I remember when I first discovered Kothu Kothu. Myself and my fiancé at the time were planning our wedding day. We wanted something different, something people may have not had before, but will blown their minds.
I find an event happening on twitter called Alchemy, which was a street food festival showcasing the best of Asian Street food. Our plan was to find the best of the best. We bought 4 or 5 different meals from different vendors and took them home to try out with our family when we arrived. Kothu Kothu came out top on all accounts with their vege Kothu.
Long story short we had the pleasure of having them be our main caterers at our wedding day and they were the real stars of the show.. Everyone from any culture, background and age were raving about their food. The compliments were off the chart, seriously!
You guys outdid yourselves on a professional and personal level and I can't thank you enough.
We will be back for more, there's no doubt about that.

This place is so good! We opted for the mutton (+ the starters) and it was amazing - packed full of flavour with a nice kick!
I'll defo go back :)
Very tasty food! Enjoyed every last mouthful! Would highly recommend!
So I went to this place after gym for some quick food. Defiantly coming back.
Such yummy food, the mix of flavours was lovely. Would definitely recommend.
Absolutely amazing food!!!! Well worth visiting.
Thoroughly enjoyed my meal each time that I've been here - I personally go for the chicken, but I'm sure that it is all good!
better Kothu than some other Sri Lankan restaurant.
Absolutely delicious and so reasonably priced!
Thank you for great food at our annual event yesterday !
Kothu kothu is a stall never to be missed !!!!!
Loved the mutton kothu..the masla is perfectly mixed with a good amount of well marinated muttton pieces. Ofcourse its worth mentioning the portion is too good for an adult. I will rexommend and am sure anyone will love it.
At the Eid Milan event last Sunday organized by Dishoom, I finally get to try out this Sri Lankan stall called Kothu Kothu. In a nutshell, Kothu Kothu means chop chop and they serve this signature street food dish called Kothu Roti (translated as Chopped Roti in Tamil). It is said to be the most popular street food in Colombo, Sri Lanka and is not only famous for its taste but also for its unique and theatrical preparation. That being said, the stall of course showcases the cooking process at the front of the stall. There’s a heated iron griddle where the ingredients (roti, vegetables, eggs and/or meat) are being cut and mixed using two metal blades. It is said that since distinctive sounds are created through the quick and repeated striking of metal blades on the hot metal griddle, the whole action is thus often done to the beat of music to add an even more theatrical element to it.

Very tasty food. The medhu vada was too oily but the rest of the things we tried were very good. The service is fantastic by the two waiters that were there on a busy Saturday night (yesterday). The lamprais that our friend tried was spectacular and a huge portion as well. The portion sizes are decent.
My wife found the food to be a bit too spicy but we could always ask them to adjust spice levels.
All in all a very good restaurant. The service I must say is the one that got them the 5th star from us. 😊
At Kothu Sri Lankan Restaurant and Bar, an evening of culinary enchantment awaited us. My wife and I, alongside our friends, were greeted with exceptional hospitality, each member of the staff exuding warmth and professionalism. The fish curries, a medley of fresh, succulent seafood bathed in meticulously crafted sauces, were a testament to the island's rich maritime bounty. Mutton curries, tender and infused with aromatic spices, painted a canvas of flavors, each bite a journey through Sri Lanka’s culinary landscape. The lamb samosas, a crispy embrace of succulent, spiced lamb, were nothing short of a masterpiece. Kothu isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience, a journey through the soul of Sri Lankan cuisine.
Must Try Cheesey Kothu! If you’re looking for a tasty Sri Lankan Restaurant, definitely visit Kothu! Great vibes, great food, great price. They do a variety of appamms, dosai, Kothu, biriyani.. lots to choose from. We asked for spicey food and it was actually spicey for once! Definitely one of my top 3 for Sri Lankan restaurants now. Plenty of seating inside even though it looks small from the outside. I will be coming back.
We visited here on 23/12/21. Wow what can I say! Fantastic food, wonderful favours. The menu could do with some pictures as we didn't know what a lot of the dishes were and descriptions of the dishes on the menu too. We had to keep asking the waiter! Service was excellent and friendly. We will hopefully be returning this Tuesday evening. Great value too!
Some of the best Kothu in Tooting. Definitely worth adding the cheese for £1. Will be back soon. Thanks guys!
A friend and I went for a meal here just after Christmas. The aromas that hit you when you walk through the door are amazing! The menu is simple and the prices are reasonable. The flavours are fantastic!
We were served by a knowledgeable staff member who made great recommendations and they went out of their way to customise a dish for my friend to take home. Excellent service and a wonderful all round experience.
So, so good. The food is incredible and the service is attentive. Very good prices and very good value for money. Highly recommended.
Amazing customer service, food was presented really well. Food was really tasty and good spice level as well. Staff were all really friendly, really hygienic. Would highly recommend this restaurant
Food was absolutely lovely. Super tasty. Special shout out and thanks to Deepak. Absolute amazing server and super lovely, he’s a star and a keeper. His customer service skills were wonderful will definitely be back.
Hidden gem , Flavors are amazing and if you like spicy this is the place for you. Baby Squid Fry, Prawn Puri, chicken curry, Egg Roti were outstanding! This being my first review ever, come here and enjoy flavor town! Lion Lager is the beer of choice. Enjoy
As someone who has tried the same “Mutton Kothu Roti” dish from many places, this restaurant is literally the only place I order this dish from (even though it’s more expensive than other places) because this has the right amount of each ingredient and always tastes fresh.
Best devil potatoes in a long while. Great food and price. The visit here following a long day that included spending time at St. George’s A&E saved the day.
The best curry in Tooting! we love coming to this restaurant for our weekly curry dinner. Food is really tasty and varied, service is attentive and price is the most affordable. I totally recommend to come to Kothu to enjoy a magnificent curry dinner!
Love this restaurant, the Kothu is so amazing. If you don't like spice then ask for no spice (as this Kothu is HOT!)
The Mango lassi is always my favourite at this place! A local gem!
Had a very ambient experience. Owner was very good and nice. Very reasonable prices, and absolutely delicious Sri Lankan food. Felt a lot like home. I've visited twice now, and absolutely loved everything about the restaurent. All in all, a marvelous place to drop in for a family or singly and enjoy good food. We ordered so much food in both occassions, but before pictures all food was eaten 😂 Will definitely visit again. Thank you 😁
