My first time trying Waakye and was very impressed!
I got it with fish which was tasty. I wasn't a big fan of the boiled egg and spaghetti on too so I discarded that but the rest was great, and a huge portion for £10! Kept me going for 3 meals
The food was very good. The owners were so accommodating. When we got there they had to make a spot for us there because a large party had just arrived there. The place is very small though. The red red was amazing and huge portions. The omo tuo was moist and the groundnut soup was tasty. We had suya kebab which was seasoned well and the jerk chicken... wow the best ive have in the uk so far; actually infused with the spices. I know they are a newer restaurant so I would suggest they have more decor. I would definitely visit again; just wish it wasnt so far or small.
We love this restaurant, especially the staff was very friendly and they helped us pick our food. It was the best fish I ever had!!!
Great food. Amazing customer service.
Tastes nice, but got just one piece of chicken in the set meal of jollof+chicken (£10)...
Family business where people are happy and thus service is good. I tried this dish (Kenko?) Where the main is a ball of paste made with fermented maize and goes with fried fish. Was an acquired taste but definitely worth a try even for the less adventurous because as the lady boss puts it, "Variety is the spice of life!"
The fried fish was tasty and the two sauces that came (one tangy and punchy with chillies, the other savoury and deep because of shrimp) were delicious. The authentic way to eat is with your hands, so dig in (but don't touch your eyes 🔥). They provide a bowl of water and soap to wash after.
No frills, happy people, simple food - really made my day (:
The food was absolutely amazing! It was fresh, full of flavour and value for money.
Beautiful food, amazing service 😋
The food is nice! The Jollof rice is so soft with lots of flavour. The grilled chicken is also flavoured just enough, I love the aromas that come from the bbq drum when I pass.
Indoor layout could be improved, it appears to be more of a takeaway than a dine in restaurant.
Glad to have local African cuisine, you will not be hungry after eating these portions!
👍🏾
Great Experience Staff are super friendly and so helpful
The food was decent
The customer service was excellent.
I would recommend this place to others.
I placed an order for the first time with Accra Palace via UberEats yesterday, and would give this restautant more stars if I could.
Customer service: excellent! I called them before placing my order due to a question I had, and they called me after I placed my order due to 1 item not being available and allowing me to swap for something else. Both times they were friendly and helpful.
Food: excellent! I was amazed at the portion sizes - much, MUCH bigger than expected (looking forward to having leftovers later today). The flavours were absolutely amazing! I am vegan and they have some great options!
Price: excellent! At first, while placing the order, I thought the prices were a bit high. But based on the portion sizes, quality, flavour, and customer service - this is definitely great value for money!
Delivery: excellent! The food arrived quickly/within the estimated time, was well packaged (no spillage etc.), and was still piping hot - credit to both, Accra Palace and UberEats.
Great food and friendly service. A gem of a place. The kebabs are so tasty. All our party enjoyed our food and we will be back again for sure. It’s a shame we don’t live close enough to use the delivery services available.
Very happy with the wakye + service. The Jolof wasn't impressive though. Hopefully the restaurant is finished on time
