I don't know how I haven't reviewed this fish and chip shop before now. This place has been a favourite for years. 5 star food hygiene. Large portions. Freshly cooked. Friendly staff that remember their regulars. The absolute only negative is that they are cash only
They also make kebabs that always look good, but I've never ordered one. I did try the grilled lamb chops a few times and those are excellent, but the stand out here is their fish and chips in my opinion
I have been eating from Britannia since I was a kid. I use to always get a lollipop - now it's my niece and nephew who always get one. I remember my Dad coming here to get us fish and chips. Absolutely superb. Quality is outstanding and service is on point. The guys are so friendly.
Best fish and chips I've been to to date. Their kebabs are great too! No matter where I may be living I will always drive down to Britannia for their reliable fish and chips. My mouth is watering for fish and chips as I write this review lol. Would highly recommend!!

The doner kebab was amazingly good, no fat and really well cooked. As was the chicken shish kebab and the chips were exceptionally good last Monday over a week ago. Freshly cooked and made exactly how i wanted it.

Mum introduced me to these guys and myself and children love their chips and other food items. I travel from Croydon to get food. Even after work I'll divert from my route home to purchase. I would recommend this place for good food and very friendly staff.
Best fish and chips in the area, its fish is well battered, too much for my own taste, cannot fault its interior. Good old fashioned chips, loads of them. Throughly recommend, them, unless there are better. 😊Happy to discuss

Our Aunty really enjoys the fish and chips (and so do we). Cod roe is lovely and not greasy. They don't take card payments so do bear that in mind. Thanks guy!!

We bought fish and kebabs from Britannia last week.Staff were very friendly and service was fast.Great food.We shall be back.
Solid proper chip shop. Chips come in all paper (yay!) And were cooked to order. The large was big enough for a family of 4, so next time I'll be trying the medium size. I'd also ask for them to be extra crispy - they were on the light side of cooked.

One of the best fish and chips in South London. The place is extremely clean and very good on pricing. When you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff who are witty and ready to take your order. The cod and half chips are amazing and the fish is cooked fresh. The place also has the usual including fried chicken that Wookie would be proud of,spring rolls are also fantastic. At the end of shop is a separate kebab bar which was as fresh has the air in a forest in lockdown.
All the ingredients looked fresh on one of my previous visits and well prepared.
The place is only 5 minutes walk from the Tooting Market, walk up Blakenham Road and turn down Gassiot Road.
The place is pretty with busy with locals,key workers, students and the odd celebrity.
I ordered 2 pieces of cod and half portion of chips and still had change in my pocket.
Go and try it now and I finallycame back today for my usual 2 portion of cod and half chips. 02/07/2021. Still filling and tasty.
