Great lunch spot. Extensive selection of healthy lunch options including salad, soups and smoothies. The salad bar is the selling point. A huge array of ingredients and delicious dressings. There are house salads to choose from or you can mix and match your own with all your favourite ingredients. Generous portions but around £6/£7 for a salad (which can be pricey every lunchtime!)

Service is quick but it can daunting the first time if you're not sure what you want on the salad. The server shouts you over and you have to be ready or face the queue of angry city workers waiting!!

I'd recommend a mix and match salad with the chilli and ginger dressing. It's delicious!

Vital Ingredient is a good local make-your-own salad option for lunch. They have a variety of bases and ingredients to make a unique salad to your tastes.

It's popular with the Chancery Lane and Fleet Street business crowds, though the wait is never too long during lunch hours. For what you're getting, the prices are fairly steep especially compared to other lunch options in the area but nowhere really offers the salad variety found here. If you're not looking for a salad they do have wraps and baked potatoes and various other options.

Visited the Vital Ingredients shop near Temple Church today for the first time today with my Grammy and it certainly won’t be the last time. We were attracted to the shop by the look and gorgeous smell from across the road. We were greeted and served by a lovely lady called Rochelle. She helped us order and explained the ordering process all whilst very happy and bubbly. It was a pleasure to be served by her. It’s refreshing to be served with great customer service even at lunch time. Quote from Grammy “Best Chicken soup ever” and my hot food Katsu Chicken rice box was beautiful. We will definitely be returning and highly recommended!
