Nice and cozy place. I wasn’t amazed by the Full English Breakfast but the Mac and Cheese were really good. I have to add the Toffee Pudding was superb.
Our waiter was really helpful, joyful and polite.

It's been a long time since I've visited this particular restaurant and I'm pleased to say that nothing's changed. You still receive a warm welcome and a great choice of well cooked British favourites. Always check out the daily specials as more often than not there's something memorable to be found.

We spent a lovely afternoon two days ago with our friends celebrating our 25 th wedding anniversary. The food was delicious, service very slick and the private room upstairs charming.

Excellent place.. Our bartender Jordan was absolutely awesome.. Great friendly guy that made the best drinks I ever had... Long hot summer is a must try drink that you'll absolutely love..

The breakfast is delicious (always a fan of Eggs Royale!), the staff is helpful and the decor is cosy, it could do with some TLC around the nooks and crannies.

Very good gastropub. Food is excellent.

Popped in to Bumpkin after a disappointing visit in another restaurant in Kensington. Such a lovely place! It has a strong pub-like vibe but with full service and much cleaner tables. I had great fish and chips, really one of the best I've ever tried. Mussels with cider were also very good. Service was upstanding, waitress was checking in with us was fairly quick with our orders given the never of people dining. They have modest selection of wines and some non alcoholic drinks which is always a plus.i will be back for sure.

We wanted to have Sunday roast and Bumpkin was close to where we were. It turned out to be a fantastic meal. Rare roast beef slices with a fabulous horseradish sauce, Yorkies with gravy (I wouldn't have minded another couple of those), some potatoes and carrots and what I think were collard greens, and some cheese cauliflower. We finished it off with some sticky toffee pudding which was amazing. Combined with eating outside and some agreeable weather, it was a great meal! I have no idea how authentic of a Sunday roast meal it was, as I have nothing with which I can compare it, but every bite was tasty!

Very nice good and service. Tables could have been cleaner and decor generally improved but it kept a pub feel about it which worked. The lamb was cooked to perfection. Slightly strange infra red camera pointing down at our table if being mildly picky. Main and starter with drinks hit almost 45 a head which is on the high side

Had a delicious slow-roasted lamb shoulder dish with root vegetables. Very tender and flavorful. The restaurant has a tastefully rustic decor, which was enhanced by complementary Christmas decorations during my visit in December. Enjoyable visit.

Wonderful seemingly small, quaint restaurant with outside seating and a well stocked bar at the entry. Once you enter you find its quite large with an upstairs VIP room. The chef does marvelous things with... everything... then comes the sticky toffee dessert, absolute heaven. We will make this a regular stop when we want a special treat. Did I mention the staff? Excellent and friendly.

We arrived late on a Thursday and they kindly kept the kitchen open to feed us. Went back for Sunday roast today and it was more of the fabulous same - cosy fun atmosphere, couples, families, singles, young and old. Great quality Brit fare, friendly service. We would never eat at same place twice in 4 days especially in a town like London with so much choice but this was really solid. Thankyou people’s!

Had a nice post-Thanksgiving Sunday turkey roast, which came with tasty roast potatoes, an excellent Yorkshire Pudding and a mix of cabbage, carrots and celery. Overall very good, though the cranberry sauce seemed to be free of cranberries. Drinks are quite expensive, food price might even count as to-be-expected in South Ken. A 12.5% service charge is mandatory on top. The interior felt rustic, homelike and very comfortable, but nothing too special. They have an open-space kitchen, but most of the action is a bit in the back, so we didn't notice a lot of cooking smells but couldn't see the chef at work either. The service was good overall. Nothing to complain really, but at times the waiters could have let their eyes wander a little more.

Appears to have changed substantially. The menu is significantly different to what has been posted before. A passable if not particularly good burger

Although our meal started off well, the delays in food caused us a delay in arriving for our show. We always have dinner early in the area, but never had such a major delay.

Went here with a friend after strolling through the Natural History Museum. The place is gorgeous and great for pics and conversation. Their portions are definitely hearty, it took awhile for us to finish all our food. Staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive, despite the place being pretty empty when we were there.

Loved the place. Prompt and attentive service, great suggestions and I had the most amazing saltbush rump of lamb and I will go back for more. Perfect place to chill out on your own on a rainy evening with amazing food and lively beers and wines to match

A few weeks back when my friend was still back in town decided to meet early for breakfast to make the most of our time together. A few clicks on Google led us to Bumpkin in South Kensington. The Christmas decoration and the cosy interior were a perfect way to start the day. It has a neighbourhood feel to it for sure.

One of my favourite spots in London. I was here recently with my Mum for dinner and it was gorgeous. We both opted for the half grilled chicken with all the trimmings and then shared a pavlova. Food was really tasty and I would highly recommend coming here next time you are in the area. I love the layout it is very chilled and homey. All round winner.

This is my favorite Bumpkin, hands down!

As with their Chelsea location, Bumpkin is a distinctly British experience and highlights the absolute best of hearty, British cuisine. Everything from burgers to lamb chops to pies, Bumpkin caters to all.

Decor at this location is a bit more polished than the Chelsea one, but similar with large wooden tables, large chairs, festive wall paper...Somehow both rustic and upscale. Casual but worth getting a bit dressed up for.

The food is pretty much the best and I have had many many a pleasant meal here. I've included a series of photos from various visits to showcase their wide breadth of menu options. I would recommend their MacNCheese and Ribs for the starter, and if you have not already tried their Steak & Ale pie, you really really ought to. My favorite dessert here is their chocolate log.

Pricey but well worth it. Perfect for an intimate dinner with a close friend or loved one.

Fantastic cuisine, friendly and prompt service. Highly recommended!

Despite a moment of food envy when I saw the Dressed Cornish crab, Avruga caviar on toast that someone else had ordered, I was utterly delighted with my choice. The egg was perfectly poached (a feat I’ve never managed) the asparagus did credit to the season and the incredibly clever person in the kitchen had done dehydrated Tomato Skins which are probably a horrible faff but really tasty....Would I recommend Bumpkin? Yes, Yes and Yes – the food and atmosphere is lovely and I can’t wait to visit Alice’s boudoir again – even if I have to pay this time!

You just have to end the meal with the sticky toffee pudding.. I must say its one of the best.. Not overly sweet, spongy and soft pudding, fragrant from the spice and lovely toffee sauce and the vanilla ice cream that comes with it is a happy marriage of flavours…

It’s a casual restaurant to go to for brunch, especially with kids – they have a special Kids menu as well (before or after a visit to the Science Museum or the Natural History Museum). Service is courteous, although it can be more attentive (they forget to bring a dish for almost an hour, despite a few reminders) and can be more accommodating (e.g., when you ask for a juice to be served in a shorter glass, they say it cannot be done, really??)
Christine
Bumpkin is a gorgeously comfy place, not on the nicest stretch of road, but once you're in there, who cares? You'd never notice what was going on outside anyway - it's all about what's right in front of you.

Not hugely exciting but classic and comfortable British food at South Kensington. Lovely setting (gastropub like with good natural lighting), cosy and especially quiet for weekday lunch. It does get very busy for dinner so best to book. The dishes we tried were: Caramelised onion tart Roasted duck with potatoes Whole roast baby chicken with lemon, thyme, capers and roasted tomato sauce Sides: squash and broccoli Creamy egg custard tart with nutmeg and a jar of rhubarb and cu

Once upon a time the site that now houses Bumpkin was a Belgian Beer Bar. I can remember being dragged there partly for the beer, but more significantly because it’s almost opposite the Ferrari garage in South Kensington. And, that is, apparently, a really good reason to go there! Now, it’s been transformed into a rather charming shabby chic country house style restaurant, one of a group of three in West London serving predominantly modern British Food sourced from British suppliers. It’s a pretty, relaxed interior, with soft colour schemes and distressed wooden floors. And the service, at least when we visited, was fast and smooth without being pushy. Our bread came with butter and rapeseed oil. Fabulous idea, even though while I love championing British produce and I know rapeseed oil is local, it still doesn’t work for me in salads or with bread, though I respect the restaurant for serving it and know there are plenty of people who like it.

Stepping into Bumpkin in South Kensington is like stepping into a country gastro pub or chintz free tea room. It's warm, cosy and comforting and really what a great restaurant should be with mismatched chairs and modern lounge and chart music and a wine list larger than the main menu. It's the kind of place to go with family or friends at the weekend and seems to hold the air of whatever season it currently is. We went in December and the whole place oozed wintery appeal. Seated at a round table at the back of the restaurant we were able to watch the goings on in the kitchen and the general buzz of the place. We asked the waiter to recommend some wine and were told that waiting until we'd all chosen our food would be the best way for the waiter to help. Sound words. An easily drinkable Pinot Grigio worked well with our choices with one of us opting for a glass of Beaujolais Villages. Bumpkin labels itself 'a taste of seasonal Britain' and the menu

...its image and menu are all rather hackneyed.

After a fun night at the Science Museum Lates (which you really ought to go to - it's an adults only night where they open up a bar on each level and let the 'kids at heart' run wild), my friend and I found ourselves starving and on the lookout for somewhere nice, not too expensive and not too far away, as it was nearing the 10pm mark - a little late for dinner. With Twitter to the rescue, we settled on Bumpkin . Even at a late hour they were bustling and politely seated us at a lovely, but extremely loud table. I felt bad because as I perused the menu, I suddenly had a craving for Thai instead of heavy roasts and pies. And then I spotted the specials. I managed to nab myself the very last order of Steamed Mussels, served with a saffron cream sauce, clams and crispy 'streaky' bacon (£14.95) : It was tasty. The saffron cream was great, the clams and bacon plentiful. I remember think at the time that it was a wee bit expensive (mussels are pretty cheap to buy, even from a retail fishmon

Delicious, British food done well! Lots of feel-good food as well as lighter options. Will definitely go back! Hard to go wrong with picking this restaurant!

Bumpkin is your best weapon against cold weather! This place is very cosy and warm and serves delicious "comfort" food. The pies are a must, with the steak pie being my favorite. I have also heard that the fish and chips are delicious too. Beware though, portions are very large! I wasn't too impressed by the deserts menu, however the rest of the menu is great!
