Helu located in Kingsland Road is a great chilled out spot for ice cream and chicken wings. The interior is simple but functional offering seating for 20 to 25 on wooden tables and stools. The menu focuses on three offerings - Asian style wings, ice cream and coffee. Helu also offers Asaki beer to tap and a variety of non alcoholic drinks. The owner Oliver is as chilled out and friendly as the atmosphere. The Matcha ice cream (which is made at the premise) and iced Vietnamese coffee are tasty and should not be missed. The chicken wings are Asian style and something special - crunchy, tender and moist. They come in 5 or 10 with a choice of five flavours including soy garlic.

Helu cafe was great. I stopped here after having dinner next door and it was amazing. I ordered the cookies+cream sundae with half matcha/half vanilla mix. The sundae was delicious and pretty. The owner was very friendly and overall I enjoyed my experience. I would recommend this place to family and friends for sure.

We ordered fried chicken take away to try, and wow super impressed! Super crispy korean-style fried chicken and batter wasn't thick. Got the plain one and garlic butter, which was SOOO GOOD! Not expensive, will be back soon!

Good quality ice cream, even if there is only a small variety. Waffle isn't bad either. Fun wall with great art kept as we entertained 😊

great matcha soft serve ice cream (the waffle cone was also very good and crunchy, not the chewy ones you often get with flurries)

This get 5 stars because of the ice-cream. Chicken wings and beer seldom deserves more than 3/4. But the ice-cream push this place into orbit. They serve a single scoop of three falvours, each ball is wrapped in a strange gooey skin. Like dim.sum, just sweet and cold. Amazing taste. Highly recommended.

Live in the area and just noticed this new place. The best fried chicken I’ve had in a long time, especially the Korean sweet and spicy one. The service was really friendly and the guy there was rocking it by himself, everything was made fresh on the spot! Will definitely be back to try the sundaes!

Best Wings Ever! Me and my friend have been her a few times now and it has never disappointed, the man who served us on all occasions is super friendly and makes fresh wings every time. We were even provided free beers on our last visit as he felt we had been waiting a bit during the busy rush, we’ll worth the wait on the wings. Would highly recommended to any chicken fan!

Delicious! What a fab little find. The wings are sooo tasty, as the fries. Matcha ice cream 10/10. Also opening hours on google are wrong so worth checking with Helu in case they’re open.

Had 3 flavour ice cream mochi here, so good, also the lychee matcha iced tea. They're super friendly, and have an art corner with markers & Post-It's where you can add your doodles to the walls. Simple, authentic, affordable and unpretentious 😀
