Besides being a spectacular building, the staff were super friendly and helpful. It’s not a large museum but I found the space to be well utilised. The Andy Warhol exhibition running in Summer 2023 lends really interesting context as a precursor to his work as a pop art pioneer.
Visited during Andy Warhol: The Textiles.
A small 3 room exhibition bringing you close up to the seeds of Pop Art and all that followed
Worth a visit if you love fashion. Its good to support the small museums like this one if you can. The exhibits are not large so its a good place to go if you have an half an hour to an hour to spare. I live around the corner from the venue. I went to see the recent Kaffe Fassett exhibition which I
The current exhibition (Winter 22/23) features the work of Kaffe Fassett. No sign of Zandra when I visited, but the always fabulous Diane was in attendance.
I visited this small but impressive museum, it was probably my lucky day when I visited because the exhibit (Weavers of the Clouds) was just great. Great pieces, stories of the people making the pieces, the description of materials to create the pieces, everything well curated and organized. I felt
Went to see an exhibition about 60s boutiques and their impact on the counter culture. Some interesting facts but not curated that brilliantly and the clothes were quite disappointing. Not as dazzling by any means as the exhibition photo. The best thing was the projections upstairs of 60s news artic
Excellent gallery with very well curated and researched exhibitions. I've seen one about art deco fashion a while ago which was absolutely fantastic - ruch and varied. I'm looking forward to the Andy Warhol textiles one before it closes. People complaining about the size of the gallery should do th
I’ve visited the museum three times now, photos are of my most recent visit the 1930s Night and Day exhibit. It’s a lovely layout and always well presented. Staff are friendly and the ticket prices are reasonable for the exhibit.
Only issue is the cloak room isn’t monitored so I do fear putting my c
I love Andy Warhol art but I didn't know he had done fabric prints, it's his work from the mid to late 50s to 60s. You can see where he developed his art from his textiles to his pop art, anyone interested in pop art, textiles & fashion should go see this exhibition it's fantastic.
Absolutely loved the Kaffe Fasset collection of prints! Vibrant, joyful and inspiring for a fellow textiles designer!
Really enjoyed looking at the textiles and embroidery on display. So wonderful to know that the embroidery and textile arts are alive and well at this museum and school.
Really interesting museum. Worth a trip, particularly if you have an art pass. I enjoyed looking at all of the dresses and the fabrics used to make them. If I lived in the area, I would visit frequently to see all the different exhibits since they change frequently.
I've loved every exhibition I've seen here, the lay out, the themes, the information, the colours. It's never felt too crowded.
Nice exhibit space - well laid out, well lit, very informative info-panels. I went to the ‘60s fashion exhibit which I loved ! And for bonus points it’s in a great neighbourhood and only a couple of steps from London Bridge Station.
Went to see the Andy Warhol exhibition, great curation of pieces, and friendly staff. But the exhibition could be a bit more interactive and informative rather than just a display of the pieces.
