I found this restaurant in heart of Covent Garden with few of my friends from outside the place look ok nothing drastically beautifully decorated however when we went inside we straightway overwhelming welcome by one of the staff and with short period of time they took order and food arrived in very quick time. The dishes very well decorated and tasted unbelievable fresh and with lots of flavours that busted in your mouth. I would recommend highly this place and especially those who are near this area. Go for it I promise u will not retreat
Found this restaurant while walking from Trafalgar Square to Covent Garden in the evening. Was delighted to see that Indian cuisine was being served there.
We quickly ordered a Chana Masala and Naan breads to accompany it. The taste was heavenly and suited our taste pallet.
The quantity was a little less as per the cost, but the service and taste made up for that.
Hospitality was good as well. Worth a try for sure.
Having been here at least 3 times before my husband and I were familiar with the food which has always been tasty .we Popped in on the off chance with two others late yesterday; it was after 10pm and the downstairs was full so we were advised to go upstairs. the room had a large Christmas Party of over 10 and 3 other tables one of which was already accompanied with a twosome. As there was no room downstairs when we arrived they had obviously had a very busy evening. They could not be more welcoming as we were the first customers of the night. The food was delicious (it always tastes so fresh) I had the Chicken Dopiaza the others had Chicken Tikka Masala this time and the high standard we have always experienced was delivered the bread was Scrumptious as always too, , Service was quick and efficient Perfect for some impromptu spice or planned curry evening. Just off of the Strand around the corner from the Theatres on the Strand so a great location. Will be going in again when we are hungry in Covent Garden ! Mr Miah was very nice to us and mentioned reviewing so it is my pleasure
Me and 3 of my friend went to Strand Tandoori. Everyone really enjoyed the meal and we will definitely go back to the restaurant.
Found this place years ago and now any trip to London with wife requires a stop here. Found the food to be good every time we eat here.
the food was absolutely delicious! From the bread to the chefs recommendation of chicken masala to the dips and the samosas, everything was divine and I fully recommend a chat with the welcoming and friendly servers! Come here and enjoy a delicious Indian dinner you won’t forget
The food is absolutely delicious. The Manager and his staff are warmly welcome every guest and makes you feeling home. We are visiting this place for around 30 years now and I just can say“it is like coming home“
Visiting London? Try this place!
I don’t understand the negative reviews! This is possibly the best curry I’ve ever had!! The menu is extensive and it’s hard to know what to choose ! On this occasion I had the lamb Biryani which is so delicious! I asked for it without coriander and this was no problem for them! Most Indian restaurants have pre made sauces they use which contain coriander- the curries here are made freshly and it shows! Served with a delicious vegetable curry it’s my go to dish! My friend tried the tikka duck biryani which looked equally delicious! Very generous portions with absolutely loads of tender meat - delicious!!
We ordered an additional portion of chicken korma and a vegetable Nan - we were absolutely stuffed but ate it all!! I’m sure anything on the menu would be as delicious. Very friendly service from the Boss! The only negative that could be improved upon is the tables are very tightly packed in ! This is of course a testament to their popularity but the dining experience could be better with a little more space! That said I’m already looking forward to coming again! I live in Southampton but this is my go to place when I want a curry in London! Excellent for pre theatre though they don’t open in the day so no good for pre matinee but do try for afterwards! You won’t regret it! Yum 🤤
Really good butter chicken here, highly recommend! Staff is also silly and very nice. Kind of Reasonably priced for the location, Would definitely come here again!
Wonderful food, good service, very nice owner!
Next time I am in London, I will definitely go there again.
While it’s not fancy, it’s amazing. My wife & I used to come here back in the 90’s because it was the best Indian cuisine we’ve had outside of India & it still is. It’s unpretentious but amazing in quality. If you’re a fan of Indian cuisine don’t miss this place.
Always super friendly and make the effort to cater for my dietary requirements. Food is tasty. Nothing fancy, but good food and great location
A really good meal. Flavours were very well balanced and one of the few UK Indian restaurants I've been at where the nan was how it should be. A little out of the way but at 10 min walk from Leicester Square, worth it.
Wonderful service and food! As a group of 10, were well looked after by Mr Miha and the food was brilliant- an excellent London curry house.
Food was delicious. service was great. would 100% go back.
If your expecting a large room to dine then you will be disappointed... this restaurant is small but so lovely... there isn't loads of space but it's perfect for couples and small groups. don't let that turn you off as their food really is amazing.
Food was delicious and quick.
There were 4 of us dining.
Enjoyed our experience.
Having had many Indian foods from many places around my area in the US, I had heard London had some good Indian food and this is one of the places! Compared to home this was hands down the best we ever had. It's a nondescript hole-in-the-wall joint, but don't let it deter you. We had lamb Tikka and butter chicken with basmati rice and the flavors were unlike any we've experienced before. Mr. Miah recommended eggplant vegetables to share. I don't like eggplant and I loved this side dish! Also ordered the Peshwari Naan which was great as well. For Americans just letting you know that you do not get complementary Naan and rice does not come with dinner as most Indian places in the US offer. It is À la carte here so be prepared to spend a little more. Also the chutney are not the same as in America. We didn't much enjoy the chutney provided here, but that was fine as the food didn't require any chutney. Aside from the last couple points we will definitely be back when we return to London in the future!
