But there’s only so much enthusiasm you can muster up for poached eggs and avocado on toast (again) with a couple of watery mimosas. So when I was invited along to try Tootoomoo’s offering, I was pretty excited – Pan-Asian tapas is exactly what I crave on a hangover, so I dragged along a close friend (also similarly hungover) to check it out.

One of the highlights of the meal for me were the Popcorn Rock Shrimp, served with nori dust and yuzu mayo. Shrimp wrapped in batter really did look like popcorn and had that moreish, can’t-stop-nibbling allure like its namesake.
Sometimes, when I find a type of food I like, I just eat and eat and eat it and that's kind of what I'm doing at the moment with Pan Asian. I hope you guys aren't bored of it yet because I've got another great recommendation for you, with the best name ever: TooTooMoo. TooTooMoo have a cluster of restaurants in North London which specialise in Pan Asian - a fusion of oriental cooking styles from Thai and Chinese to Vietnamese.
We ordered takeaway from these guys, choosing a set menu for 2 with a couple of starters, 2 mains and plenty of rice.
Unfortunately delivery took an hour instead of the stated 30 minutes so when the food arrived it wasn't piping hot, and the rib and chicken starters were a little on the dry side. Would've been fine if they came with sauces but they didn't - one to think about adding TooTooMoo!
However, would highly recommend the beef randang curry, which is a divine mix of beef, sweet potato and coconut. Great taste and texture, absolutely delightful. Also had a chilli chicken which was tasty but nothing too special as far as Chinese food goes.
All in all some quality food and ingredients here but would've preferred a little hotter and a little less dry.
Small place that gets very busy, which I think is a good sign. The food and atmosphere was awesome. I had two different Dim Sum and Katsu Chicken Curry with rice. And The Chilli Chicken . And it was fantastic. I absolutely love this place. I will travel from South London to eat here. I like it this much. The food is amazing, the staff are nice and open, welcoming. I love the atmosphere. One minus is that is always PACKED, but hey! That's a good sign! I'm just bad at reserving tables, really.

An unforgettable dining experience! The Chicken Gyoza had a perfect blend of textures, and the Tempura Prawns were incredibly light and crispy. This restaurant truly knows how to elevate Asian cuisine
The staff fantastic and attentive, in particular the Saroni in a red jumper who served me and my Wife .The food was delicious and what we’ve come to expect from Tootoomoo. I had the Smoked Chicken and if it was double the price I would be happy. Great service, great food, good price. Will be visiting again even though it’s not my local Tootoomoo
Had a great time at a great place with great people, the food was excellent, and the service stood out.
Such an amazing food lovely environment and good customer service small place but well decorated my favourite salmon miso and Smoke chicken
Great, fast service and good food. I was so pleased they were able to tone down the spice in the green curry as I love it . The katsu curry was good so were the dumplings. Good vegan options! Really good food
Tootoomoo is an Pan Asian restaurant in London with locations in Islington, Crouch End and Whetstone. We visited the Islington branch to try out their new bottomless brunch. The deal is three courses and unlimited beer or prosecco for an hour and a half (£29.95pp) or two hours (£34.95pp) available at weekends from 12-5pm.
You can select one starter, one type of dumpling and a main of noodles or rice and can add dessert for £5pp. We opted for the Veggie spring rolls (vegan), Edamame (vegan), Crispy duck rolls and Chicken gyoza to start. The Edamame was a great big portion of lovely fresh beans and covered in salt - perfection! Both the spring rolls were crispy and delicious with sauces of sweet chilli and hoisin. The gyoza were delicious and cooked perfectly with a good amount of crispiness.
For our mains we had the Bún Ga: vermicelli, grilled chicken satay, beansprout salad & sweet chilli. We also opted for the Pad Thai Veggie: egg, chilli, assorted vegetables, tofu, lime & peanut. You can make this dish vegan by removing the eff. The Bún Ga was a bed of rice noodles topped with a chicken satay sauce with chunks of grilled chicken. It was flavoursome whilst not being too spicy sauce and rather moreish! The salad had mint running through it which was a tasty addition to the noodles. The Pad Thai was equally good - full of veggies with big chunks of flavour filled fried tofu…delicious!
The food was consistently good and not too heavy which is always the risk with a three course brunch. We did not have to ask the staff to fill up our glasses (yey!) and they were very helpful and friendly throughout the meal.
The restaurant itself is small but pretty with big wide windows with the sun streaming through. For a bottomless brunch, particularly for vegans, it is a great shout. Tootoomoo is also open for dinner and is definitely worth checking out if you are looking for a Pan Asian restaurant in London.
Had great time with friends, lovely food and great customer service, amazing experience...
Culinary perfection redefined! The Chicken Gyoza melted in our mouths, while the Tempura Prawns were a golden revelation. A meal that left us in awe of the artistry behind these dishes.
So much good food to choose from, excellent and friendly staff, who are not stingy with water!! It’s hard to find good Pan Asian restaurants in London so this is an absolute treat! I would highly recommend sharing meals with friends and family to get a feel for the cuisine, enjoy!
A journey to flavor paradise! The Prawn Crackers were addictive, the Edamame provided a refreshing crunch, and the Vegetable Gyoza was a taste of authenticity. Each bite felt like a celebration
Flavors that stole the show! The Edamame set the tone for a memorable meal, and the Vegetable Gyoza was a medley of delightful tastes. The Prawn Crackers were an absolute highlight!
Tootoomoo Islington's innovative take on Asian fusion is commendable. The food is always fresh, vibrant, and bursting with authentic flavors. A true culinary delight!
I recently visited the restaurant for my b’day party with my friends and it was awesome. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Nice and wide menu with lots of vegan and gluten-free must come back and recommend
