Al Qalaa is a Lebanese restaurant moments from Mornington Crescent tube station on the busy Camden High Street. Despite it's exterior aesthetics, it boasts a wonderful interior/exterior dining area that manages to evade the smoking ban and jump through all the bureaucratic loop holes to provide a dining room that is well ventilated and permits the popular middle eastern tradition of Shisha smoking.

I arrived at the restaurant at 6pm on Saturday, desperate to find a location for a large dining event I had planned for the evening (following several plan changes). The manager was first on the scene and he offered to take complete care of the evening (set menus, drinks, shisha) for a fixed price (which made splitting the bill much easier).

We had falafel, hummus, pita, salads and more for our starter. This filled the table and everyone was astounded at not only the restaurants generosity but further the quality of the food on display. Bearing in mind many of the diners that joined myself often indulge in some of the finest Lebanese restaurants London has to offer, it was a big shock when the food was so tasty. Our main courses were primarily meat based and the trend of good food continued.

The Shisha is an important aspect of any Lebanese restaurant and despite previously writing off Camden as an area for shisha we were shocked to eventual find somewhere that does reasonable shisha with proper coals and nice flavours. They also do fruit topped shisha at a fair £17 price tag.

The service was great, all the staff were friendly and helpful and I will definitely returned.

Total was £35 a head, this included all sorts and the meal went on for approximately 4 hours.

Pleasant atmosphere and food. We arrived a bit late for iftar and most of the dishes were finished and the majority were not refilled. The food did lack variety. We were served dates, juice and tea at the table. There were no desserts (like the fruits in the photos) except baklava. The interior design is impressive.

Exceptionally Beautiful Restaurant. Amazing Decoration, feels as if I am eating in a palace. Fairly priced. Good Food, more variety needed. Great Service, the waiter was very helpful and professional. I will definitely be visiting again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice atmosphere and ambience, very spacious. Decor is lovely. Would recommend the food if you're looking for Middle Eastern food as there's quite a variety. It tasted good, though ours was unfortunately a little cold. As a new business they're doing extremely well and really make you feel welcome. The waiters were friendly, too. I believe one if their names is Muraad but unfortunately don't know the others. All the best to this up and coming business.

Very spacious and relaxed environment. Food is great. Started with 2 pieces of chicken fillet, a piece of minced kebab as well as spinach and rice. These 3 dishes tasted so great. Parking is free up to 3 hours at Asda cross the road. If you intend to stay longer, plenty of free parking around after 5:00pm. Highly recommended for singles and families. £22.00 for great variety dishes plus small charge for drinks is great value and highly recommended.

One of the best if not the best Lebanese restaurants i visited London. Great hospitality, with a lot of food to eat from the open buffet. Food quality is very good, place suitable for children as no smoking but need baby chairs to be available.

Middle Eastern buffet restaurant Buffet food so take your plate and start eating Has Arabic people inside so you can chat Arabic if you know the language The place is very nice and the good is ok You need to reserve your table before you go Drinks and beverages not part of the buffet so you need to order that. I visited with my family and we enjoyed it, It was fun for the kids for sure 4 stars because the place just started so everything is just brand new Need more food The shawarma was turned off during our stay so we were told this will be fixed next time as they are still starting out. Which is fear enought I think the place need more desert selections as they were very little. Maybe chocolate fountain and ice cream Also I really would've enjoyed if the tea was free too. The staff is very friendly. Enjoyed to talking to each and everyone Parking for Cars is available in the local supermarket nearby.

Very rich and spacious! Amazing open buffet with fresh food and fruits for £22 per adult and £11 for child. however the dessert is limited because there is only one option and will be boring. The drinks and any extras are charchable £££. Overall a pricy but fun restaurant for families. Worth it and recommended
