One of my favourite steak houses. I always go for the fillet and have never been disappointed, it's like heaven in my mouth. The Malbec complements it very well too. Staff are always friendly and welcoming, and we have never waited too long to be seen or for food to come out. I think one time I was kept waiting 5 minutes for a coffee and they kept me updated without me having to ask and it was definitely worth the wait. I love this place and has been a long time favourite for many years and hopefully many more to come!
Food was delicious and staff were pleasant there too. Its not the cheapest place to have a meal but worth it if you have some money to spare. We ordered the Tbone and ribsteak I believe? Anyhow it was delicious.
This place is superb. My steak was cooked to perfection and the service was great. Thank you.
Wasn't sure where to eat. Saw what looked nice on the outside. Wandered in and thought hmm not sure, but staff very friendly and polite, service quick and food very tasty. Would come again. Thanks to all the staff for making a lovely meal out with my mum.
I went there with my family ; the restaurant was quite and pleasant. All of us had steak and my son had burgers . The steak was juicy and texture was perfect . I think this is one of the best steak in the town . Waiter and Manager was very friendly and environment was very clean . I would definitely go there again for my steak appetite .
One of THE BEST steaks I've ever enjoyed.. I could cut it with a fork and the staff was wonderful. Will definitely be back my next trip to London!
Food was flavorful and service was good. A little more expensive than expected for what food there was. Salad is one tomato and a cucumber with a little iceberg lettuce. Nachos are homemade and so is the guacamole. Chicken fajitas run about 15 for two. Kiddo loved the chicken burger and chips but it was 13. Great ambiance with lively music and original art on the walls. Cherry wood and rich design. Great selection of wines and spirits.
Amazing food, great ambience, courteous staff. Nothing more to add.
One of the finest steak I've eaten in my life.
Top notch steak! Excellent service. Cute Argentinian vibe and ambiance. Really loved it been here twice and will be back again!
Reasonably priced and good service. Dropped one star as I ordered the rib eyed steak rare but it turned out to be med rare/medium. They told me they had to make it medium rare to render the fat but it looks more like a medium to me. Also, would have appreciate if they told me earlier before they cooked it and I could have changed my order. Other than that, they are good. I'll definitely visit this place again
Absolutely fantastic! It was very quiet but as can be expected for a Sunday.
The wait staff were lovely, a great wine selection and our food was amazing.
I had a ribeye steak and it cracked top 20 of the best steaks I've ever had (I eat a lot of steak)
The steak was cooked to perfection, the portions were generous, the chips were seasoned beautifully, food came out hot and the meal looked as good as it tasted. The interior aesthetics of the restaurant itself could definitely use a lot of work, but if you're in the market for a delicious steak and don't mind the a bit of a mid-decorating feel to the restaurant, definitely check it out.
I've only been once but I ordered a fillet steak and OMG! It was soooooo nice. Easily that steak could've been priced double in a more exclusive restaurant. It was seriously amazing. The service was great too. The sides (veg and chips) were pretty average though. It felt like those could've been cooked from a frozen packet.
Magic and other cool stuff
+5
We both walked in not expecting much given the rather tacky decor BUT the steaks were wow. Admittedly one of the steaks was over cooked but the staff were happy to have it replaced or give a discount instead. They were apologetic but aside from this, we were honestly taken aback by how flavoursome the steaks were. Last week we dined at Gordon Ramseys Maze grill. I promise you the steak here is actually tastier. That may sound like hyperbole but it's true. Extremely juicy and seasoned perfectly. Great chips too. We're definitely going back.
After a nice day in the most recent Comic Con, we wanted to have a nice meal with good meat in mind. We previously saw this place, finally it was open & serving dinner at the same time we were looking for a place to eat. We were greeted by a young waiter that allowed us the table we chose by the window. The restaurant is quite spacious. On a wall was a picture of Argentinian tango dancers, the bull & some other decorations that somehow set the mood. There is also a bar with a variety of drinks. It was quite easy to find the toilets at the farthest end of the restaurant. Choices on the menu were decent & left us deciding what we would prefer. We started with Argentinian wine, decided to skip starters & went straight for the mains. We had steak fillet medium to well done & Tres Carne which consists of rump, sirloin & fillet steak medium to rare. Waiting time was appropriate. Our first impression with the fillet steak that was done medium to well was wrong as the meat was so juicy & seemed not cooked well. The three steak meal was done properly. With the steak we had, peppercorn sauce was spot on for me. We also had traditional Argentinian sauce called Chimichurri which was a bit oily with onions & some other vegetables which we couldn’t really determine. This sauce is good but not for everyone as it has a distinctive taste. After the main course, we had Walnut Wonder as dessert to share. Its vanilla ice cream topped with glaze walnut & caramel sauce. We both agreed that that was really the best dessert we had in a long time. We also had Irish coffee which did not really standout but it was nice nonetheless. The prices of the meals were reasonable considering that the restaurant is in London. The young waiter was not really knowledgeable but was trying his best to do the best service. At one point, the restaurant got busier thus we did not get a proper attention but that did not stop us to enjoy the meal. If we would be in the same area, most likely we would return. There were other choices in the menu that were quite appealing. Thank you for reading this really long review. We hope you will have as good experience as we had.
The restaurant was excellent. The environment was quite and peace. The food quality was great; I love their steak. The service was excellent. The waitress and manager was quite polite and went extra mile. Overall the food and service is excellent and good value for money. I will recommend my friends to try that restaurent.
Really good steak, menu has pasta, chicken, mexican and burgers as well. Good prices, large portions.
Cons-room temperature wine, a little loud.
Still Iwould recommend it. Try the steak trio, you will love at least one!
One unusual thing, manager asked us to pay in cash. We declined and paid with credit card.
My partner and I have been here twice now, and really like the steaks there.
There is nothing really notable about the decor, and its location is a bit inconvenient for us - but the food is good and that's what counts.
We started with a jug of sangria, which, seemed authentic but not as refreshing as the sangria you can find elsewhere (like in Salvador & Amanda for example). The nachos starter however were among the tastiest I've had - the tortilla chips were large, light and crispy. They made scooping up the fantastic salsa a real joy.
Then our steaks came. I ordered the 300gm Sirloin, medium with my partner requesting the 300gm T Bone rare. The meat was a pleasure to cut into, with lovely juices oozing out as the soft steaks just fell away at the blade. Each meaty bite was rich and fulfilling.
The sides however were a bit underwhelming. Accompanying the main attraction were some dry peas and carrots. The small portion of gravy was welcome, but I would have liked more gravy to add to the vegetables. The chips were sufficient and helped keep the meal going.
All in all, for an Argentinian Steakhouse, we believe El Toro satisfies all expectations and offers an enjoyable evening (at great value if you have a Groupon or deal to hand!)
Uncle Jule took me to the Argentine Steakhouse for my pre birthday party. He's the man. Mike Baskerville lives this dude man!
