Quality food, Enjoyed the sushi so much esp with freshly grounded wasabi. When it come to sushi in london I'm mostly disappointed but not at Aqua Kyoto. Every tiny detail of dishes we ordered was perfect worth the price.
Staffs were friendly and welcome us from ground floor onward dispite previous comment about dress code. (We turned up very casual ,tshirt and jeans)
Busy Saturday evening with husband and son. The food was beautiful, presented as little works of art. Good choice of sake. The service was a bit disorganised, but okay. Disconcertingly loud thumpy music throughout the meal, unfortunately. But all worth it for some of the best food I've had for a long time.
Great food, perfect for those on a diet, I ate lots but never put on weight, felt full without feeling bloated. Delicious gin & tonics keep it up folks
Looks like a great place for summer with its outdoor bar.
A great place to either start your evening or end your evening or just eat
Had a weekend bottomless brunch and could not fault any of it. For me the sushi and prawn tempura were the highlight dishes but it was all absolutely delicious. The service was top notch and restaurant has a good atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this and I would book it again.
Had a lovely time celebrating my birthday. The food and the atmosphere was amazing. There is a lively buzz in the main restaurant but not loud that you can't speak to each other! The only downside was that it did take some time before a waiter came to take our order and then we had to always catch his eye to order anything else. A little more attention would have been appreciated. The upside was that I was treated to a complimentary glass of champagne! All was well in the world..
Amazing sunday lunch here - food was divine and staff amazing. a special mention for our waitress Raquel who looked after us so well and has always made our experience special
Fantastic tasting food and desserts - would highly recommend it too anyone
Been for dinner and drinks 8+ times, never had a bad experience. Staff are attentive and polite. Menu is always changing, new cocktails always on the menu, Best restaurant in London
It is 5pm on Sunday, and summer is officially here and I’m not going to miss one ray of sunshine by sitting indoors. So when its more than 16 degrees outside, what do you do? Go to a rooftop terrace and enjoy life! – I chose Aqua Kyoto!
(its probably going to rain tomorrow)
I have eaten in Aqua but it was a while back, and this time, we decided to get some cocktails. I wish I spent more time taking pictures of the views, as they were beautiful and you can literally see the whole of London from where I was standing. The crowd is a little young; 20’s –mid 30’s and I would suggest going between Thursday’s- Sunday’s as these days seem to have a vibrant and buzzing crowd. My choice of drink was a pornstar martini made by an amazing Italian bartender, whose name I cannot pronounce but he did well. Very strong but yet so sweet! Next time I will definitely be going back to try their Sunday infinity brunch ☺
I probably sound like a broken record saying this, but Japanese food really is my guilty pleasure. The quality of the seafood is some of the best in the world, you can indulge till your hearts content and still feel like you’ve eaten healthy and then of course you’re spoilt with some incredible tasting sakes. Japanese dining for me is always exciting and so I was glad to be enjoying my favourite cuisine once again at the rather gorgeous Aqua Kyoto.
I’ve recently rediscovered an old favourite of mine… A spirited drinking and dining destination off Regent Street, with rooftop vistas across central London. The perfectly crisp weather of late presented the perfect opportunity to enjoy the spoils of the Hanging Gardens of Aqua Kyoto, whilst things took a spookily glamorous turn this Halloween at the adjoining Spanish-inspired bar, Aqua Nueva…
i love the restaurant in this place
lovely decor great food and great service
always a pleasure to come back to the restaurant!!
give you 5 stars because the restaurant is that good!!!
never mind the bar, maybe they have different managers..
at the bar theres only 1, sometimes you can wait up to 30 minutes for a drink when busy and the crowd can be a bit chavtastic' sorry just being honest.. some of the waitresses that go around the tables give you attitude.. oh well been there enough times.. thats why i only like going to the restaurant.
All four of us ordered the same thing off the lunch menu (the choice was very limited, with 2 choices for course 1, and 3 choices for course 2). The presentation, however, was impeccable. The sushi tasted so fresh, and it made me ashamed of all those times I hit up Wasabi to satisfy my sushi cravings. It’s far better to skip that a few times, and save that money to have really nice sushi here!
As I’ve got older I’ve started to prefer spending my birthday with a few close friends. Rather than having a big party and getting horrifically drunk with everyone I’ve ever met, instead I decided would get horrifically drunk with ten of my close friends. The venue of choice actually turned about to be absolutely ideal. I’ve visited the bar at Aqua on Regent Street several times and I just love the lively vibe there and having drinks on the outdoor terrace in summer. Aqua is actually a complex made up of Aqua Nuevo (tapas), Aqua Kyoto (Japanese) and Aqua Spirit (the bar); of course as sushi is my favourite it was the cuisine of choice for my birthday bash. The private dining room at Aqua Kyoto actually couldn’t have been more perfect. It’s sort of glass box at the front of the restaurant which meant we could still enjoy the lively atmosphere but had the privacy of our own room. Inside the room was a round table for 10 people which made it was easy for us to talk, share food and generally get drunk together.I’m someone who loves to stay in touch with people and I still have friends from all my many walks of life but my oldest friends are from school and university. Kelly, Anna, Lauren and Gemma (left to right) have been my friends for many years – I won’t say how many cos that really would be revealing my age – and I’m so glad we’ve all stayed in touch for so long. The girls and their other halves had all come along to join Mr S and I in celebrating me getting another year older. With there being a group of us, it was easier to dine from the set menu, which was great as I liked the look of everything on it anyway. Champagne was poured for everyone and several beautifully presented platters of sashimi were bought out for us to get started on. We particularly loved the salmon, tuna and yellow tail, though the jury was out a bit on the prawns but in our group, everything was certainly eaten and enjoyed. I’ve mentioned before I’m not too keen on spinach and sesame as it has a rather cloying taste but the waiter kindly brought out an alternative to the set menu and we also enjoyed some charred asparagus as our vegetable option. Outside our glass box, the restaurant was lively and buzzing and we could actually see the sushi chefs preparing the food. Mr S and I are big fans of the restaurant as it’s a great roof top venue with a view over the city, we also absolutely loved the Aqua in Hong Kong. Here a Japanese and Italian menu is served in the high rise and super glamorous restaurant I highly recommend it if you’re ever there. You can even take a ride on their own junk ship before your meal, which is a great experience, though try not to do it while jet lagged as you might fall asleep as I did!I mentioned in my Maze Grill post how I’m set to be bridesmaid for my friend Anna. Here’s the lady herself with her fiancé Matt, still the picture of calm with the wedding five months away!Next out was a big group favourite, tempura shrimp, beautifully crisp and non-greasy. Followed by black cod and suckling pork, by now the memories are a bit hazy so apologies for lack of descriptions but we were certainly enjoying the food and the restaurant’s buzzy atmosphere. We loved the sushi selection so much, we went ahead and ordered more, especially as I felt I hadn’t quite got my sushi fix from Sexy Fish the previous night. The wonderful night passed so quickly and soon cake was presented to a very happy and very drunk birthday girl. Fortunately I had Mr S (ever the knight in shining armour) to make sure I got home safely. He’s much more sensible than I am. I truly felt the effects the next day, but it was a totally wonderful birthday party and Aqua was the perfect venue with great food, atmosphere and the ideal private dining room.
Aqua Kyoto is one of those places which offer an experience, something more than just a Japanese dinner.
First of all, you reach the top floor of the building by a private lift, doors open into a lovely reception desk were to hand in your coats and get info about your booking. A soon as we get into it, we realice the great atmosphere. The binchotan (Japanese charcoal) deco of the spirit bar roof surprised me in a positive way, it was a saying: robatayaki (Japanese grill)... Yeah!
The decor was very lovely, all black and dark lighting, the centre piece, which was a massive red hanging lantern was just above between the sushi bar and the robata grill took my daughter breath away, the amazing music was loud enough to have a conversation and to create a nice atmosphere without dominating the entire experience. The service was simply outstanding, helpful and very friendly, they looked after us all night long with a big smile and sympathy.
Regarding the food, I could tell you for sure they really know what they do... And they do it very well, because everything was amazing.
We ordered some edamame as a appetizer while we took a look at the menu, suddenly after a couple of minutes we had them on the table, it was so fast that we couldn't believe it. We were recommended by the waitress, who kindly made some suggestions like the great hamachi jalapeño with Japanese plum or umeboshi, we decided to have a wagyu beef gyozas with onion miso and ponzu pearls, they were more than oishii (delicious in Japanese), loved the enoki kurobuta pork kushiyaki, it was so umami, the soft shell crab and the rock shrimp tempura were crunchy and well cooked, not oily at all, then they brought us a shiitake negi yaki (shiitake mushroom yakitori with garlic butter sauce) nice option for vegetarians, my little princess was more than happy with the otoro, sake and maguro sashimi, (3 pieces each) and for the salmon and tuna hosomaki as well, the sushi rice was perfect, the size, the taste for the salt, sugar and vinegar balance was more than excellent, it spread in our palate, I can not remember the last time that I eat a really good and well execute piece of sushi, domo arigato to the itamae.
I did not drink sake that night but saw the sake list, it was very short, but had some good selection of Junami, Ginjo, Daiginjo and plum sake, they only have Kirin beer, not Asahi or Sapporo.
For the dessert we went for the out of this world super amazing black sesame fondant, the first time that I see a kurogoma fondant, it took like 15 minutes, so be patient and the chocolate "domo" nice textures of ginger and chocolate mix.
We had a really good time and experience, totally recommended.
If you are visiting London, definitely worth it.
Top service, great drinks and delicious food. I am a big fan of Japanese cuisine so I was never going to complain 😊 food is art was the theme! Only small downer was the relatively small servings...
Aqua Kyoto does high-end Japanese in the swankiest way possible. The entrance to the restaurant is through a ground floor lobby, decked out in deep crimson where a doorman awaits to direct diners to a lift that takes you up to the lavishly finished fifth floor. The first half of Aqua Kyoto is composed of the bar area, Aqua Spirit, which is surrounded by kimono silk padded booths. This leads onto a dramatic dining room where the main show piece is a sunken sushi bar where diners can watch their meals being expertly made.
I have never eaten here but been a few times for drinks. I really like the vibe inside Aqua, its somewhere between bar and club with good music and a good crowd. They also serve some pretty sophisticated cool drinks with the lychee martini being a stand out for me (very manly I know). It's a great place to be on a summer evening with the open terrace

The dining area is decked out fashionably in black and crimson red and there is also gigantic red lantern in the centre of the room resulting in a very swanky dining room.
Would I Want Seconds?
The set menus offered by Aqua Kyoto are a popular draw, both at lunch and dinner. We also booked a set menu which included three courses.
I ordered some sashimi to start include salmon and tuna which arrived decadently presented over a bowl full of ice and plenty of foliage. It was obvious that the sashimi was fresh from the taste, however it was quite cold due to the lashing of ice it was served on. The presenting of this dish was quite a novelty and it was obvious by now that Aqua Kyoto places a considerable amount of effort in delivering on appearances.
For my main course I tried the salmon ramen bowl. This arrived as a good portion size and included plenty of vegetables such as carrots and spinach, however I did need to add lashings of soya sauce to add to the flavour as without this it would have been more on the bland side.
My dessert was again beautifully presented, and this proved to be a strength of Aqua Kyoto. I tried the green tea flavoured cake served with ice cream, which was delicious and my favourite dish of the meal.
Aqua Kyoto is also well known for its bar and the cocktails we tired included Yuzuama Bellinis and Knickerbockers, both of which were delectable.
Could I Afford Seconds?
Aqua Kyoto is a high end restaurant and the prices on the a la carte menu reflects this. However the restaurant often offers set menus which makes the experience of dining at Aqua Kyoto much more affordable.
We opted for a set menu which included 3 course and a welcome cocktail for £29. This worked out as very good value for money considering ordering similar dishes from the a la carte menu can cost much more. This is especially the case if you choose from the larger dishes such as the pot roasted lobster with lime leaf for £39.50 or the wagyu beef sirloin for £38.
The cocktails are also at the pricy end of the scale, costing between £11- £13 for a standard sized drink.
Overall: 3/5
Aqua Kyoto is a very glossy restaurant and the décor is certainly well composed. However it’s not the type of restaurant you would go to in order to experience the best or most authentic sushi in London.
The best part of Aqua Kyoto is the lovely rooftop garden at the end of the restaurant. This big open terrace is a well-designed area and offers plenty of seating overlooking Regent Street. There are certainly some stunning views to take in from here at sunset and is almost good enough to make me recommend Aqua Kyoto.

As a food blogger I probably shouldn’t pick favourites, but Japanese food gets me every time – provided of course that it’s well executed. From previous experience, too awful to name, I’ve come to regard the more upmarket and showy restaurants with suspicion. More than once I’ve been to one ridiculously expensive Japanese restaurant or other, that turns out to be all style and very little substance. With this in mind I don’t at first have high hopes for Aqua Kyoto.
Had an impromptu after work dinner here and really enjoyed myself. The food was delicious (especially the crispy tofu) and I left feeling nicely satisfied. The service was friendly and attentive and the ambience was the cherry on the top...it's all quite understated glamour. I would definitely recommend a visit here and am already considering celebrating my birthday there!
Food was delicious, service was fast, friendly & so welcoming! Had a lovely meal and my girlfriend even spilled her full drink and they quickly replaced it with a new one without us asking. Very happy with our experience, great place to take someone on a date or just to impress! Trendy atmosphere .... only downside was the bar did have some sketchy looking guys & girls clearly there just to be seen ..... and dressed bit trashy...... but loved the restaurant & would def go back!
Top Quality Japanese. I was hesitant about booking Aqua Kyoto for a family party having had mediocre reports of its soft opening from a knowledgeable friend, but I should not have worried.
You enter through a dark cavern of an entrance opposite the Palladium and take a lift to the top of the old Dickins & Jones building where you are greeted by name - as the result of giving it to the doorman at the entrance - setting the scene for a seriously impressive experience. True, the decor is more Hong Kong nightclub than Japanese, but we were immediately taken with the space and lack of crowding - though the room was full. We sat at a comfortable banquette table where talk was eminently possible and were served by a Japanese waitress who explained the dishes to us carefully, Zuma-style, but also managed to impress my wife, who is herself Japanese, with her knowledge.
We had a dazzling array of dishes; so many that I can't recall exactly which they were, though the dobin-mushi (fish soup in a kettle) stood out as entirely authentic and delicious and the crab and other sushi dishes were uniformly excellent. The black cod was every bit as good as Nobu and twice the size and the beef was succulent melting perfection. The most important ingredient - the rice and tofu were impeccable, causing us to recall similar great meals taken in Kyoto and Hong Kong. Importantly too, we were able to chose a good dry sake from the short list that was exactly what we wanted and wasn't impossibly priced. An unexpectedly fine experience; and not at all expensive for this quality at £280 for five.
Japanese cuisine is naturally rich in vitamin D and the menu features ingredients like mackerel, harameki mushrooms and ikura roe. The set menu starts with a zesty 'Sunshine' cocktail made using Apollo 11, elderflower and grapefruit, then there's a starter, main and dessert with a choice of three for each.

Overall, the set menu was delicious and nutritious – two words I don’t often use together. What particularly stood out to me was I wasn’t left with that uncomfortable over-stuffed feeling I often have after a three-course meal. Instead, I felt satisfied and energised. I liked the design of the venue and the service was very good.
Of worthy mention is this special maki roll Special Maki I've never seen anything like it… nor do I have any idea how he made it..
As many an unfortunate entrepreneur will tell you, large bags of money are no guarantee of success in London’s vast and fast paced restaurant scene. Indeed, even the most experienced and renowned operators have suffered embarrassing failures at the hands
Sushi sushi sushi! I have never had a better sushi in London (and trust me I eat tons of it).
Aqua Kyoto is the place to go for a special occasion, it is expensive but it's definitely worth it.
We started with some cocktails, I had a Mojito and my Girlfriend had a strawberry margarita (the costed 15 quids each but they were properly prepared).
Then we had the chef's selected sushi (they actually prepare it in front of you in the open kitchen) but we were still hungry so We ordered a wagyu beef gyoza and it was awesome (tender beef accompanied by onion miso and mushrooms) and
salmon & avocado harumaki (see picture).
Finally the delicious food is coupled with the amazing roof terrace overlooking Regent Steet.
Not to be confused with the restaurant on high in The Shard, Aqua Kyoto is a luxe cocktail bar and Japanese restaurant a stone's throw away from Carnaby Street. Across the street from Five Guys, and tucked behind two pillars, you'd be forgiven for passing by this slick operation without ever knowing it's there.
We were here to kill time before seeing Cats (more on that this week!) so whisked out of the rain, up in the elevator and into the moodily lit bar for an aperitif. A decadent hive of activity, the smartly attired bar staff busily whip up their concoctions, serving some in china cats and buddhas and others in heavy cut glass tumblers.
S was hankering for rum so chose a cocktail that had a decidedly seafaring name (absent from the online menu) that, when tasted, conjured up tastes of the Caribbean with the a fruity, tropical base that had just enough citrus to keep it from being sickly sweet. I reversed roles and went for the rye sazerac that was smokey without being too dry, and rubbed with citrus as a finishing touch.
Good drinks, good atmosphere but definitely a place for pay day. Best bit? Go in the summer and make the most of their lovely rooftop garden and perhaps indulge in a spot at the sushi bar for that extra bit of decadence.
If you are looking for a restaurant/bar with a good ambience this would be the place. I went here with friends for a pre drink and the place was very upscale and full with professionals (30s?). Even though the drinks we picked were ok, I will go back again due to their vibe and the strategic location in Soho.
Tried the green tea soba noodles with the vegetable tempura and they were absolutely delicious. Been her a lot of times and prefer the outside terrace in the evening for drinks . Lovely ambience and very humble staff!
Great place to come back to - this was my second time here and I was thrilled that it matched my first experience. Had the beef Bento box and it was so filling and yummy. Love you Aqua!
My parents and I dined here and were rather impressed. The food was great with an interesting variety on the menu. My particular favourite was, the Seabass with Crab Ravioli. It was cooked to perfection and was well done! The staff was attentive and were not rushing around. The ambience was soothing as well. I plan on taking my partner there next week!
If you are looking for a perfect dining experience and want to make a memorable one for your family then this is the place. The service is really good and you will appreciate the variety that they offer. The drinks range from cocktails to Japanese beer and you will appreciate very bit of what you order. The food lived up to my expectation and towards the need I couldn't help feeling why did I not visit this place before.
This place has EVERYTHING you can ask for for a pleasurable meal. To begin with, the staff is welcoming, attentive and amicable. They make sure you are always well served. The atmosphere is enticing, they have beautiful terrace! Coming to food, quality and quantity, sushi was flawless. One of the top notch places! Dp visit!
We happened to visit this place a couple of weeks ago and had quite an amazing dining experience. The place is very well decorated and has a vibrant environment. It is located on the 5th floor and also has a nice bar which serves pretty amazing cocktails.
This place also has a big terrace, which is an amazing place to sit and chill with friends if the weather is nice. The staff is quite friendly as well and the place gives an amazing view of London. I would love to visit this place again and would recommend all of friends to visit it as well.
Try the set meal with three courses and a cocktail - you will not be disappointed. There is something for everyone - meat and veggie lovers alike and the combination of the food and the views is quite heady. Definitely coming back!
The service at the restaurant is so pathetic that you do not feel agitated but feel pity for the amazing chef that works at the restaurant. the food is exceptionally good. The portion sizes are reasonable. The food is a great deal for money had the staff with its poor service not hamper it. They are ignorant at best.
We went for their Champagne brunch on weekend and that turned out to be a great value for money. Although, the menu did not offer an extensive selection of dishes to chose from but whatever we ordered was simply delectable. They were pretty generous in serving champagne at a very good speed.
I am one of the most frequently visiting customer to the restaurant and I mostly get all my colleagues and friends here, whenever I get a chance of doing so. It is one the few restaurants that offer a rooftop seating without a membership scheme. The view from the rooftop is amazing and seems like your on a holiday as the noise from the traffic downstairs is barely audible.
The bar at this place is nice, but not as good as others in the neighborhood, and the cocktails are about average. The fact that there is a dress code for this place gives it a nice classy impression. The food here is exquisite, though a little expensive.
The number of rooftop restaurants in the city is abysmally low, and this place is definitely worth visiting. I generally come here to have a few drinks and relax. This place is always busy, and it is open till very early in the morning, so that is saying a lot about their notoriety. My most preferred cocktails are the appletinis. The outdoor bars are great in the warmer days.
Not particularly out of the box, the menu here is kind of diverse and so is the gentry you will find here. I have met people from all walks of life. From painters to party girls, they all come here.
The food and drinks are average but the service provided is really accommodating and cordial.
There is something about the essence of this place (may be the people) which keeps pulling me back!
If you can shell out money and you happen to be a sushi lover then this is the place for you. The food served is freshly prepared and delicious. Excellent value for money. The decor is pretty exquisite and happens to be one the most fine dine-ins in London. The crowd is a mixture and you can easily blend in. Food is served in a very elegant environment. Definitely a place to check out. Recommended.
If you want to have the time of your life then you have to visit Aqua Kyoto. One thing you will definitely love about this place definitely has to be the personality of the whole space. It gives you altogether a different feel. The ambiance is amazing and the environment is cheerful. If you happen to be a desserts lover then this place a variety of unique desserts in store for you. The food is delicious and the preparation is amazing. A little expensive but worth every single penny you shell out. I am definitely recommending sushi and chocolate based desserts. They would satisfy your taste buds for sure. Recommended strongly.
This place serves the most awesome Japanese cuisine ever.I have been here more than once , in fact three times to be precise and i have got to say i am as pleased with the service as earlier and am more than eager to drop in again. My recommendation includes chicken thigh skewer and king crab tempura. Can not get better than this.
I came here on a very last minute decision. And I enjoyed myself thoroughly. The crispy tofu was delicious as was everything else I ordered. The service was exceptionally good. The staff was so attentive and helpful. The ambiance really added to the whole experience. It was glamorous yet very sub-dude.
I am very impressed by this restaurant. The food is great, the serve is unmatched for. I had spilled my drink and the staff replaced it immediately without any delay. The bar is also nice. The drinks are well prepared. the portions are both generous and the food is reasonably priced.
The place is very charming and enticing. A lift leads you to sixteenth floor where you enter this luxurious looking place with red curtains giving it a very attractive feel. The place has a circular bar and limited number of bar stools and comfortable seats. Its is a relaxing place, fills up quickly!
We had some lovely food here, especially the datterini tomato salad, it was so flavourful and yummy, an absolute delight. The flowers were a little bitter though. The salad was difficult to eat with chopsticks but we managed, and it was totally worth it.
Dined here with 3 friends on a Saturday evening after booking a Bookatable 'Star Deal' - 3 courses with champagne cocktail for £29.
We arrived early to have some pre-dinner cocktails and sat on the terrace outside to soak up the relaxed vibe.
After cocktails, we sat down for dinner and were welcomed with our champagne cocktail (part of our star deal).
With 3 options for a starter, I elected for the miso sea trout with kombu crust and nukazuke vegtables. This was a very fresh starter and the texture of the kombu crust on the trout was a delight too go along with the lovely flavour of the fish.
Moving on to my main course (again with 3 options on the star deal), I chose the beef chilli nikujaga with sea beans and ginkgo nuts. Firstly, I would have liked some more beef in this dish. However, the beef was very flavoursome and the sea beans and nuts complimented the meat very well. The rice was in a separate bowl and was quite sticky, which I really like and this was great to mix with with veg and beef.
Finally, we only had one choice of dessert on this deal. The white chocolate parfait. The presentation was impeccable, however I was not bowled over with the flavour of the dessert. The pieces of fruit definitely helped with the flavour but I was not left amazed overall.
I would sum up my whole experience at Aqua Kyoto to be positive but with room for improvement, especially with dessert.
The service was very good, only a slightly long wait for extra cocktails, but at this point the bar was quite busy.
Would recommend for small groups, date nights and even a first date. Great that have a lovely terrace with heaters for pre/post dinner.
What an amazing restaurant! The ambiance is really great, with beautiful decoration details. It all feels very grand and special as you walk in. The service was good, this place does get busy though, but considering the amount of dishes we ordered, everything came on time and they were very helpful with suggesting dishes. The food is amazing, really amazing. Everything is presented so beautifully, with really great attention to detail, takes it from food to art. And everything was so tasty, highly recommend the Chiliean Sea Bass Set and the Deluxe Sushi Set. The value however is very high, it is definitely a pricey restaurant, but that usually comes with the territory of Japanese food in London.
Overall, definitely a place I will return to for special occasions, was really impressed with the quality of the food.
I dined at Kyoto last week with some friends. We have never been before but had heard about the venue. We couldn't go to the terrace as it was raining so we started with cocktails in the indoor bar, all so delicious!
I had one with gin and elderflower with sage which was recommended by the bartender. By the time we moved to the main dining area it was almost full, very nice atmosphere for a Tuesday.
We let our waitress to decide from the menu, she really did a great selection for us and explained the dishes. The black cod and the grilled courgettes were my absolute favourites and the desserts wow, especially the sake creme brulee.
My friends from NY were very impressed with the service and the experience, so it was a very successful evening. I will definitely be visiting again soon.
There is only one word to describe this place is wonderful, if you are looking for a place to treat yourself for an evening and eat one of the most good sushi made at the time in the city then it is the right place.
The view on Regent Street is stunning, the cocktails though a bit expensive (15 pounds) are really good and spirits.
love it
Unlimited Veuve Clicquot and sushi, you say?!
We heard about this Infinity Brunch through word of mouth, and on a rainy Sunday with American visitors in town we decided to give it a go. At £55 a head it isn't a cheap brunch, but we absolutely got our money's worth.
Our group of 9 were seated in a great glass side room, where we were safe to get louder with every glass of bubbly without disturbing other diners. And they were more-than generous with the top ups. No sooner would you be down to the last third of your flute than a server would appear with a fresh bottle to top it up.
The sushi, yakitori, and noodles were all fantastic. I'd read mixed reviews about the food quality and was concerned, but as regular sushi goers our only complaint was that there was far too much food and they wouldn't let us take the leftovers away. What a waste. Go hungry. Really, really hungry. And eat slowly, because the food just keeps coming. But drink as fast as you like, you have 2 hours to drink all you like.
Upscale and great value in an elegant and easy to reach locale, the Infinity Brunch at swish Soho eatery, Aqua Kyoto, would be a wise addition to your bucket list of must-do London brunches.
Available every Sunday from noon to 4pm and priced at £55 per person, Aqua Kyoto’s Infinity Brunch includes the following per guest:
a sushi platter of five sushi rolls and four pieces of nigiri sushi;
unlimited yakitori – grilled marinated skewers – from the sumibi-yaki grill;
green tea and mixed mushroom noodles;
Datterini tomato, edamame and seaweed salad;
a selection of homemade ice creams and mochi; and
unlimited Veuve Clicquot Brut NV Champagne, house wine or beer (for up to two hours).
Boom! Infinity. If you really like to drink bubbly that’s a right bargain (and if you really don’t, you can get the same menu sans booze for £35).
I was there last Sunday. Yeah, Easter. And yes it was pissing rain during my dine. So, I didn’t get to enjoy the views from Aqua’s excellent terrace over Regent Street. I’d been before and can vouch that if there weather’s nice Aqua’s outdoor space is as fine a place to be as any so close to Oxford Circus. Anyway, if there was going to be rain on my Easter parade, the Kyoto dining room was a lovely and comfortable spot to have a gorgeous brunch.
For me, the highlight of the meal was the sushi. I especially loved the spicy tuna and the soft shell crab rolls. But it was all good, as was everything else had from the menu. Unlimited yakitori was a dream. The chicken skewers in particular were irresistibly juicy and tender (and veggie options not listed on the menu were available when requested).
Service was polite, efficient and (like the view) a lot better than you might expect from most restaurants nearby.
The setting for Aqua Kyoto is cool. There is a bar/lounge in front and this and a different Spanish restaurant behind the bar. The place is well done and has a very modern feel to it. The kitchen itself is an island in the middle of the restaurant floor with a grill right there on the side as well. And the open kitchen makes the place feel even cooler.
The food that comes out of the open kitchen doesn't disappoint either. Amongst other things we tried the signature black cod in miso sauce and the wagyu beef grill - both of them were exquisite. The big problem though is that the portions are tiny especially once you consider the prices - each of the "big" plates are £25-£30 upwards. So a good meal although tasty would easily set you back £50 a person without drinks. And that's where I am unconvinced whether it's really worth the cost of going back to this place.
Incredible Atmosphere, good cocktails and good sushi.
The staffs are very welcoming, friendly and taking care of customers so well.
I had wonderful dinner and drinks with a breathtaking view at this trendy restaurant!Thank you for the great experience.
There are very few places in London which are upscale but still comfortable enough to feel like home. Perfect for a Friday night and to start off the weekend, Aqua Kyoto had an exciting atmosphere, great music, absolutely delicious food and impeccable service. The staff were very professional and yet friendly. Absolutely no complaints. Would recommend more tempered chocolate in the “forest floor” dessert to really get that crackling twigs experience-otherwise, it was scrumptious without being too heavy on the stomach, with a great balance of flavours. The spinach and sesame salad with goma dressing, prepared at the table- was divine. We were running slightly late, around 8-10 minutes after the booking time, but they were not problematic about holding on to the table, even when clearly very busy, which was appreciated, thank you.

Let's talk food.
I decided to go for the calamari as a starter with one portion of the wagyu beef sushi. The calamari is really tasty, especially with the dip. The wagyu beef sushi duo were the highlight of the evening. Pricey but worth it. The different flavours bundled into a small piece of sushi with the ginger kick at the end. Amazing.......
For main, we have a grilled fillet of black cod with Kamameshi rice. Loved the crunchy ends of the black cod. The rice was top nutch. I'm definitely ordering this again when i return. Decor is very appealing. Dim lighting to set the mood for those dinner dates. Service was very good as well.
An amazing but pricey time was had at this restaurant. Go in a group!!!!
A wonderful restaurant with great food but lacks the service to match the quality. Our waiter, Saurav, was so friendly and lovely but the rest of the staff serving us made lots of small errors throughout our tasting menu experience. From bringing dishes in the wrong order to accidentally dropping a scallop on me and then not realising and leaving the plate on our table with one portion missing. The service could use some work but the general vibe and the food was of a high quality.

If I could give this more stars, I would!!!!!! First class service, matched with top level food. The waiters were able to explain everything on the menu to us including the specials. They were also able to advise us on suitable wine pairings.
The atmosphere is amazing. Interior design is incredible. They also have two roof top terraces for those lovely Sumners days and evenings.
I'm actually looking to head back there next month. Sooooo good!!!!
Fantastic meal, visually stunning, subtle light flavours and light. Love the dark black interior and clean lines and low level lighting in red. Balcony is breathtaking with views of the Apple store.
Fantastic, high quality food with lots of flavours to experience. The black miso cod in particular was super tender, flaky and slightly sweet - probably the best fish I've ever eaten! A great choice for couples looking for a romantic atmosphere, as it is dimly lit but with enough lighting to see each other. You also get to see chefs cooking nearby, and the servers were attentive and patient. Would recommend 😄
We’re in London for over a week, visiting our daughter and her boyfriend, and having meals out, ranging from ordinary to exceptional. On Saturday evening they took us to Aqua Kyoto for dinner. I can say that this place was Extraordinary and beautiful. Probably the best meal we had in London to date. The food, the presentation, service and setting was wonderful. It was raining on the night we went there, so we did not get to enjoy the deck, but otherwise a solid 5-star place. The only reason I gave 4 stars for the atmosphere is because on the night we were there, a dj was pumping out the rhythms pretty loudly on the bar side and was a slight distraction from enjoying the experience of edible art.
The location is beautiful aswell the interior.
We have been perfectly serviced by Yussef. And the food was amazing!
Lovely bar with a dj, which was not too loud in the restaurant, so you still could have nice conversation with your company.
Amazing Japanese Food and place to be when you are in London. Aqua Kyoto is located in One of the best location in Regent street with rooftop terrace. Food is Simply outstanding with decent options for vegetarian as well their Cocktails are amazing with great atmosphere and vibes. Dessert too they had lots of options out of which we choose 2 of the all time favorite. Service is top notch which sums up overall 5 star experience at Aqua Kyoto. Thanks to the entire Team of Aqua Kyoto for amazing evening. Will be back soon.
A stunning dining experience on a beautiful terrace! Aqua Kyoto is an amazing spot to enjoy Japanese dishes and delicious cocktails as the flavour for everything is spot on! 👌🏼 Couldn’t fault any of the dishes so anything you order would probably be great but do make sure you try the Rock Shrimp Tempura 😍 Very polite service by attentive staff. The terrace is gorgeous and very pleasant on a sunny day- great vibes!
The food mostly were delicious, while the sashimi were yummy, the shrimp tempura and the Wagyu beef were great. However, the scallops were a bit salty and the gyoza taste a bit funny only.
10/10
Amazing dinner service in a spectacular venue. While pricey, it’s worth it for special occasions.
Service was impeccable.
Food was beautiful.
Huge range of cocktails from the bar and they tasted great.
Would highly recommend as a dining experience. Hope to return soon.
Thank you 🙏
Last week, I embarked on an epic culinary journey to the Land of the Rising Sun! The dinner was so incredible that it felt like a samurai slicing through my taste buds with flavors that left me speechless! 🍣🍱 The ambiance was like a tranquil Zen garden, where every moment was an escape to gastronomic bliss.
But let me tell you, the service was next level ninja like! 🥋 When my wine arrived at a temperature that made me question if it had taken a dip in Mount Fuji, I mustered my courage and voiced my concern to the attentive waiter. To my surprise, he gracefully acknowledged the mistake and offered me multiple glasses of wine on the house! 🍷🎉 It was like a momentary hiccup in the harmony of the universe, and the waiter, with his act of kindness, realigned the cosmic balance.
In that surreal instant, I couldn't help but ponder the Tao of customer service. Life's journey is filled with unexpected turns, and sometimes we encounter minor hiccups along the way. But it's the response to these hiccups that defines the experience. The waiter's gesture of kindness not only rectified the momentary discomfort but elevated the dining experience to a level of unparalleled delight!
So, as I savored every bite of the exquisite Japanese cuisine, I couldn't help but marvel at the yin and yang of life the sweet and sour, the highs and lows, and how one simple act of generosity can turn a less-than-ideal moment into a memory I'll cherish forever.
In the end, I left the restaurant with a full belly, a joyful heart, and a newfound appreciation for the magic that unfolds when great food, exceptional service, and a pinch of humor come together. It was a culinary adventure that transcended the plate, reminding me that life's delights often hide in the most unexpected corners of our journey!" 🌟🍱🎭
The waiter was really annoying and kept mentioning a tip and pushing it indirectly. Amazing food great quantities for the set menu..
Food was great - service fantastic!
The only thing that needs to be prepared is the acoustics. The restaurant was fully booked and we could hardly talk at the table.
We had to speak very loudly to have a conversation.
It ruined part of the evening. The food is such a great experience that every bite is a pleasure, so the acoustics should be improved.
Nice Japanese fusion food in a well designed room, with a rooftop bar. Directly opposite the London Palladium so perfect for a pre theatre meal.
We booked this restaurant for our 5th wedding anniversary, the reason for 4 stars is because I wanted a nice view, which I didn't get. However the staff were very accommodating as we had a little trouble getting to the restaurant. We shared the food and it was delicious, some of the food we tried that stood out was the chicken gyoza, tuna maki and the matcha green tea soba noodles, the only dish we didn't like that tasted funky was the chicken yakitori.
We did have dessert....the black sesame fondant was so good, I would definitely recommend it.
Also 5 out of 5 stars for the staff, all of them made our evening enjoyable.
