Been there many times and what attract me to this place is the Non-Vegetarian Buffet which consists of rice, rice pulao, paratta, egg curry, lamb curry, chicken curry, vegetable fry, sambar, rasam, yoghurt, salad, pappadam and payasam for dessert. All this for just £5.99. Though the food is not very great the price you pay offsets that.
My only complaint is the pierison smells of raw milk because milk is not cooked enough and does not integrate into Payasam. If only they can correct that it’s a 4 Star Restaurant.
In London?? Missing home food?? Then make a dine here.. chicken brinyani, plain rice, paratha, mutton gravy, egg curry, sambar, rasam, 3 veggies, curd and milk payasam.. had a tummy fill lunch..
Spicy Mutton? Yes. Kerala Parotha? Yes. Fish fry? Yes. Idli-vada-sambhar? Yes. This restaurant ticks all the boxes for a good Malayali meal.
We often settle in for buffet (5 pounds per person) for the spicy mutton curry that they serve. Its brilliant and you can pay 5 pounds just to have that with white rice. They also serve hot Kerala parothas with the buffet meal, but you really have to keep asking for it.
Being a Malayali restaurant they definitely do great fish. Fish curry is quite spicy and very mallu mess-ish (Being a Bangalorean I obviously love it)
I would have given it a much higher rating had the other things been in place apart from the yummy food. The buffet is usually cold and you really have to keep asking to warm it up.
Its a very basic place with no frills and fancy attachments. But the staff is very nice. Quite sweet actually!
Brilliant Afghani / Pakistani food. Biryani was delicious and meat was very soft. Falvours were perfect. Enjoyed the food and price good too. I'd prefer to have biryani in barkingside, leas traffic more parking as oppossed to Ilford. Also loved the haleem.
Beautiful place, food is cooked from scratch right before your eyes. Hygiene is top notch, nice humble chefs, Lovely place to hang out with friends for a good Money's worth fresh meals. I love the way they run their restaurant. Best restaurant and takeaway in the whole of Barkingside 10/10
Needs to be a little cleaned but the food is AMAZING! I love it so much. Worth every penny.
We tried:
- The mixed chicken wings and lamb ribs
- The chicken curry
- The kebab
I've also ordered take away from them. We got mixed grill with the lamb curry, the chicken curry and bread.
I will definitely order again and again. Will order a big family meal tomorrow when my family visit me! Can't wait!
I can say that this is the best Kebabish in Barkingside. Very lovely and friendly staff, very hospitable and delicious food.
The best Pakistani food resturant in Ilford, they represent true tastes from the streets of Lahore. the menu is filled with joy able Pakistani dishes, especially the Haleem and Nihari is a Must try , Recommended for all.
the best part of the experience is the management treats you with the same hospitality that you can experience in streets of Lahore and for what it is famous.

Usually order a family mix grill, decent amount of food for the price and the platter is full of flavour. The shop is nice and clean, having been to all the other kebab shops on Barkingside high street my personal opinion is that this particular kebab shop has the best tasting food along with reasonable prices.
So as a direct rival to the original (long established) Kebabish on the other side of the road its a worthy rival with good quality food and the staff are friendly and helpful. Would it convince me to switch? Probably not for take out but for dine in with the family I'd prefer here.
Lovely biriyani, enjoying it as we speak, good portion of takeaway salad too… was looking for a tomato and couldn’t find any but pleased to see cucumbers and plenty of it too. Thanks!
Good food, grilled chicken is moist, not dry like other places. Curries are good too if a tad greasy. Reasonable prices too. Really helps with my low carb high protein diet. I am using them 4-5 times a week. Keep it up guys.
I deeply enjoyed my visit at this restaurant the cuisines were well priced with variety. And the service was top notch and the hygiene level was better than expected. Worth a visit!
One of my favorite restaurants in the city
Went there for a birthday meal. There was 22 of us and we ordered several platters, biryanis and curries. Everything tasted fresh and had different flavours. Food was generous and service was efficient. Had a great experience!
Best food around this area. Lovely atmosphere and staff. Highly recommend if you are from this area.
