One of my favourite place, you can enjoy the weather outside, they have a nice terrace. Next to the river and nice views. Amazing place and good service. 😊 Is amazing for someone who wants to relax. I recommend the place
What an absolutely fantastic afternoon. Loved every minute spent in The Old Ship. A beautiful day, a beautiful view and without doubt the best food and the best service. Thank you to Imogen, Matthew and her team. Excellent 😊🍷🍾🍸
Beautiful pub overlooking the river, friendly staff & amazing food! Perfect pit stop with friends on a sunny afternoon
What a great place to stop and take in the views. Some of the best bar staff I have encountered. Will be going here again on my next visit.

In a mood for a walk by the river on a Sunday morning? With apetite for lunch? A proper and typical roast would be nice? Go for it! You will find proper food merged with a relaxing view that will bring up to anothet level your Sunday lunch and help you to relax and enjoy the rest of the day.
Ah, an evening of complete randomness.
I decided to walk for 35 minutes to The Old Ship at night.
That decision was made too lightly, and I remember thinking this exact thing when I walked through a forest, alone, at night, by a river. Then I remembered it wasn't a murder mystery and trudged on ahead.
I was the first to arrive (as usual), and it was only me, a table of 8 and a couple who looked like they were breaking up.
Once my friends decided to turn up, we were approached by a charming lad and invited to partake in the pub quiz! Now we hadn't eaten yet, and we didn't want to leave the dining area, so they brought the pub quiz to us. How hospitable!
Half way through the quiz we received our meal. I ordered a vegetarian Sunday roast. The actual veggie wellington was a bit too salty for my taste. But everything else was absolutely delish. Especially those stunning roasted potatoes.
The staff were lovely, the food was lovely, I had a great Sunday evening and would recommend you go as a family or group of friends.
This is definitely our favourite pub in the "hot(ish)" weather.
Nice and simple menu, I usually go for the #beefburger with #fries together with a nice #desperados.
Only one note, it is too expensive.... Other than that, great outdoor space and nice view of the river, perfect for a Saturday with friends
Excelent location. Very nice venue and good food. I had the pork belly and it was to die for. The mashed potatoes were fine but not at the same level than the pork. Very relaxed staff and crowd.
What a lovely pub!
From the outside The Old Ship looks unassuming, with its main recommending feature being its great spot on the river. We were attracted by the outside terrace, which provided a lovely view of the Thames lit by the low afternoon light.
The wind was biting, though, so we headed in to the warm and welcoming main room of the pub. It is a really nice space: large enough to feel spacious, but made cosy by choice and orientation of furniture and decor - a tasteful jumble of shapes and styles. In short, The Old Ship is comfortable, in just the way you want from a pub.
At the moment (early December), they have some really quirky and endearing Christmas decorations up. These aren't the tacky, shiny plastic kind, but rather made from bits of wood and dried fruit. Combined with some truly awful Christmas puns, they're a great contribution to the pub's charm.
We visited for lunch, and enjoyed our meal. The menu is definitely going for "gastropub", which usually makes me nervous (I find gastropub fare overwrought and unsatisfying), but the Old Ship delivered on it well: the food was filling and tasty, interesting but not unnecessarily fussy.
My gastropub prejudice led me to order a a burger, which was deliciously juicy, with some excellent chips. It was good enough that I regretted not being more adventurous. Next time.
My partner had the truffle mac and cheese, which was rich and pungent, but not overpowering.
We live in the area, and so we're delighted to find The Old Ship. We will certainly visit again.
I have been in the Old Ship around 3 weeks ago , I have meet a couple of friend who are living in Richmond so we found a place in the middle of our way home .
And I was kindly surprise to find this lovely pub with an stunning view on the river , we decide to eat there I took an huge fish and chips really crispy with not to much oil , some of my friends took an hamburger that apparently was big and tasty , the only think that I have to highlighting is that we didn't know that in Sunday they were doing quiz so for us was a bit noisy because we were talking about some business but was fine and we enjoyed a lot .
I think that for a summer Pimm's or beer is the perfect place where chill , and the area around is peaceful and really great even for a long walk or run.
Great spot along the river. We went for the boat races and grabbed a drink to take outside and enjoy the view. Highly recommend and I bring all my friends her for a more relaxed evening/afternoon out. Haven’t tried the food yet but others around us were enjoying a late lunch. Overall,
It’s a great spot.
We’ve been going to The Old Ship for years and I remember my first visit to have their Sunday Roast. We love the food, and the atmosphere and doesn't matter what time of year, having Sunday Roast with the view of The Thames will always feel special. We have to our friends and family, especially those that visit London about it and always bring them there.
Unfortunately this time around we’re a bit disappointed by the overcooked beef roast. It was very busy, so we hesitated to send it back. We still finished it, but we noticed that the beef wasn't as good as it was. Hopefully, on our next visit, the roast will be as good as we remember it.
Always a lovely pub, with great riverside views, and a spacious interior. Good range of beers and while I didn't try any food on this occasion, it looked tempting with generous portions. There is also an excellent app that will allow you to order to your table. Had a great Sunday, and will return.
It’s the nicest pub in that side of the river by Hammersmith.
Food it’s nice although it became very expensive. 18£ for a fish and chips.
We’ve been in a summer hot Saturday and it was surprisingly emptier than years before (maybe the prices are too high and also Brexit times hit them hard).
Really lovely pub, great location if you can get on the balcony with a view of the river. A little pricey, we only had chips which were well done
I had booked two separate tables and I was informed in advance that they were going to be allocated in 2x separate rooms as they wouldn’t allow for a booking of more than 8 people on a table, but when we arrived I was pleasantly surprised to see that in the end the staff accommodated my booking to sit us all together by the captain’s table area. Turns out that it was a beautiful sunny day so we asked if we could sit outside on the benches instead and they allowed us to without any issues. Additionally we were able to order our food and drinks through the Young’s On Tap app and the service was super quick all the time. We had a great time. Thanks for a wonderful Sunday team Old Ship!
What better way to spend the day! We managed to get a table right along the front and spent the next 4 or so hours having a leisurely lunch and drinks. Food was wonderful - the cauliflower tempura was a real delight and the roast dinner (we had chicken and beef) delicious. If I was being picky I would have liked the pigs in blankets that the menu said came with the roast chicken. A great spot to people watch, chat and relax.
Great pub on the river. So relaxing and comfortable you want to move in! Great beers on hand pump with lagers, wines and all the spirits. Food is well prepared and served by friendly staff. A very enjoyable experience. Top Drawer.
Such a lovely little hidden gem and a classic English pub, I went there on the hottest day of the year, it was peaceful, not overly busy and the air con was such a treat. Friendly staff, excellent food and a long list of drinks.
The location sits by the Thames and if you want something a little less busy, then this place is perfect for that.
You also have a choice of sitting inside and outside.
If you're coming by tube, get the district line to Ravenscourt Park. It's a short walk, and make sure you access under the subway from the main road from walking down.
I would recommend both the fish and chips + the burger as seen in the pictures, tasty and super fresh too.
Solid A*****

Lovely pub on the bank of the River Thames, good selection of Ales, chips were very nice. Staff friendly and helpful.
Lovely evening table of 6, very pleasant staff, food, drinks and location. I had the Caesar Salad with chicken which was very good. Wine was perfectly chilled. Good range of beers. Had table in the window with good view of the river.
Toilets were a bit scruffy, that was the only downside.
We booked on Wednesday for 1230 Saturday. Arrived, and all was good. We were given a great table by the window overlooking the river and the very helpful Mel opened the big windows for us. Great!
The food was tasty (great batter on the haddock), the beer was tasty and the service from Mel was excellent and friendly without being over the top. Will go again for sure.
Had a delicious Sunday roast and our waitresses Mel was very attentive.
Fantastic lunch in a superb riverside location just a stone's throw away from Hammersmith Bridge. We sat outside which was lovely, fast service at the bar despite it being busy. Had a few allergy sufferers in the group, however manager Rob was super helpful, clear communication on which dishes contained what, made ordering easy and he serves a cracking Guinness! Look forward to coming again soon!
