Super 😋. No words . Can't express my love 😍. It was mouth watering. Thank You 😊
Where to go when you’ve not been to Chinatown in over a decade? Randomly decided to choose this restaurant based on clientele. If the locals like it then you can’t go wrong. Ordered the roast duck soup noodle and wonton soup noodle. Both very tasty but the wonton lacked a little seasoning. Otherwise the Cheungfun dim sum and Chinese broccoli with garlic was delicious. Will return to try more dim sum next time.
Too busy eating to take anymore photos. The mixed dim sum was nice. Sweet and sour chicken, best I’ve had in china town! Service as you expect for the establishment. You can see them making the dumplings which is neat. Reasonably priced too.
We had just 2 dishes and they were out of this world - we had the dumpling platter Which had a combination of prawns and pork dumplings - very fresh, juicy and awesome 👏. Then we ordered the pork classic bao ie the soup dumpling - this was the best soup dumplings I have eaten and will be going back soon to eat them again - great food - quick service and a see through kitchen to view how the master dumpling chefs dish out the awesome food 👏👏
Was here again in 2019 - focus remains on good food and very less service - a big plus it’s open till 3 am - great fried rice and the dumplings remain just as good !! Very busy through the day and for good reason

Spent a nice enjoyable afternoon with some Aussie friends feasting like an Emperor, obe dumplibg after another, our spouses just shocked by how much we could eat.
Our reason for visiting Dumpling's legend was, besides wanting to catch up and get stuff with food the 4 off us particularly enjoy, to try the TimeOut advertised "Michelin start" dumplings the restaurant had with a very renowned Michelin star restaurant Pied à Terre. To be fair, those smoked the other dumlings on the menu, and while all are enjoyable, maybe the price doesn't fully translate into what you're getting. I know, it's very central London, and so it's natural that the prices reflect the higher cost of living (or having a business) there. But it would do them good to have just aome added more.
If you have the chance to catch them, the xiai long bao ones are the result of the partnership and are worth your undivided attention.
Me and my friend went to dumplings legends at Chinatown in London. We were pretty much excited to experience our soup dumplings. But its was absolutely disappointing. Services were bad and the waiter were kind of rude . So I would not be recommending anyone to go down their for food.
Average food, subpar service.
Situated in the heart of china town, dumpling legend is one of these restaurants that I often passed by but never tried. We finally decide to take the plunge today and well... It was ok.
The dim sum offering was average. Wasn't bad but at the same time nothing to write home about. Their namesake dumpling was their selling point but even that was pretty average as the pastry was quite thick. They do have soup in the middle which was a mark of authenticity.
Their service was unfortunately subpar and was quite pushy. They are clearly not that busy and had to take in tour groups so not sure what their rush is about.
Price is average at £18 per head. They do have a 3 for 2 offers between Monday and Thursday.
There are better offering around in immediate vicinity so won't be coming back in a hurry.
Good weather on a lovely sunny day in London adds to your appetite.
Busy bustling restaurents with lots of options for vegetarian and kids friendly .
Go surely for dim sum all kinds they are exceptionally good. Aubergines Sichuan is also worth eating.
Chinese tea on the house and don't miss some fried rice also. Service is good at par always .
Decor is good up market and that makes you more
Comfortable.
Don't cor all the way to eat here but if near China town please do so.
The restaurant has a good reputation for xiao long bao so we ordered a basket of the spicy pork xiao long bao. If there were more of us I would have been tempted to order a couple of steamers of different flavours, however, as there were just the two of us we decided to go for a bit of variety and also chose the steamed prawn dumplings.

It's not a 5 star restaurant but is on the middle of china town so... But it does have thee most amazing dumplings / dim sum I have tasted in London. It's super close to the underground and very affordable... I'll be going back
Great food!. Surprisingly good. We went with a family who had lived in China and Hong King for many years and they liked the food too. The dumplings were fabulous! The main dishes were excellent. The service was fine despite the restaurant being extremely busy.
Best Siu Long Bao in Chinatown. This place is famous for Shanghai Dumplings.. and their reputation is well justified. Recently opened, and again recently refurbished, their dish du jour - the Shanghai Dumplings, has no match anywhere in Chinatown. This place is simply the best if that is the dim sum you're craving.
The rest of the dim sum there is pretty good as well. On par with the likes of Imperial China and Lido's in Chinatown.. but nothing special.
Service is average, similar to the rest of chinatown, and the choice of dim sum is pretty wide.
Recommended for anyone with a shanghai dumpling craving.. otherwise.. Any other restaurant would do.
It's the First Day of Chinese New Year, the Year of the Rabbit! Usually, this will be a public holiday and my siblings and I will wake up, don our new clothes that are usually a festive red and off we trot to our grandmother's house. That was when I was still a kid, zoom to years later and I find myself waking up on this day to go to work. Still, I decided not to wear my usual safety attire of predominantly black and opted for a bright daffodil yellow dress to work instead. Something bright and festive I thought. I thought that it was going to be the usual 'having lunch at your desk' day for me when half an hour before lunchtime, my colleague asked me what my plans are for lunch. The next thing I know, we were walking towards Chinatown. And the next thing after was we found ourselves entering Dumplings Legend. With music blasting in the background singing 'Gong Xi Fa Cai' and numerous diners on their mobiles calling people and wishing them 'Xing Nian Kuai Le', 'Sun Tai Gin Hong' (wishi
Of all the many kinds of Chinese restaurant, the one that I'd like to see more of in London are Shanghai-style dumpling shops. Places like the renowned Din Tai Fung , where the signature dish is xiao long bao 小籠包, the famous soup-filled dumplings. Depending on their scale, these dumpling joints also serve dim sum and other dishes predominantly from the Shanghai/East China area. Xiao long bao Despite my campaign , Din Tai Fung has yet to open in the capital, so in the meantime we have to make do with places like Dumplings' Legend . A lot has already been written about this restaurant, and the reaction has been varied, much like its dinner menu. Some might think that it's a good thing that the menu offers selections from all across the Chinese-speaking world but I beg to differ. Whilst we're used to Chinese restaurants offering a varied mix of dishes, most places anchor themselves in one cuisine. At Dumplings' Legend, the offerings include Cantonese, Shanghainese, Sichuan, Taiwanes
Boy do I like dumplings and I mean really like. Growing up, that's all I ate to the point that my mother feared I'd turned into one; not that I'd mind though I would become my own worst enemy with the constant risk of eating myself being petty real. But seriously how could you not love a meal that requires such little effort to eat and is so delicious? Each delicately wrapped portion is a parcel of happiness with a variety of fillings which satisfy any diet. But the one that reigns above all is the Xiao Long Bao.
Originating in the Shanghai and Wuxi provinces of China, Xiao Long Bao is technically a type of steamed bun (bao) which is traditionally prepared in a small bamboo steaming basket (xiaolong) from which they gain their name. Although Xiao Long Bao are traditionally filled with pork, this has now expanded to include seemingly everything but the famous soupy interior remains a constant feature. Just thinking about them make me famished and my go-to place to get my fix is the aptly named Dumplings Legend.
Situated right in the heart of Chinatown, I have grown very fond of Dumplings Legend mostly for the fact that they prepare Xiao Long Bao to order right in front of you in their dedicated kitchen. Here you can stand and be mesmerised by they skill in show and maybe even pick up a few tricks. However my focus is more on the eating part as my vegetarian Xiao Long Bao and spicy pork Xiao Long Bao arrives; both delicious, steaming hot, fresh and soupy as hell. Heaven in a mouthful.
However, from here, everything drops down a notch and the euphoria created by the xiao long bao gives why to a more standard Chinese meal. The garlic pak choi was solid though nothing special and the same can be said for the spicy pork belly and vegetables and the stir-fried vermicelli & ho fan with seafood and egg. It was palatable but just not mind blowing. The salt and pepper aubergine though proved to be a step above the rest and a dish I'd order again.
Overall though, a solid meal at a not overly expensive price. The Xiao Long Bao themselves are worth making the visit for.

As the name suggests, Dumpling Legend serve up some legendary dumplings! The rest of their food is nice and tasty but their delicious gravy-filled dumplings certainly do stand out. I haven't yet been for Dim Sum, but I have heard that it's even better!
The decor is very bright and the atmosphere is good. From what I've experienced, the service is so much friendlier than other restaurants in Chinatown, which adds to the dining experience nicely.
Overall, it's good value for money and the place to go if you're a fan of dumplings!
The service here is atrocious. Without a doubt the worst service I have experienced since moving to London. However, the dim sum is possibly the best I have had outside of China.
Upon entering the restaurant the first thing you notice is a dim sum station open for viewing to customers, showing exactly what it is this place is good at. The menu is pretty elaborate and upon sitting down you are quickly attended to once you have placed your order the food comes quickly. However, I have come here twice and both times felt rushed during my meal, with attendants taking away baskets with dumplings still in them which I then had to call after her to return. They are very slow to fill tap water requests and the first time they simply didn't bring my friend a glass, despite her asking for it twice.
However, the food is delicious, the freshness of the dumplings and their fillings really brings out the exquisite flavours of the food to such an extent that it almost makes up for the appallingly bad service. I recommend this restaurant to all Dim Sum lovers, just don't expect a relaxing dining experience!
The Dim Sum in Dumplings' Legend is of high standards for a Chinese restaurant in Europe. The famous pork soup dumplings (£6 for 8 dumplings) were good, but could have been served hotter, like most of the dishes I had. The Pork buns (3 for £2.50) and crystal prawn dumplings (8 for £6) were good. What I think was Fried Vermicelli Noodles & Hofen with mixed seafood and scrambled eggs had a few hard, uncooked bits, and the sauce was over-gooey – that dish did not impress me. Otherwise, Dumplings' Legend is a great place to go for acceptable-quality dim sum with a wide variety of dishes.
Had another really good lunch at Dumplings Legend. We know Chinese/HK food well and ordered some of our favourites. Everything was spot on. Service was very attentive too. Photos of some of our dishes attached. We’ll be back again soon!
They have a very extensive menu with choices of most of the Chinese dishes people normally crave for. This time round we ordered the most popular original steamed Shanghai pork dumplings, seasonal vegetables, and cold druken chicken. They were all very tasty and of high standard. All of the staff were very friendly and efficient. Special compliment goes to Ms Yen and Mr Derek and also special thanks to the boss Desmond who was extremely kind and welcoming. We will sure go back anytime we are in London.
The waiters were extremely friendly and the food arrived quickly. So so many options to choose from - we almost couldn’t decide!
A must try are the soup dumplings and the cucumber in chili oil! Everything was so flavorful and delicious. Even though the food is a bit pricey, it’s definitely worth a try!
A large range of dishes and Dim Sum, that were really tasty. Recommend the roast meats and rice - very nice! Good value for money.
We didn't have to book and could just walk in (tables 10+ need bookings). We came here for dinner before a Comedy show as we were around the corner from Chinatown, I had a hankering for Dim Sum and I liked the name!
We were seated immediately and service was quick. The portions were huge and so filling so were well worth the money.
Food arrived promptly and was really tasty.
The only downside I would say is it isn't wheelchair friendly, there were steps up at the entrance and the toilets are up stairs.
The dumplings that I had were delicious. Try the spicy pork. Also a delicious cucumber in chili oil. Sit outside if you can to enjoy the street bustle of Chinatown. Though it's mostly tourists.
Good simple Chinese food in the heart of china town. Perfect place to go with friends or family. A lot of good options for vegetarians. Cheng fung was delicious. The dim sums were really tasty too. Highly recommended this place for a casual meal.
The place is great, the staff is friendly, the food is very very good and you can see how they prepare the dumplings, so it’s also entertaining.
We had the beef soup, rice and soup dumplings spicy everything was amazing, the chili sauce was divine.
They have a very comprehensive allergen menu and good soy free options. Will definetly come back.
we had such a delicious meal here - the dumplings are fresh, yummy, affordable and authentic, highly recommend!! Will be coming back again 100%
Tried this place as it blew up on tiktok etc... its really nice, alot of the foods were really spicy, like spicy spicy, so if you cant handle spice then dont think this is the one for you, we got the duck pancakes for a starter, that was FABULOUSSS definitely coming back again for that!! Everything else was nice, so definitely worth a visit, esp if you like your spicy foods,l. Have I mentioned it's spicy?
Loved the food here, delicious and generous. Also, it's so clean and efficient. The staff were super nice.
We really liked the food that was tasty, good quality and reasonable priced. However the included 12% tip was a bit too much since the service was minimal. I don’t mind giving tips but here the waiters don’t really care, they haven’t spoken to us the whole time and there was barely any service from them. If the tip was for the whole team working (people in the kithcen and outside, it would make more sense.. but 12%tip for waiters that put zero effort and are very ignorant is way too much.
Amazing experience! The portions are quite big as well! Great for sharing. Their jasmine tea is also delicious!

Place looks very poor and the tables are not too stable, but the food was divine! Very nice food and would definitely go again!
We popped on for early dinner between Harry Potter shows. Service was okay but the food was really good. For a dumpling place I felt as if they were dry, yet our beef with bean paste was excellent!
