chill at a 2:45pm Sat and got quite busy at 3:45 when we left. need to wait 30 mins for all of our 5 small plates, could've serve some in advance as we got 2 people and order 5 plates. it's also surprising that only one member of staff is running the area, except whoever in the hidden kitchen ofc. Overall still a very decent experience, comfortable seating and live sport, boardgames and books avaliable in the pub.

Really lovely local pub with everything you could ask for: ales on tap, many beers, extensive wine list, and a fantastic food menu. The pies are a real treat and are presented beautifully. Lovely welcoming atmosphere that’s perfect for a casual get together with friends. I loved the quirky features of the pub like the small steam engine in a glass display box, and the train time display behind the bar so you have one less excuse for missing the last train! Friendly and helpful staff too. What’s not to like?!

Here on a Sunday. The service from Jonah was great! He was working on his own (the pub seemed to be very short staffed despite being busy). He managed a very busy drinks bar and food orders for several hours, on his own. Credit to him. Since the pub has been taken over by another much bigger company the place isn't what it used to be.

Love this pub! Great location and good food and drinks. Really spacious inside and a decent beer garden out back. Bonus that you'll never miss your train as they have a departures board above the bar.

Visited for the first time in years, last time was when it was the Hobgoblin. Nice decor, good music playing. Greeted by friendly knowledgeable staff who recommended the vegan tacos which are nice & a good size. Also had the cheeseburger which was cooked perfectly with a nice onion marmalade. For dessert we ordered the sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel ice cream & the pear sorbet (recommended for pear lovers). Finally the espresso Martini's, of which my partner raved about & had quite a few :). A nice touch is the electronic trainstation timetable behind the bar, you can enjoy a pint safe in the knowledge you are not going to miss your train.

What a most delightful pub, opposite Forest Hill station. Say your prayers before crossing, it is the South circular! Lovely beer (Cold on a Hot day!) And wonderful staff. Tried using the app but didn't spot the table number, small but on the qr code tile. So, looked like a Muppet but just for a moment! A good looking selection on the food specials board. A very enjoyable visit. Give it a try. PS. Loved the ex industrial lamps above the bar + the train departure board behind the bar is a real treat, even if I missed one to have an extra pint!

Stopped at The Signal last night for a quick pint and some delicious fish and chips. The batter was just right, and super crispy, and the fries that I ordered were also lovely and crispy. I’m not usually a fan of mushy peas, but these were great. Service was fantastic, will definitely be coming back.

A warm welcome from delightful new manager, Cat. Great food too and generous servings. Being a mid-week lunchtime, it was fairly quiet, but easy to see how the ambience must flourish at the busier times - which it richly deserves. Family and dog-friendly too.
