The Antic group have done a good job... shabby chic decor, good beer, nice outside garden. Went to the comedy night. A hipsters paradise,
This is one of my favourite London pubs, amazing and reasonably priced food, great atmosphere and decor, and lovely staff.
Great vegan corn dog, very fun quiz! My new local
Loads better since Tim Field started running the place.
love this local...a revolution for Clapton..forever grateful...despite my rent now rising ;) x
Beautiful building with so much character. Its got such a great decor, high ceilings, little nook and crannies to sit. Have been there twice now, dinner and Sunday lunch. The beef pie was so delicious, a tad salty but really tasty and perfect for a cold rainy day. My first English Sunday lunch was here, delicious roast chicken, covered with lemon and thyme. Great on tap cider, and dogs are welcome too which I find a lovely and foreign concept.
The staff were friendly too!
This gastropub, from the same chain as The Chequers E17, has an accessible and well-priced menu. We’ve been for an enjoyable Sunday roast before so were looking forward to the our lunch today. We settled down with a bottle of house red wine at less than £14 amongst the junk shop, eclectic furnishings and watched the snow begin to fall outside.
Vintage feel pub with really good, constantly changing selection of house ales. I've tried Sunday Roast on two occasions - Topside was nice and pinky in the middle and Pork Belly went really well with Devon Apple Sauce. The only inconvenient thing was waiting time - on both occasions it took more than 30min for our dishes to arrive. The rest, pretty decent. Would definitely recommend for socializing/boozy night out with friends!
The ambience in this place is incredible, as it's an extraordinarily old pub that has a real vintage feel. The beer and wine menu's are extensive, although the dinner menu is quite minimal with a lot of vegetarian options. I ate the horseradish crusted salmon with chat potatoes and roasted fennel and it was great! Very hearty, filling meal.
Beautiful old pub with a lovely vibe. One of my favourite East London boozers. Comfy and well picked furniture that is inviting and tasteful. Lots of space, so you can usually find a table. Great select of beers and ales. Food reasonable. Prices are great. See if you can find the fun pinball machine in one corner.
Great atmosphere! Almost a museum! Lovely staff, music and space to chill, eat, and play!
Amazing. Sunday Roasts! A must try! But make sure you go on empty stomach! They are huge 🥰🔥🥰 !
Spacious bar, with the “beer garden” in the back. Has a pay-to-play fussball and pool table
- Beer & bone marrow burger’s just a standard Pattie burger
- Chicken burger is better as it’s buttermilk fried
Very nice service :) the bartender with the glassed was very nice and helpful, will definitely come back. I got recommended to come here by some friends and it was one of the highlights from my trip. Greetings from Spain :)
Really nice pub, serves a good range of drinks. And the food is very reasonable!
This is a nice pub with a good outside area although it rarely gets the sun for very long out the back. More likely to get the sun out the front. Range and price of drinks is pretty standard for the area. I haven’t eaten here although the menu looks good. My friend ate a mac n cheese here and said it was far too salty. Found the staff to be friendly and the facilities to usually be clean.
We organised a small event, hosted in a section of the pub. It went really well - the staff were really accommodating and made us feel welcome, even helping to sort out some tech for us which was above and beyond. We'd definitely come back for round 2!
Banging place, great food, great drinks list and amazing staff.
The building is a vibe and so is the beer garden. There's even a pool table... What else do you want in a pub eh?
The Y2K quiz night was a fantastic quiz night which I don’t think I’ve been to anything similar to it before.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and how affordable the drinks were, a great combo for a successful quiz night!
For their first time, they did a great job and I would absolutely go to more. Really warm and light hearted, looking forward to what’s in store next time.
Thank you :)
Attended the 2000s/y2k pub quiz last night and was pleasantly surprised by how fun it was. The host was accommodating and it was nice to find a quiz that was geared towards queer people! Lovely atmosphere and I made new friends. Would go again
Spacious pub, quite 'edgy', very 'East London' with distressed walls and furniture, doors mounted on the walls etc. Nice garden and good beers. Didn't try the food but it looked good from what I could see. Dog friendly.
I really liked The Clapton Hart. For a start, at £3.30 for a pint of bitter (and a good pint too) it's the cheapest pub in hackney I know. And it's a proper old style pub. Massive, with several rooms including comfy one off to the side. Pool table. Lovely.
service was a bit slow and awkward as it was hard to flag staff down while not being able to get up to go to the bar and there’s no app for ordering, but the person serving us was lovely and accommodating and the food was super good
Recently returned to the Clapton Hart. Unsure if under different management, or what, but the food, atmosphere and general "something" is much improved in the pub.
There are numerous pubs in local area, so very glad it's back as a recommended local.
Had their Sunday Roast recently with friends, and, it was excellent. Long may this new whatever reign 👌
