I have been going here now for at least 20years. And I have never been disappointed it's a nice place to go for a quick drink with family or friends or a lunch time or evenning meal would recommend this to any one visiting Covent Garden
This is a lovely wine bar, the atmosphere is really great, inexpensive food and an extensive wine list. The street performers in the outside area really enliven the ambience. This is a great little place.
Great food, lovely atmosphere, good choice of port 🍷😄and excellent service. Highly recommend this place
Had afternoon tea here to celebrate our friends 40th birthday , lovely food , lovely staff who went above and beyond to make it a special day , one she won't forget , thank you . Would highly recommend .
Delicious sharing platter with separate cheeses. Great to sit in the sun listening to the string quartet.

Amazing!! Last meal in London before going back to America the next day! Loved our Italian waiter from Southern Italy - where we had just spent ten days on vacation!! :-)
Whenever I go to Covent Garden I head for the Crusting Pipe for lunch. The food is very good and the staff are always pleasant. To sit outside and enjoy the live music is a joy
We have been coming here for 20+ years and just love the atmosphere and the great selection of wine!
Enoying listen to all the talented singers and musicians.
Great atmosphere, great food and wine, friendly staff, always a favourite 😊
This was the second time I've been to Crusting Pipe - I love the atmosphere of the street performers and the English fare. Last night, I had ribeye steak and mashed potatoes with several glasses of Davey's Claret. The steak was cooked perfectly, and I ordered the green peppercorn sauce to go with it. Yummy!! For dessert, I ordered the vanilla pannacotta with strawberries. Wonderful!
Great aesthetic and service, and the food was delicious. Very convenient if you're going to Waterloo station or the Southbank Centre.Great aesthetic and service, and the food was delicious. Very convenient if you're going to Waterloo station or the Southbank Centre.
The food was good, filling and exactly what we ordered. The service was ok, staff are friendly.
The lighting were we sat was not good, too dark and we barely could read the menu!
The price was a bit on the high side!
This is the most friendly and comfortable restaurant in Covent Garden.. The staff are wonderful and very attentive .. Did not feel rushed or hurried.. Food great value for money.. Fresh and tasty.. Surroundings are cosy and great for people watching.. Try it.. You will not be disappointed... Wish I could have given it a 10..
First impression, cozy, warm, soft light and relaxing.
We opted to share the British cold cuts followed by Pork belly and Salmon salad.
The cold cuts platter was great and same for the salmon salad. However, the pork belly did not met the expectation and it revealed to be hard, chewy and the skin beside the fact that was crunchy showed the same.
Our waitress changed trough out the dinner and have the impression that we were their last table. We had to ask twice for the beverage order.
Not the right lunch selection!
After a lovely afternoon spent around the stalls of the market me and my friends decided to stop here and get the savoury afternoon tea. Absolutely fantastic! The teas are delicious and the selection of cheeses mouthwatering. We have even been treated to some sandwich and everything was perfect. The staff can be busy at times, but nothing unbearable. We got an "indoor" table but close to the windows so we have been able to enjoy the performances from the artists in the outside area. I will be back for more as this place not only is good, but is dress to impress.
For the price of a fairly standard London pub dinner you can escape the hustle and bustle of the touristy Covent Garden at this central, but secluded bistro pub in the heart of the square. Mains don't come in hearty portions and you may need to order a side, but the quality is that slight cut above any local taverns. Ideal for that right balance between settling for the nearest average gastro pub and a special occasion, right in the centre of town.
Hearty food, spectacular live music in the court yard, and a great wine list!
Great to go before a show - but service can be slow so be sure to leave a good amount of time!
This place is very authentic and has a wonderful atmosphere, with it being right in the center of covent Garden. I had the "Ardennes Pate", along with the "Crab & Prawn Linguine". The taste was fantastic and the entertainment superb. The food did take a long time to come but we were compensated with additional wine. There is a service charge added to the bill.
We typically visit the Crusting Pipe when we visit London. It's a great place to sit, people watch and enjoy the entertainment. We had a few snacks and a drink. Our server has worked there for 40 years and knows her stuff. We'll be back again next visit.
Nice restaurant. Ordered the seafood linguine and sausage and mash which were enjoyed, however the seafood linguine only came with prawns when it said assorted seafood on the menu. Live music from opera singers during lunch time- very interactive and fun! Would recommend.
Lovely wee restaurant in the lower courtyard at Covent Garden. There is a string quintette that busks here - and has done for many years. Lovely to sit and watch and listen, very good fun.
My friend and I had a wonderful afternoon Tea at the Crusting pipe on Saturday. The excellent staff service, especially the manager who served us made the experience perfect.
Will definitely come back next time we are in London.
Also great help given in tube stations back to our hotel in Watford!
Xx
Fish pie 🥧 was fantastic, creamy mushed potatoes , scallops, boiled egg.
Also we had cinnamon pears, well balanced not too sweet combined with coconut ice cream 🍨, so we loved it.
Service is pretty good , I can recommend for anyone who wants to get truly English Sunday roast.
* Vegan , vegetarian , pescatarian options available.
Great ambience. There was a tenor singing opera songs while we were there.
I don’t know about the food because I only had a drink.
As often the case in London, service can feel a little impersonal and rushed but good quality food, speediness of serving and great atmosphere in a courtyard of Covent Garden.
Great atmosphere and we had the charcuterie and cheese sharing platter. Lovely rose wine, recommended by our waiter. Plus the string quartet and singer were excellent.
This place has made me question previous 5 star reviews, because this place deserves 10!
A wonderful little atmospheric place in the heart of Covent Garden. Situated underneath the main plaza it's tucked nicely away. I'm not sure if there's step free access (I didn't see a lift). Super comfy layout with plenty of space to get around and not have a feeling of sitting on top of other diners.
I felt a Monday evening treat was due and opted for the sirloin steak. And what a treat. Cooked to perfection and oozing with taste. Accompanied with a great leaf salad it was delicious. It was melt-in-the-mouth standard. I'm not intelligent enough to put the appropriate words in just how amazing it was, I'll simply say, I suspect it'll be a long time before I have one better! And all for a very reasonable, I thought, £27.
A fantastic selection of wines for every palette (and pocket) but don't rush to the main wine list; the front page has some independent and low yield drops. I enjoyed a delicious red at £8 a glass.
Desert was the ever present Sticky toffee pudding. A fluffy and tasty slice accompanied with smooth and silky clotted cream was the perfect finale to a wonderful meal.
Service was too rate with polite and friendly staff (Thank you, Shirley) that added to a very pleasant experience.
Whole meal with drinks, 2 courses and coffee rounded to £50pp. Discretionary service charge of 6.5% is added to the bill and is included in the above. Very reasonable, I thought.
I suspect it gets busy pre-shows (it does a pre-show menu between 5-7) but I arrived at 8 and was seated immediately.
The Crusting Pipe in Covent Garden is a well-known and cozy wine bar and restaurant, known for its stylish ambiance and a delightful menu that pairs delicious food with a variety of wines. Situated in the vibrant heart of Covent Garden, it's a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. If you're looking for a place to enjoy good food and wine in a charming setting, the Crusting Pipe could be a great choice. Remember to check reviews and make reservations in advance, as it seems to be a popular destination.
Good food, good service, with live opera being sang at the outdoor covered area. You can have just a drink or a full meal. Inside or outside. Booking may be required for dining in.
Brilliant setting in the lower court of the old market. Free (collection plate) entertainment at the stairs by singers and musicians at most times. Food and drink available as an extra charge. Unique place to soak up the atmosphere.
Good Sunday roast. They dealt well with a large party. Busy and a good atmosphere. I thought the singing was actually miming for the most part.
Love this place. It's a slice of old London . Food is good as is the wine. Bonus is that you are serenaded by quartets and opera singers who busk in the courtyard
