If you're in London and you like Belgian beer and want a taste of Belgium there's nowhere else you should go, it's a superb place. Awesome choice and wouldn't be out of place anywhere in Belgium. Very friendly staff and myths wagyu burger is a treat.
Great place, awesome staff!
Amazing food!
Loved having a vegetarian option for fish and chips! Thanks so much!
I love this place. Nice good, lovely staff and great beer. I’ll be back soon
Glorious food (mussels, croquettes and burgers) interesting beers in all tastes and colours and amazing staff who weren’t afraid to interact with their customers! I’ll be coming back and bringing the wife to sample the awesomeness!
Lovely little pub .and the staff very friendly.went there for the beigum beers .cant wait to go back .also food was amazing
we had a great night, food and selection of beer was as ever fantastic. a lot better since the grumpy manager who wouldn't let us taste our homebrews against the real thing has gone.
we were served by really friendly young women called Mia who is really passionate about the beers and couldn't have been more friendly or helpful, we will be going more often again.
The chickpea/sweet potato burger was to die for! So many meatless options, I'll be back to try them all!
Very nice cosy pub! Loved the drink, nice staff, cosy atmosphere
Simply my favourite place for a tipple.
Enthusiastic staff, excellent service and wonderful range of beers.
A pub that has more drinks on the menu than food is a winner!
Super food delicious service
Thank you for a lovely lunch
Great selection of beers Luc you been at home
One of the best pubs in London! Great food and a huge choice of Belgian beers. Great place to spend an evening!
We go to Bruges quite often and love the various Belgian beers and was looking for something in the UK offering these. Found details of The Dovetail via the internet... we ventured from Rochester Kent on Saturday to sample their delights... we was not disappointed and had some lovely beer and some tasty food. We will be back... Many thanks.
Great selection of Belgian beers, delirium, zot on draught and plenty of other craft beers to chose from, good food, especially Flemish stew.Booking advisable if eating.looking forward to my next visit.
The exclusive selection of Belgian beer are the must try as house specialities. can taste all in one visit, need a couple of them to follow. Amazingly tasting Belgian beer and with considerable Achl percentage. The food is a highlight equally to the beers. healthy choices are available. seating options for both indoor and outdoor available. Chimay is house speciality.
Popped into this cosy little Belgian restaurant for a work lunch. The food is hearty with a varied menu of meat, fish, burgers and vegetarian/vegan options and an extensive selection of Belgian beers. On popular recommendation, I went for the mussels with a white wine sauce served with chunky fries. Delicious! My friend had the confit duck leg which was beautifully cooked, served with mash and Savoy cabbage. Service was quick and the atmosphere was warm. Will definitely go back!

Great place for a dinner or to have a beer talk! There's a big offer on pints and beers as weel as a delicious menu to taste .
notes .
go for the mussels, you won't regret it !!
the fondue and burguers looked delicious too
Went here for dinner and definitely coming back. The food is really good, croquetes and mussels with bread and chips. We had the merlot wine but the beer list is enormous. Very good and not at all expensive.
Didn't realise this was connected to The Dove! Have just read so in reviews below - this makes a lot of sense. Anyway, this place is great fun. Quirky seating and decor representing the Belgian flair of the place, and obviously, an extensive and fun menu of beers. I had strawberry beer and it was very tasty. For dinner, I ordered the Dovetail "Buddha Bowl" which was okay - a bit too sweet for my taste with the maple & tahini dressing but I do tend to repeat my own mistakes with ordering dressings of this sort. I'd come back a second time, be a bit more astute about food - or forego food altogether and make a lovely 3+ drinks night of it (as recommended by the review below).
I've been here a few times. It's nice. But there's something a bit dirty-feeling about it. Like it's missing a crucial element of the decor. (Maybe it's the candles...with all the kiddies about, there were wisely no candles melting into Duval bottles.) Bu
Over 100 Belgium beers, I mean what more could you want in a place that is in the business of selling beer. These beers are seriously tasty! Not to mention the serious glass that it comes with it. Although accompanied by a hefty price tag (around £5 for a bottle) don't let it fool you as some of these beers can be as high as 11% vol. Great place if you value quality over quantity. Also the location is in a small cobbled street tucked out of the way giving it a more relaxed atmosphere.
The Dovetail is a spin-off of the larger "Dove" pub located on Broadway market. This little bar situated on Jerusalem passage in Clerckenwell is truly a fantastic option when it comes to drinking beer. Indeed, serving beers from Belgium, it clearly is selling the best stuff around (I am not Belge at all by the way, one must recognise the superiority of Belgium as a beer brewer). I strongly recommend the Duval beer which is my personal favourite. Do note its tenure in alcohol is close to 9% meaning I wouldn't go beyond the three. Also, beware that if ever you do get to the three beers, you will probably have already spent close to £15. This is the main downside to the Dovetail: price tags. Unfortunately, high prices must be paid for premium imported Belgium beer. The outside of the Dovetail is also not the best. Seating options are restricted in number and the place does get filled up very quickly.
My advice: Great place for TRUE beer amateurs. However, I do not recommend for large parties.
Enjoy!
Jerusalem Passage is hiding a little gem. The Dove Bar is the little sister of the Dovetail located on Broadway Market. The great variety of drinks at the bar as well as the high quality food makes this restaurant a serious contender if you want to enjoy a good evening with friends. Be tempted by their Belgian beers, they are good!
Been meaning to come to this place for a while and ended up stumbling across it accidentally on a walk. What a joyous find! Excellent, but excellent beer selection including many options on tap, great vibe, friendly varied crowd and the location is a winner too. Have been back since and confirmed it was not a one off and we'll be back lots more from now on. Recommended
This place is on our list of "musts" whenever we're in London. Great beer, of course (it's Belgian, after all) and excellent food. Great, friendly service (especially considering how busy this place usually is). And when you pay up your receipt says "thank you very much" in Welsh! (There's a story behind that but I won't spoil it here. Ask the owner!)
Must-visit if you are a Belgian beer lover. Quaffing my Chouffe I felt like I was in Bruges. Incredibly friendly staff who are keen to help you explore some marvellous Belgian ales.
Great selection of Belgian beers at very sensible prices (especially considering London) and generally served in the correct glasses - if that's your thing!
Small but excellent selection of food, everything I've had had been both very tasty and sensibly priced. I've been early evening midweek on a couple of occasions and there's been no need to book a table, but you can reserve tables in advance if you want to.
Very friendly and helpful staff too. This is how independent places should be 😀
Decent mussels and fries here. A very large Belgian beer menu is available. Not so good for soft drinks.
The atmosphere pervading this exquisite pearl of a venue is lustrous and tangible.
The indomitably idiosyncratic management jells perfectly with the unlikelihood of finding a firmly established faux-Belgian venue in an underlit passageway named after Jerusalem, deep in the increasingly pulsating heart of historic Clerkenwell.
The beers are curated and nurtured and peddled with considerable knowledge and care and can compliment the cuisine exquisitely. Just ask and you'll be placed on track whether scissoring your way through Shetland mussels or chowing down on a Flemish Carbonade.
Totally worth the wait and the trip out to sample probably the largest collection of Belgian beers in London? Thank you Paul for the lesson on Belgian beers and the hospitality!
Last pub I visited during my visit to London. And Wow! What a wonderful selection of Belgian beers! The food was wonderful and the owner Paul has real passion for beer! Can't wait to go back!
Awesome selection of well curated Belgian beers. Really nice, relaxed venue with warm, friendly service. Can get busy and is small but a real gem tucked away on a side street. This is a great neighbourhood - though very quiet on the weekends - and this pub does it proud.
A classic Belgian style beer bar located in the idyllic surroundings of clerkenwell. Down a alleyway off the square you'll find this gem of a bar. If Belgian beer is your thing you'll immediately be enamoured by the selection on offer. From classic Belgian strong ales right though to lambic they have all the bases covered . Take your time to explore the wonderful flavours . I highly recommend that you try at least one Trappist beer, so rich in flavour and body. Yum it's making me want one right now.
