For me the Haggerston Pub is a place of magick, where musicians meet and play. The Jazz, started by Beverly, the previous owner continues every Sunday. Some are even calling it Church! A place to meet if you can be yourself. I have had so many conversations in the yard; and also been transported by exciting riffs and grouves --- Joseph

Great for high quality late night jazz. Affordable drinks, chilled atmosphere and a band that can really play.

I'd go here if you want to listen to some awesome music on Saturday's, usually at the end of the month for Okoro Nights. The guys that push this event are just amazing - The vibe they create is nothing short of incredible and the love that's generated there is easy to see! So many smiling faces and body's dancing to the beats. An excellent experience, perfectly curated. Keep up the good work chaps! Oh and the beer isn't bad either

After a spontaneous night out a good friend invited me to join him at The Haggerston to see his friend Mike T DJ and when we arrived I realised that I'd been before but many moons ago like 20 years! I used to spend a lot of time there in the 90's listening to Jazz so to come back and continue to hear quality Jazz in a warm and friendly atmosphere was a real treat. Mike T also played a blinding set of funk soul and Broken beat and we danced. Great night I'll be back

After our meal at the Dead Dolls Club (quite a while ago now), it was time for what everyone does on a Saturday night - drinking. And the Haggerston, a pub I had yet to get to, was just a few doors down.

It was pretty busy when we rolled in at around 9:30. Standing room only which meant the place had pretty good vibes. There was a selection of various foreign beers that I wasn't at all interested in but I'm pleased to report that the house white wine was very pleasant. This place is 'cool' which meant that of course they couldn't serve their wine in a wine glass but a tumbler instead. Now, I'm used to this because I do tend to go to places that eschew boring old normal glassware but I must admit I do like my wine in a wine glass. If for no other reason than it makes you appreciate that it's wine you are drinking. When it's served in a tumbler it is all too easy to drink it like you would some juice and be done with it before you've even realised it. Of course, this is probably half the idea.

Anyway, the crowd were pretty young and the music was up. It wasn't too loud to talk - chatting amongst a foursome was doable without having to shout.

And then after about an hour we managed to nab a booth on the side, which was even better as we weren't out for the long haul and wouldn't be dancing any time soon although some of the people in there might have been swaying about a bit with half an intention of turning that swaying into fully fledged dance moves with another couple of drinks.

We stayed for a few hours in the end but I'd have happily stayed until it shut and would return - I can see an evening of ribs from Duke's and drinks here in my future...

The pizza at the Haggerstone is pretty good: they have at least one vegan option on and a couple of white pizzas (if you've read my review of Franca Manca, then you'll know how I feel about white pizza). But what I really like about this place is the lighting. If you go in the evening, you'll find it almost so dark you can't see and just lit with candles. It makes for a wonderfully intimate and romantic setting - well, as romantic as a pub in Dalston can be.

Really like The Haggerston. Staff are very nice and attentive. Good selection at the bar. Outdoor seating in front (benches) and some more sheltered in back. Music is always on point and occasionally they have someone dj'ing live. Will come back some time.

My forever place! I've been coming here for over a decade now. In my 20s for a cheeky night out. Now in my 30s a nice afternoon/evening vibe with a drink. They do 2 Negronis for 14 pounds until 8pm, so for me it's a winner! Cool people. Cool place.

Enjoyed a fun Thursday night here. Lively crowd. Good eclectic music - hip hop, reggae, bangra, soca, afro beats. Bouncer gave us no issue - group of 7 (2 women, 5 men).

I didn't try the food! The service was brilliant, thr girls are really helpful and unpretentious which I think for London is an accomplishment! It's 4 stars bc I didn't try the food, the drinks were great but on the pricey side

Great cozy pub with a lovely atmosphere. Interesting pizza selection, quite tasty but perhaps a bit overboard with oil on the toppings. Decent selection of beers, would highly recommend.

Good place for chilled drinks on a Saturday night and to have some fun dance-y evening with friends. However the security at the door is not the best - I would sau quite rude. And they create all this unnecessary que for no reason.
