Cheap and cheerful takeaway. This isn't premium Chinese food, but is a well priced takeaway with fast service and acceptable quality. The set meals are very good value, with the meal for two giving plenty of food for under £15.
The other night we decided to order a take-away and settled on Chinese for a change. Well, I say Chinese but New Winner’s menu is more Chinese-come-Thai-come-Asian-fusion.
This is my favourite Chinese restaurant in the Borough of Lewisham. I've been using them for at least 15 years. When I worked nearby, I would eat in for lunch and regularly get deliveries from them. I found other restaurants so disappointing, in comparison that I rarely order Chinese food if New Winner is closed. They also follow my order notes.

I’m not the type to write reviews. But New winner is one of the best out there. Their food is exceptionally good. It’s fresh and just overall tasty. I love their customer service on the phone and the delivery drop off people are lovely. The food is well packaged. Always hot upon arrival. Personally the best Chinese in Lewisham.
This is by far the best Chinese take away i've had in South East London. The food is always hot and fresh if i get it delivered (usually via just eat) its always quick when i go to collect. i eat here weekly, Friday night routine is dinner from here and mostly go and collect. The couple that run it are so nice and friendly and i always feel welcome. My favourite for a lunch time meal is smoked shredded chicken. Most recent order of veggie duck, peking ribs, salt and pepper prawns and chips and kung po chicken last Friday was so fresh and tasty - always good quality and balance of meat and veggies, i dont always eat meat and find it a good place for veggie options. my only complaint is i wish i could have this food in a sit down restaurant as its amazing. The area is lacking for decent Chinese takeaway, suffering from the standard cut-and-paste menus and bad quality. Fortunately, New Winner is here and does a great selection of all the classics with it's own flare. Really tasty, and we didn't feel like we'd just chugged a litre of cooking oil!
Amazing food! Our favourite dishes are the char sui buns, sweet and sour prawn balls and the special chow mein with udon noodles. Their menu is wonderful; you can choose different types of noodles and flavours of rice for most dishes, which makes the great dishes even better! In addition, the customer service is outstanding. My husband and I have nut/peanut allergies and they're always patient with us over the phone answering any questions we have. Also, they ALWAYS answer the phone when we call....which I can't say about most places.
Quick and polite service. Food was amazing. Loved it. Really nice portions. Price was a bit steep compared to others places I've been to but then again the food was way better. I guess you get what you pay for. 100% recommend
Me an my brother has eaten a takeaway from New winner for the first time, it was the best Chinese we had from when we was little, it's taken me 36 years to find a good Chinese takeaway, an the delivery nan was friendly,my brother is from Plymouth an he said it's the best Chinese he's ever had,will done to the chief 😋
Very good chinese takeaway in this area. Food are delicious with good prices. Much better than others in my opinion.
Great little Chinese takeaway. Consistently excellent food week after week. I wish I could go here more often. And the staff are always really really nice.
As I sit here typing - New winner is my favorite take away. However when I placed the order online it took 30 seconds for it to report the food had been prepared, and it has now been "on its way" for 20 mins..... lets see if it's warm by the time it arrives....
Arrived not long after - so <30 mins overall and was pleasantly warm and absolutely delicious as always!
We tried the egg fried rice with stir fried beef. The beef is a little salty but is really tender. The sweet and sour chicken with rice is also really good!
Also ordered the nasi lemak set with stir fried chicken. This combination of the coconut rice with that stir fried chicken sauce is amazing. If any singaporean or malaysian are craving this, give it a try! The combination is very interesting. If you eat the rice alone there is only a subtle coconut fragrance. You need to eat it together with the stir fried chicken and then you will taste the full nasi lemak taste! Not sure how they did it. But the entire meal served its purpose. Will order it again.
