Had my birthday dinner there last night. Table of 20 with set menu for all (separate) main for vegetarian. Amazing food and wine. Great atmosphere. Fantastic staff brilliant evening couldn't more highly recommende
Very chilled out pub, great food, great garden, dogs welcome! Staff very friendly 😊👌
Lovely pub am definitely coming to this gorgeous pub again
Amazing food and a great vibe!
The Spurstowe was made for Sundays. Tucked away between Hackney Central and London Fields, it's one of our locals and one of those places you could sit in for hours. Having celebrated a friend's 30th the night before, we battled the September showers to meet some old friends - who were nursing much sorer heads than ours. We grabbed the empty round table by the stained glass windows (told you this place is good) and lined up the Bloodys (Ashley firmly believes these are his favourite in the whole of London). The enviable drinks are matched by a nice menu - from a local sausage roll at £5 to a whole chicken with all the trimmings at £14, there's something for everyone; I went for the porc rillettes and cornichons, and a side of hand cut chips with aioli. And would definitely recommend.
It's the sister to one of my favourite East End locals - The Royal Oak on Columbia Road - and well worth a visit. The Spurstowe's well-loved and has that welcoming come-one come-all feel (don't be deceived by the hipster address) that feels just a little bit like home. Come for the Bloody Marys and stay for the atmosphere, the mismatched furniture and the elusive pub cat.
Younger, dare I say it, typical Hackney hipster crowd with loud, fairly unimaginative music and nightclub atmosphere at 8.30pm on a Saturday evening. High prices for basic beer (£7.20 for a Neck Oil! £20 for Navetas steak & chips (didn’t partake))maybe I’m not the target demographic in age or income. Busy, busy, there’s obviously a place for this kinda pub #22 #33
The chef here is top notch. We ordered the fried fish, tomato salad, baby gem salad and the burger. Everything was absolutely delicious - I’d highly recommend trying the burger it was the best we’ve ever had in London/England. The menu is always changing and is super creative. We’ll be back! (The only let down is the crowd in the pub and staff which make it seem like a chore to serve you)

This my local Pub and is a trendy, hip place which attracts an affluent ,young crowd who have moved in to the area over the past decade or so. Food is served or you can order in food to eat inside.
It has a West End feel for a local neighbourhood bar with a Beer Garden at the back and an enclosed outside area at the front for hanging out.
A cool, lively alternative to hitting the West End!
I was always put off going to this pub. Wasn't really my local. But damn it's a good pub! Solid beers off the tap that taste half decent. Friendly staff behind the bar and a really buzz going on.
PLEASE START WASHING YOUR BEER GLASSES I BEG OF YOU
Great pub, awesome atmosphere, beer is pricey but I get it - however... for £7.20 I expect my beer to come in a clean glass (those bubbles all over the inside of the glasses mean they're dirty / greasy), so the beer goes flat in about 3 mins,
Please... I just want the beer to taste good
The quintessential gastro pub, The Spurstowe Arms offers indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a limited but inventive menu.
The fish finger sandwich with pickled cucumbers and tarragon was heavenly!
Wash it down with a 🍺 and you’re all set.
Food and atmosphere amazing. One of the best pubs in east London
Very much an old school hackney pub tucked away in the back streets. Always liked the chilled vibe of this pub. Very popular with locals and Bohemians alike.
Has a beer garden and space outside the front to stand in summer. Kitchen is closed on Tuesday.
Great pub, super atmosphere
Good atmosphere, and great beer garden out the back.
Spenny but pleasant pub. A good size garden out the back. And interesting decor inside.
Traditional East London pub meets tasty restaurant 🍔🍟🍻
Fun pub with outdoor areas. Great on a sunny day
Good pub with great atmosphere. Gets very busy, but the back garden helps spread things out. Finding a table can be a challenge, and bar staff can be a little cold & business driven, but it's a great watering hole for locals and has a feel good vibe.
