I had the croque monsieur and I have to say, I have never been defeated by food before but this one was a killer. Absolutely delicious, don't get me wrong - this is the king of all croque monsieurs out there, but oh my it was definitely a portion for two people. As everything else in the shop really. But it is the American portion size. I had the cronut in NY and same reaction- I could not eat anything else the rest of the day! 😂 Not to mention the heart palpitations! I will probably need a year at the gym to burn all the calories but well worth it. 😆
A recent trip to London from visiting Australians saw us take cover in this beautiful bakery on a wet woolly cold day. Searching for a dry comforting spot had us enjoy a pot of tea with the best croissants ive ever tasted. So comfortable this bakery was surrounded by the smell of freshly baked french cakes that we ended up staying for lunch enjoying a pumpkin and chilli soup with feta teamed with parmesan croutons. Treat yourself to this wonderful hideout. Loved London.
Great place to enjoy world famous pastries such as Cronut,Frozen s’more and many more. After eating it in NYC and in Tokyo I have finally had Cronut in London. Service is kind and fast even though the place was super busy on Sunday afternoon. In order to be sure that I will get my Cronut I have pre-ordered it 3 weeks ago as last time I came on Friday at 2pm and it was sold out.
Strongly recommend everyone to visit this place
Yes it's busy, yes it's loud but you come for the food!!! Croque Monsieur is expensive at £10.95 but it's enough for 2 people and it is amazing! Given that it's definitely being washed down with a number of cakes, it works perfectly. Cronut was amazing. Banoffee Paella was the best version of Banoffee pie I've ever had. Topped it off with a chocolate & coconut croissant which was rich and full of flavour. Absolutely amazing food. If you don't live with a stick in your ass, you'll be just fine 🖒
The Frenchman that brought you the cronut, in New York, has opened a popular shop in London’s Belgravia area. The shop is all white so that the beautifully colored confections really pop against the white background making it a popular place for Instagram photos. The baked goods are great as if the coffee. A great place for families.
Quite the best and most imaginative afternoon tea we have had - with a flower theme it is a perfect Chelsea Flower Show treat!
We came for a visit to London from stoke on trent it was well worth it if you like a little treat them this is the place for you we will return soon
Highly recommend the chocolate and coconut croissant! Will definitely be making DAB the first stop on my future London trips.
I found sweet desserts a bit too sweet. Why am I complaining? May I was expecting it to blow my mind away and not having hard time finishing these desserts.
Something was missing. Contrasting texture or taste to go with sweet, may be?
Although despite my doubt, we’d ordered some savory food that turned out to be superb.
Must try egg burger. Very few veg options available.
Staff is incredibly nice and ambience is great!
The kind of place you visit at least once every few months. So many delectable treats that are both delicious and beautiful. Bright interior, friendly staff. Seating could be more comfortable. Make sure you get there before 1pm to guarantee a Cronut (the invention that made Dominique Ansel famous). If definitely recommend trying the cookie shots and taking the DKA home as a second treat. You won't be disappointed!
The food and ambiance were excellent. Dominique Ansel Bakery’s take on traditional high tea is modern and delicious. The savory sandwiches are uniquely crafted. The service is not good and definitely puts a damper on the experience. Given the price point and ambiance you’d expect the service to be more refined. The waiters were clumsy and not properly trained - from spilling food to pouring a glass of champagne with a nearly empty bottle, it simply put a bit of a damper on the experience overall.
If you are in London this is a must do experience. Reservations are required and are easily done on their website. The bakery itself has many delights but the tea was good. I didn't think I would be as full as I was! Each piece was delicious and the tea was great. Service was wonderful. For 1 person, total with prossecco was 61 pounds. Worth it!
My friend and I met at this bakery for desserts. The Blackberry Meringue pastry was extremely delicious. The creme inside was very delicious and filled with some blackberry cream. The fruit was very fresh. I didn’t try the chocolate pastry but she said it was tasty! I’d definitely recommend Dominique Ansel to everyone. It’s a very cute little restaurant.
Amazing high tea! Their scones with the innovative strawberry jam and clotted cream in one are an absolutely gorgeous treat. The whole meal is delicate and gorgeous but surprisingly very filling, though we couldn’t help sharing the watermelon soft serve afterwards. Beautiful service and very accommodating booking system.
Went for late afternoon coffee and cake with a friend visiting London. Cronuts was tasty, worth a try. Cakes were yummy. We had the Zahra Rose and Paris/London which were not overly sweet which is perfect. Coffee was average. Bit pricey for what we had but suppose paying for the great location. Staff were friendly overall. worth a visit.
OMG!!!! I felt like a kid in a candy store. Everything looked so pretty and yummy! The cronuts were unfortunately sold out, so we're going to come back for that. We had quite a few options and all desserts were well balanced and not too sweet. My favourite one was mont blanc! Service was very good and polite. Maybe the only downside is the location, but everything else is perfect! Well done!
Dominique Ansel sells some of the most gorgeous desserts. Lovely cakes, great interiors and good coffee. Slightly pricey, but you realize it's worth it given their attention to the details.
What an incredible, edible Afternoon Tea experience! I'm a born and raised Londoner and have afternoon tea at most of the big name places but Dominique Ansel have created something very special. They take you on a journey from seed, to shoot, to leaf, to blossom to full-bloom flower...in food! The attention to detail is wonderful, the flavours are subtle and delicious and the service was impeccable. What a genius idea to create a chocolate strawberry with clotted cream and jam inside to squish on to a warm scone! Yum! We opted for the Splendid Tea which, along with squid ink brioche with mushroom or avocado tastiness and crab delights, comes with lobster rolls and caviar - SO good! The champagne was delicious and perfectly cold and the Dominique Ansel tea was fruity and fresh and a perfect compliment to the intricate, bursting with flavour sweet 'blossom' and 'flower' cakes. We were even given forget-me-not seeds to take home to carry on growing...a lovely touch and we most certainly won't forget the afternoon! Thank you!
Place was really nice thought I thought the way servers were fantastic dot-dot. The picture is of the tea time that we had the standard one. It is a little bit pricey it's about 40 pounds a piece. But the food itself was fantastic and if you go there hungry you're going to leave more than full just eating the tea time. The T itself was very very good and they will keep refilling your water with your tea pot each time you go in there or ask for it. Food itself was very good it had 5 Savory in for sweet ones by themselves and then you get scones with clotted cream and Jam inside strawberries. And it was very good. Like I said when you go there hungry you will leave fool for sure especially with just a little bites. Each bite is about to or so mouthfuls for each little desert they have. Parking is a little tricky it's by the meter but it's not as bad as some of the roads inside of London so we were able to find parking right next to the bus terminal twice without any issues. The inside all the pastries are fantastic if you get them separate and the chocolate cake is very very rich.
Went here for the Valentine's Afternoon Tea, and it was an amazing experience. The concept ideas for their sandwiches and sweets were very clever. And the idea for their scones was brilliant. The young gentleman who was serving everyone who had booked this experience, was very friendly and efficient. Also got to take home their front of the month, which had nutella and raspberry jam inside, tasting a cronut was a first for me, and it was delicious, and a very interesting concept. So if you get the chance to go here, it is well worth the trip.
The cronut is one of the best sweets in the world! It is crispy and flaky outside and soft and creamy inside. Perfect sweetness and so addictive.
I also tried the Mini-Me Cake which was simply perfect as well. Every piece of them look so pretty. I will need a few more visits to try them all...
The croissant was ok but not as extraordinarily as the rest of what I ate.
I made the mistake of eating in and paying a lote more than I thought. Next time would just takeaway, although the interior is very modern looking with a pretty outdoor area. The pastries themselves were good. Their strawberry mousse cake was very pillowy and soft. The london brest pastry was a little dry for me though. Overall would visit again to try their other options.
