In love with the ambience and atmosphere of this place. The staff is highly professional and friendly, the service is prompt and punctual and the hygiene is always up to standards as well.
Rosa's is an awesome place for Thai food. I had tried their Tom Yum Soup, Som Tam, Pad Thai noodles and all the dishes were so flavourful and authentic. Do visit this place if you want to have the best of Thai cuisine.
Tasty food at a good price. Busy but cosy environment and nice staff. Tofu and vegetables pad thai as the main course and sticky rice with mango for the dessert were definitely good choices.
Enjoyed eating Thai food here. The curries were good. We got a table in the lower ground which was a bit cramped but the food was good and we enjoyed it.
Drunken Noodles. Spicy piece of heaven. Amazing concoction of Thai spices and noodles. Don’t forget to order a side of the chicken satay. Simply delicious.
The name of Rosa’s originally comes from the previous owner of their very first location. Times have changed and now they’re are ten Rosa’s restaurants around London. That’s some Thai food domination right there. I popped into the Soho branch of Rosa’s ready for a spicy bite to warm up my mid-Summer blues (this is London). I had the two chilli pepper-rated Drunken Noodles (£9) and these did the trick, on account of setting my mouth on fire. Safe to say, it’s quite a spicy bite. This is flavoured by a basil sauce, and Thai herbs, this gives it a lovely authentic flavour. As a starter I went for the pork skewers (£5), these felt a little expensive for what you get but are nicely seasoned. The skewers come with super sweet tamarind sauce which provides an ideal contrast to the meat. Pork always does so well coupled with sweet notes in my books. Overall, it was a nice, affordable meal at Rosa’s in a cosy (and dry!) setting. I did find the spice levels for the noodles extreme for my palate but the quality is there.
Rosa's is one of my regular haunts. The Quality of food is always amazing! Eveyr dish I've tried is flavourful and authentic. Staff have always been very nice too. Never had a dish I haven't enjoyed here.
This may look like a low budget Mom and Pop Thai cafe but believe me the quality of food served were just amazing. Fantastic authentic Thai cuisine and very friendly service from the whole family who runs the restaurant. I will come back here again. Kudos!
I don’t have any younger siblings, so I have never had to deal with having children around the house. Honestly, it sounds like a nightmare to me – older siblings you all deserve medals for putting up with us! But my flatmate is lucky enough to have a younger sister with whom she gets on very well. Now that Amber is 18 and a student in London, she was keen to branch out and try some independent restaurants to start “exploring her culinary horizons.” And so it came to pass that we ended up in Soho on a Saturday evening expanding our palates at Rosa’s Thai Cafe. I suppose that for some, Thai food does not constitute a wild and wonderful foray into global cuisine, but remember we were all young once so there’s a first time for everything. Now as a student, cheap and cheerful was an absolute requirement and a quick look over the menu online meant that Rosa’s fit the bill – personally I don’t rate Thai Square or Busaba Eathai so was also on the look-out for a new cheap Thai restaurant of choice. My only reservation about going for Thai food was that I was lucky enough to spend part of January in Thailand and so had been a bit spoiled by the incredible breadth of cuisine they have there.
Again, dinner!
We just walked in to this restaurant and found the last table avelaible.
Food was good, traditional and authentic. Portion were generous and service friendly.
Have been wanting to go here for a while. Finally i got the chance today. The restaurant is not too big but looks organized & very clean. I ordered thai calamari as starter, it was tasty in a small plate. Main course was tom yum seafood, it was amazingly refreshing, perfect balance in the flavor. I surprised they have thai iced tea that taste really good for my standard, perfect! My dessert was mango & sticky rice, taste also really good. Definitely will go back here again.
I'm eating around the world without leaving London and this week I had Thai food at Rosa's Thai Cafe in Soho. When it comes to eating Thai food in the capital, we are truly spoilt for chose. So much so, that I wasn’t sure where to go for this one. I ended up picking Rosa’s as I had been there before and liked its food and low-key atmosphere and its super central location on Soho’s Dean Street.
Authentic and tasty Thai food served in a non pretentious, classic soho, intimate canteen style restaurant. A perfect pick for catching up with friends after a long time or a quick meal before heading to the theatre or a night out. Great wine menu too!
Went here for a pre-theatre meal. Ordered the duck curry and their special vegetable dish which is stir-fry egg plants, some jasmine rice and sticky rice. The food came pretty quick which was great because we were running a bit late. The duck curry was very nice and refreshing, sticky rice was fragrantly soft and chewy. The egg plant stir-fry was nice enough but not too greasy. Overall good experience will come back again if I'm in London again!
Really amazing food and not to spenny!! The employees are really caring they will accommodate your needs! Try their prawn crackers and the pineapple fried rice! They get the food out fast and it tastes delicious. Sometimes there might be a queue because the place is small but worth it!
I don't know what all the hate is for. I love this place and the food is outstanding. I had a ginger tea (real ginger) Tom yum soup was awesome and beef vegetable stir fry was outstanding. Nice service and great prices too. I'm coming back!
Yum curries. I went with two friends on a Tuesday night. We were worried that we might not get a space as we couldn't book but it was fine. Good road for going out, friendly welcoming staff who despite it being quiet were not over-attentive. The food was great. I had thai calamari to start and red thai curry for a main with coconut rice and with a couple of beers it came to just over twenty pounds. I'd definitely go again. I know some reviews have said that it wasn't completely authentic but it tasted the same as much of the food I had in Thailand and used some of the ingredients that you don't see over here that often such as the baby aubergines.
Before I left for Paris I visited Rosa's, the relaxed cafe in Soho which has a reputation for good, fast, cheap Thai food. I'd only ever walked past before because it's always full. With a couple of tables outside, it's one of those places in summer with a little cluster of people out on the pavement - here drinking Chang beers - waiting for a table, so I decided to actually book ahead and see if it deserves to be on my list of London's best Asian restaurants along with Blue Elephant and Wabi . The informal space strikes a balance between cosy and crowded and upon entering we were wedged in between a table of American jocks and a bunch of screeching girls. Hmm. I don't know if it was the acoustics, but everyone was rather loud and it was difficult to maintain a conversation without venturing into yelling territory. Still, that's not the restaurant's fault. The food, however, was great. The menu has all the classics and old favourites you'd expect and modern takes on tradition
Their menu has a load of choice on offer for vegetarians and meat eaters within various categories including stir fried dishes, curry dishes, char-grilled dishes, rice and salads.
Luscious Temptations
+4.5
...I promised myself I would return - not just to take photos, mind ... but also because the food was rather tasty and deserved another visit.
My favourite is Rib-eye Yang (char-grilled rib-eye beef served with spicy dry chilli sauce and cooled steamed vegetables). I had a good feeling about it when the waiter asked us how we wanted
Come here if : you need a quick spicy hit of authentic Thai or are angling for a reliable dinner option. I'm a sucker for Thai food. Often claiming it's a healthy option, I'll quite happily drag people along to Rosa's whenever I'm nearby. Despite the extensive menu here, I always get menu tourettes in Thai restaurants. This goes double for starters, no matter how many times I think about the Poo Nim Thai Herb (Deep-fried soft shell crab topped with Thai herbs, shallots and spicy fresh chilli sauce) and it's chewy salty fresh goodness, I end up with their, admittedly excellent, fried and fresh spring rolls.
I found Rosa's by a chance when I was in Westfield's food court because my mum wanted asian food for dinner. It was probably my first time eating a legit padthai in London. Then I found out Rosa's in Dean st and I became their regular customer ordering the same padthai all the time. Their padthais taste great and somewhat authentic comparing to other thai restaurant I've been to. For their padthais, they have 3 varieties: prawn, chicken, and vegetable and tofu padthai. My go to meal is always prawn padthai. Nothing goes wrong with this classic Thailand dish. The seasoning game is on point, not too bland not too strong. The portion is really satisfying plus it is considerably cheap for eating out a good food in Central London. On each table, they will give you 3 glasses of condiments, chilli powder, chilli oil and sugar. I always put these 3 on my padthai. FYI, do not put a lot of chilli powder onto your dish even though you are a spicy-food lover like me because the chilli powder is really spicy! Other than padthai, I've tasted a bit of their green curry and veg spring rolls, both are ok! But for the spring rolls, I wouldn't order it again because it tastes boring. I can not say much about the drinks because not a big fan of a really sweet thai iced tea.
The price as I said before it is cheap for that satisfying portion (£9-11) and the service is average. The restaurant is rather small and for the first timer, it might be hard to find the restaurant because their logo is small. The ambience in Rosa's is really friendly and homey.
I have tried and been to other thai restaurant around London, from the cheaper ones and the more expensive ones but Rosa's is definitely my fav thai restaurant in London. If only they have a loyalty card, I would definitely get a free lunch or dinner hahaha.
I arrived to this restaurant by chance. I was looking for another place to eat but as London Soho was too crowded and my stomach was getting desperate I suddenly reached this small and cute place which menu seemed to be all of my taste.
They have a complete menu of most representative dishes of Thai Cuisine. Plenty of starters, salads, soups, noodles, char grilled, stir fried, curry and vegetables.
We started with Vegetable Spring Rolls, fresh and tasty apetizers that never fails and then Pad Thai, stir fried egg noogles with prawns, and a beautiful Pineapple that was filled with seafood and jasmine rice.
All fragant dishes!!
More cute than swanky. Rosa’s doesn’t look like a standard Thai restaurant but this is part of its appeal. The warm inviting red exterior leads into a light timber lined room, filled with chunky wooden table, quirky red stools and low level lighting. In this way Rosa’s fulfills the requirements of being a restaurant in Soho; unique decor, cosy but small size and exciting food.
Would I Want Seconds?Yes. Rosa’s serves up what it calls modern Thai cuisine in a very modern setting, and it does this very well. The food is fresh and light with snatches of the authentic tastes of Thailand’s market stalls. Portion sizes are substantial but this doesn’t lead to a loss of flavour; instead the curry dishes are not overwhelmingly large and saucy, and the stir fries are not just piles of bean sprouts. Instead thought has gone into balancing out the different ingredients placed on the plate, creating Thai treat.
Their menu has a load of choice on offer for vegetarians and meat eaters within various categories including stir fried dishes, curry dishes, char-grilled dishes, rice and salads.
Could I Afford Seconds?
Yes. Main courses cost approximately £9 - £13 which is perfect for the quality, portion and taste of the dishes. Though the food is so scrumptious I would suggest trying their starters as well! They also have various lunch deals on offer which are sign posted outside on a charming old school chalk board.
Overall:
Rosa’s is the perfect restaurant for a warming relaxed meal in the West End. The food served is ideal for both lunch and dinner and bound to cater to a variety of taste buds. If looking to dine in the area, Rosa’s should definitely be your first choice.
Great smiles from our server, delicious Red Curry and basil rolls, and quick service at lunch. The "definitely some spice" is no joke. We got lit up😄 Peanut sauce was the best I've ever had. Would recommend.
Overall great food (8/10). We ordered the shared platter for starter which had a perfect selection of items. There was a good selection of food and drinks. Staff were friendly but could have been a bit more accommodating. Only a minor issue but would have made the experience that bit better. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for an authentic Thai!
I’d heard great things about Rosa’s Thai so had to book dinner here during a visit to London last week.
It’s a busy place, with people coming and going often and there’s a good buzz about the place.
The menu is good with a good selection of dishes. I had beef massaman with sticky rice and it was delicious.
The only slight downside is that we were seated close to the door, and with everyone coming and going it got a bit cold with the wind. If you’re booking, then best ask for a table away from the door.
Overall though, it was great and I’d return in an instant.
I have been to different Rosa around London for quick meals, and this branch definitely standouts in service and taste.
The food was very nice. I ordered glass noodles salad, grilled pork salad, and sweetcorn salad from the special menu and they were all fantastic. The service was great. The staff, Billy, was very friendly and attentive.
Food is amazing. Bubble tea also really good.
Staff is a bit slow - you have to call their attention a lot to be seated/served.
I came here with my mom, her friend and her daughter yesterday, it was amazing! The young waiter was really patient and lovely the food was really good and tasty! I don't know if I'll come here again since I leave london soon but the next time I will definitely eat here again!
The blond girl that was working that afternoon she was very lovely. Explained us what was halal and not multiple times because we kept getting confused. Also very hard working, she’s was taking orders, running the food, making drinking, serving the food and cleaning up. Definitely need a raise xx
Excellent food and excellent service. But it is small and it is busy, but that it is so busy is a testament to how good it is. I think given the current inflation pressure the food is reasonably priced and is incredibly tasty. It is well decorated and I really enjoy the colourful aesthetic. I was happy for the amount of King prawns I received with my pad thai and the crispy onions in the pad thai absolutely took it to another level.
Having been to Thailand for a few times, I can say that this restaurant has authentic Thai food! The food is amazing and the price is reasonable considering the serving. I think this is a must Thai restaurant to visit and experience. I would highly commend their staff named Ally. She is very approaching and always asks how her customers are doing. If you get to visit here, look for her. Thank you!
Great food with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Also wide range of spice levels from mild to heavy, highly recommend sharing dishes across the entire group.
Recommend reservations - Soho district gets crowded in evenings. There is extra seating located downstairs.
It was excellent restaurant, the best option for Celiac disease in London,
The staff are very professional and understands what is gluten-free food😙and vegetarian, so if you starved hop on!!!
Dinner for two at Rosa's Thai last night was wonderful, the food was brilliant and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Particular thanks goes to our server Elliot, who squeezed us in around booking and was an all round great guy.
Thanks Elliot and the rest of the team!
Thank you Elliot for the great service! Didn’t have a booking but he managed to fit us in on a busy Saturday night and the food still came out so quick! The boozy iced tea was a great recommendation too 🫶🏼
Authentic, fresh, healthy and delicious- great for lunch on your own and with friends and friendly staff - thank you!
As usual a lovely experience. Staff friendly, I had Thai fried rice with chicken and extra chicken satay, delicious & yummy, and good portions! The home made lemon ice tea is very nice, proper. Tad strong so I diluted it with some water.
I come here every once in a while, always a happy customer.
Delicious food, tasty drinks and service with a smile. I would recommend booking as they tend to get busy, I walked up and luckily managed to get a table outside (there are a couple). Very much enjoyed this visit, will be coming back for sure!
