack.
Fantastic. It's Mexican meets tapas. Tinga tacos are great but the chicken tostada was exceptional. We ordered six different things and left feeling pleasantly full instead of ready to burst like Mexican in the states. Will definitely be eating here again soon :)
I used to think Mestizo was good Mexican food. Taqueria is at another level. Tacos are a bit small but this just gives a chance to try a few more choices. Not to mention the margaritas are simply out of this world, bar server said all.ingredients made fresh each morning. Wait staff that helped us were both from Mexico city and vouched this is what they would be having at home.
Awesome food surprisingly authentic reminds me of peurto escondido on the pacific coast of Mexico. Niiice
My sister Kirsty was recently living near Taqueria in Notting Hill so I had to give it a go before she moved - I went with her and Arabella however it was mainly just me eating as Kirsty is vegan and Arabella was being fussy. I need to go back with Pascal so we can properly get stuck in! For Arabella I ordered off the children's menu - she had cheese quesadillas. These were super simple and just contained plain melted cheese - we were expecting something a bit more exciting so Arabella was not impressed. I added the avocado to them which made them more tasty. We shared the "frijoles refritos" - the refried beans with crumbly cheese and this was absolutely delicious, we could have had one each and I would come back for this alone. This certainly made up for Arabella's quesadillas. I had two tacos - the first one was the "choriqueso" - house made Mexican chorizo rolled inside brown cheese with onion and coriander. This was pretty random in that it was a cheese tube and quite messy to eat but it tasted heavenly - very cheesy. I would have liked some guacamole with it but hadn't ordered any and was too hungry to wait! I also ordered the "conchinita pibil" - slow cooked pork marinated in achiote and citrus juice, house pickled Scotch bonnet, pick pickled onions and coriander. This was also very good but had quite a kick to it - I am not sure Pascal could have handled the spice! I didn't order anything else even though I was very tempted by the garlicky mushroom tacos and the beer battered pollock ones. It was super quick and very well priced and I left feeling satisfied. My sister and Arabella not so much but nothing some fruit and veg (my sister) and fruit
I’d been wanting to try Taqueria in Notting Hill for ages; their initial reviews when they just opened years ago were not promising but it says a lot when the restaurant is still there and is still bringing in the customers. Actually, perhaps that doesn’t
There are many wonderful things about La Taqueria, not least the extensive menu (there are around twenty different types of Taco alone) of what seems to be truly authentic Mexican fare. Unlike chains, nothing here is toned down for the bland, British palate and so what you're left with is full, flavoursome Mexican cuisine at an excellent price. It's also as much of a feast for your eyes as it is for your stomach because they've clearly taken time with their presentation too.
The decor leaves a little to be desired, but, as you'd expect from a genuine Mexican joint, the atmosphere is buzzy and fun. I believe this was helped along by the Shakira-lookalike hostess who flirted with everyone and made us feel welcome and cared for.
Wine and beer aren't cheap, but the cocktails are reasonably priced and pack a pretty punch.
Taqueria is in Westbourne Grove, established in May 2005, with its simply decorated dining room in two sections. It is a casual place with no tablecloths, the cutlery in boxes on each table. It serves Mexican food, which is something that London rarely does well. The menu offers a range of tacos, tostados and quesadillas, and there are some specials that change each month too. The head chef since August 2009 is Adam Pawlak, who previously cooked at places including the Alexander House Hotel in Sussex and the Mandeville Hotel in Marylebone. Although the dining room was fine, the restaurant has the distinction of having the smallest toilet I have ever encountered in all my years of travel, the door practically touching the toilet seat when you close it; not a triumph of interior design. There are a few wines (all but one under £20) and cocktails available, and Pacifico beer was £3.95. The soft corn tortillas are made here on the premises.
Guacamole with tortilla chips (£3.75) was very pleasant; guacamole is hardly a complex thing, but you need to get ripe avocados and keep the flavour in balance, which was done well here (12/20). Tacos de fideos (£5.50) with a filling including chorizo, spicy tomato sauce, crumbly cheese, coriander and onion had a good quality filling, but I wasn’t convinced by the texture of the tacos. In this case it was made by deep-frying angel hair pasta, then a second stage of ten minutes airtight-cooking in a heated pan. The resulting texture was neither crisp nor really soft, instead a not entirely satisfying compromise between the two, at least to my taste (11/20).
I preferred cochinita pibil (£6.50), slow cooked pork that had been marinated in citrus juice and achiote (also called annatto, seeds that have a peppery taste made into a paste), served with Scotch bonnet chilli and pickled pink onions on a trio of soft tacos. The tacos texture was good, the pork had enjoyable flavour, the onions adding a hint of sweetness (13/20). Service was well meaning and with two soft drinks the bill came to £24 per person. If you had something alcoholic and a dessert then the bill would be a bit higher than this.
At a second visit I was able to try more dishes. Flautus is a pair of rolled flour tortillas filled with chicken, tomatillo salsa, onion, lettuce and crumbly cheese. This was pleasant, the salsa good but not very spicy, the flour tortillas fried so they were crisp (11/20). Much livelier was tinga tacos, shredded chicken, onion, tomato and spicy chilli chipotle with a little avocado (12/20). Conchinita pibil, this time as a quesadilla, was very good, the texture of the quesadilla very enjoyable (12/20).
Huevas rancheros consisted of a pair of fried eggs on griddled tortillas, with a spicy onion, tomato and green chilli sauce that was surprisingly lacking in spice (11/20). Refried beans were much better than the slop that passes for the dish in most Mexican restaurants in London (12/20).
To finish churros were enjoyable and suitable sugary (12/20), while deep fried plantain was rich but very pleasant (12/20). The bill came to £24 a head, with friendly service from our Paraguayan waitress. Overall Taqueria was very pleasant and ambitious by London standards, clearly a step up from the Tex-Mex chains that infest the capital. Indeed it may currently be the best Mexican food in London. However I am still waiting for a really high-end Mexican restaurant to open in the UK of the calibre of Punto MX in Madrid.
Informal Mexican food. And genuine mexican food. None of that Tex Mex stuff you get in a lot of places. Great tacos and tostadas. Make sure to try the Fish Tacos. (From sustainable sources). Chorizo quesadillas and Pollo Milanese tacos are superb as well. Margaritas are brilliant too. Good collection of Tequilas and Mezcals at the bar as well. And if you have a sweet tooth my friends have told me the Hot chocolate and Churros are boss.
I loved the tortilla soup and bacalao ahumado. I went in for an early dinner and had good service. The carnitas were also good, however the pork was over cooked and quite tasteless.
Taqueira is a great lively place with good food and efficient service.
As they don't take any pre-reservations, we reached there little after lunch time (at around 2 pm) hoping to get a table soon, which we did right by the bar. We settled in with some margaritas (which were very delicious) and ordered Tinga Tacos which were served quickly and were made well, although we felt that Tacos had turned soggy very quickly, not that we kept them waiting for a long time. We're not the kinds who let food waiting to be eaten for a long time :)
We later ordered chicken quesadilla which tasted so well because of the great melted cheese they use.
Since the dishes are in Spanish we wanted to know if they serve the Mexican chilly cheese balls (which we have eaten at few places before) the waitress was confused before but she went in the kitchen to check it for us and said they'd do it but only after 4 pm, as there was still an hour to go in 4 pm, we left (although craving for those cheese balls) May be we'll go there again for dinner to try them out!
Overall, a good experience.
Pluses: tasty food, got to try a variety of items. Good for sharing
Cons: small portions, adds up and bill is just over 30pp.
We had 2 appetizers, quesadillas each, 2 margaritas, shared tacos and shared the banoffee dessert.
Service was fine. We didn't have reservations but we got a table for ample time.
All foods were tasty. Margarita was okay. Was expecting a fancier glass.
Me and my friend went here after our initial option was fully booked. This place was in my list and was nearby to where we were so we came here.
To my surprise the food was delicious and better than we expected. For starters we had calamari which was amazing. Thinly sliced and crispy on the outside. Lots of flavour and a kick from the spice which is always welcomed, paired with the garlic mayo sauce, simply one of the best calamari I’ve had.
Mains we had the toasted cheese with chicken tacos (the best) and grilled chicken with scotch bonnet chilli which was ok. It wasn’t as flavour full as the other one.
The drinks are really good and love the fact that they are all either tequila or mezcal based to make the Mexican alcohol shine
4/5 rating from me. The price is a bit high, easily coming up to £40/60 pp
Good atmosphere. Friendly staff. Stopped by to try Tres leche 🍰 I liked it 👌🏽 took it as gift to some Mexican friends who found it a bit dry so 4/5. Will come back to try tacos.
Food and service was amazing! Freshly prepared and delicious as well as super friendly staff. 5/5 and will definitely be back.
Great venue for some authentic Mexican food. Food was delicious but only 4 stars as the portion sizes were small.
Atmosphere was pleasant. Perfect for a couple, alone or with family.
Friendly staff, eager to serve and assist.
Overall, a fancier version of Wahaca.

The tuna tostada has too much guacamole and it ruins the rest of the flavour. The tarta tres leches is the best, it is indescribable to express how good it is. The calamare is delicious, as is the sea bass, pastor, birria… all excellent! Margaritas good too.
The waitress Mariana helped us with the menu and provided very good service, we definitely Will back. Thank you!
There is no reservation system for a Saturday lunch, so you need to go there and see. We arrived around 12:30pm and there was plenty of seating. The restaurant next door was packed, which made me question why there wasn’t many people visiting Taqueria. But boy are they missing out. There were dishes from all regions in Mexico, and they are authentically prepared. Everything we ate and drank were delicious, fresh and very satisfying. Our eyes were bigger than our tummies. We sat outside so it was more difficult to catch the staff’s attention, but they were friendly and accommodating. By the time we left the outside area was packed. I would definitely return, especially if you like real Mexican food. My Mexican friend who ate with me was very impressed too.
We went here on a Saturday afternoon. Glad we booked ahead, as it was very busy.
Nice buzz atmosphere with great taco choices.
There are a wide choice of drinks too.
The vegetarian selection is good and I would recommend the Taqueria for vegetarians with vegan choices too.
It is fairly expensive for a taco joint, but in line with the area.
It is definitely worth the visit.
The tacos are very good and tasty. 🌮🌮
We also ordered mango margaritas and they were spectacular!!
We had a great time! 🍹🍹
If there was a downside, it would be the quantity.
We will definitely be back.
Definitely not your average tacos. The aubergine and halloumi taco was off the charts amazing. And the service was lovely. They even brought the dog at the table next to us a bowl of water!
I found myself hungry and strolling around in Notting Hill and couldn't resist this cosy looking little restaurant. I had a charming experience sitting at the bar and people watching. I ordered three plates and I was very well fed - each taco is like a sandwich in size. The fish tacos were fresh, zingy and crispy and the cheese tacos were out of this world. I also enjoyed the aubergine taco which was lovely and tender. I'll definitely return.
Good quality, authentic tacos, tostadas and quesadillas, with a variety of each. The roadside chicken taco was some of the best tasting chicken I've had! Would definitely recommend for lunch, and will be coming back for dinner.
Lunch service was a little slow and needed reminding that we'd asked for e.g. water/the bill, but we went for a mid-week lunch so this is more understandable and didn't take away from the overall experience.
The margaritas are fantastic!
I like this Mexican. Its good and has plenty of vegetarian options. I liked the food and really liked the milk cake. Defo try the milk cake.
We spent 17 each (3 of us) and ordered 4 sharing dishes and 2 desserts. I think it's very good value. This was lunch so might have eaten more at dinner.
It was quite busy and we went at 1.15 on a Saturday. Probably best to book (we didnt)
Decent food and service but the size of the portions are too small for the price. Had the three salsa with chips and was disappointed. It tasted very bad. The fish tacos were the best! The roadside chicken tacos were tasty too. The aubergine halloumi taco was average.
Always have wanted to stop here for a bite.. and today I finally did!
Staff was welcoming and friendly and food was spot on. I had the chicken milanese tacos and nachos to start with. All in all a great meal .. quick and tasty
Really Tasty, great prices, felt like I was on holiday. Great decor and drinks selection also, many different Tequilas and Mezcals. Will definitely visit again.
We had a fantastic dinner. Food was delicious, full of flavour and well balanced. Jeff was a great waiter, and there was a nice atmosphere. We’re looking forward to coming back and trying other dishes!
Excellent tacos and quesadillas. Favourite was the mushroom quesadilla, but also loved the fish tacos, the milanesa and the pancita! Also love the fact that they have Corona beer. Highly recommended for the terrace and the atmosphere is really nice for a group of friends! Also they do great delivery, they are on deliveroo.
