I've been here for breakfast lots of times and the service is quick and polite. A big menu. The prices are also fab for London. I would go for lunch as the Greek salad looks amazing but the place is always jam packed which speaks for itself.
First visit and won't be the last! Great home made steak pie! Authentic workers cafe which reflects in the reasonable prices. Great varied menu!
Visited yesterday prior to a day out. Breakfast arrived quickly, was served piping hot and, more importantly, remained hot to the last mouthful. Not our first visit and certainly will not be the last. Thoroughly recommend but be aware that it gets very busy.
I had a builders breakfast . And to say I was struggling to eat even half of it is an understatement. They server a lot.! Very happy would visit again. Staff friendly. Love,love,love. Recommend to everyone

This cafe is amazing. Great service, great food, very friendly and you not find a better cup or tea in London. What I imagine a typical, friendly East End cafe to be. Will definitely visit next time I am in London.

When you're looking for tasty food as well as value for money, in my opinion, Shepherdess Cafe is one of the best you can find! The burgers are mind blowing and for me, a full veggie burger with cheese & onions is sufficient for two full meals! The breakfast options, the cream & cheese bagel, the ciabattas & even the desserts here are awesome! And so is the staff! Three cheers to the awesome team for amazing food!!!

This place was so close to being 5 stars for me, good prices, big portions, the mixed veg omelette and fries was really delicious, the beef and onion pie was so so. Mocha was big and delicious too. A really nice casual old fashioned diner at a street junction. Took one star off because the waitress somehow couldn't really understand us, and also couldn't understand the kitchen because she told us they ran out of pie and then we cancelled it, but then they just serve it to us even though we already decided not to have it. One of the item we ordered never arrived too.
Utterly fabulous breakfast and cups of tea and coffee, very reasonable prices and lovely staff, helpful and cheerful, highly recommended, a must if you’re in the area

A nice local cafe kinda vibe. Attentive, friendly staff, quick service and a relaxed atmosphere. Decent food, nothing fancy but always busy (which is a recommendation in itself).

I had a bit of time to kill prior to a meeting, so I decided to go for breakfast as I'd been up early and not eaten, and my tummy was rumbling quite loudly in protest.
Most of the food places weren't open yet as I wandered along the City Road (as it was about 0930), so was pleasantly surprised to spot this cafe was open.
Staff greeted me immediately as I walked in the door.
Piggy little me went all in for a Cop The Lot (which I most certainly did with two eggs, two bacon slices, a sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans & black pudding - yum!), all washed down with a lovely mug of strong tea.
Food was fresh out (as in not left sitting under heat lamps) , and the presentation was immaculate (Google doesn't want to let me add my pic though).
I did especially like the sausage (no Richmonds here).
The customer service was excellent and rapid with attentive staff, and tables were quickly bussed after customers exited, and left immaculately clean.
It's not the cheapest cafe around (and it kind of does it a disservice to describe it as a 'greasy spoon' as well), but it's worth a punt if you're in the mood for a hearty full English breakfast if you're ever near Old Street.
Nice. Not too busy. Shrimp was a little under done in the scampi, but the breakfasts were very good. Prices are reasonable.
This is exactly the kind of cafe that I envision for nice weekend breakfasts. It’s absolutely perfect. The staff is so warm and friendly! The atmosphere is very homey. I don’t understand how the prices are more than fair. Surprisingly so even given that the food was so good. We ordered an omelette and the vegetarian breakfast and both were large portions, too. Even the coffee is on point. I have found my new favourite breakfast place.
This is one of the best cafes I have ever been to. I really recommend coming and make sure to try the Chocolate Milkshake it is delicious!!

You can have an authentic English breakfast at this place for a very good price! The real proteinic meal for the English builder and worker 💪🏻. I ordered the Builders breakfast 🍳 which was very good. When we went to the place there were mainly workers eating there, it was cool. I totally recommend!
Exceptionnaly drinks took long to be served but you are vers welcome by à super and generous team !
