Brilliant! Food was heavenly and the service quick considering how busy they were
Great food-service speedy even whist it was over busy lunch period
I've been getting my lunches here on most days since starting a job near St Paul's. Try to arrive between 11:30 and 12:00 if you don't want to queue.
I've eaten my way through the Bun Cha menu, and recommend the pork belly, grilled chicken, baked sea bass. It is an efficient operation where you get takeout lunch pretty quickly. Portions are not huge so if you are hungry at lunchtime get an extra spring roll or a few fried chicken wings for an extra £2.
Menu is limited so maybe not great in the evenings compared to the Vietnamese restaurants on Kingsland Road. Have yet to try the pho or banh mi sandwiches.
I really like this place which gets crowded with the lunch crowd. The pho soup base is good (although I don't particularly like the hard noodles used - prefer the soft ones which is authentic) but their bun Bo hue and banh mi are really good especially the special banh mi! Also the summer rolled ESP the prawn one is particularly good!
For those that work in the city to get something to eat that is the combination of not too filling that your sleeping at your desk come 3 o'clock, that's healthy to fit in with everyone around and let's face it tasty so it's not like your having a tesco salad for lunch.......
It's a hard combination to adhere too let alone accomplish.....here enters Banh Mi Ba.
Inside it's very much like the hustle and bustle you will find outside with the difference of friendly staff whizzing around.
This Vietnammese establishment offers a different slant on to the lunch menu with spring rolls for starters which are very different in comparison to Chinese and Thai spring rolls they taste fresher and are served cold which I must admit to my distaste however on taking my first bite into the Bi Cuon which is caramel pork summer rolls which is shredded pork, vermicelli, lettuce and herbs.....proved me wrong as it was just as fulfilling as any spring roll I've had although my personal preference is still that of hot served Spring rolls.
After I had the Bay special which comprised of chargrilled pork, shredded caramel pork, steamed crab and pork meatloaf....the chargrilled pork was amazing and I wish they served more of it as the rest of the dish left me unfulfilled as that amazing chargrilled pork stole the show.
So if you are looking for a fresh, healthy and tasty alternative and not to filling of a lunch then check out Bahn Mi Ba.

The beef was perfectly rare when the pho arrived at my table and the beansprouts were nice and crunchy. Great little place in a beautiful area.
This is the place to go to for excellent Vietnamese food. From the moment you interact to place your order to the last mouthful of your requested meal, you will only experience excellence. Excellence in customer care, excellent production and provision of your meal in minimal time with food being excellent in taste, portion, presentation and delivery.
The people who serve are gems of care, straightforward communication and efficient.
The food is so fresh and tasty, made in front of you and packaged with care.
It has its own charm which emanates from the people and their effort to ensure you are happy and served well. You also know you are going to have a great meal. The restaurant customers’ meals are a further assurance of this fact.
You will want to return as often as possible.
Thank you all for such a delicious, tasty, enjoyable and memorable take out lunch!
Brilliant lunchtime takeaway from Banh Mi Bay. I usually visit this restaurant for takeaway when I'm at work and can't believe I didn't review this previously. The lunch hour is very busy, so expect to queue for at least 5-10 mins if you're not at the door by 12. Getting a table on walk-ins is also difficult, so book in advance. The food is amazing and at a good price point so no complaints about that. The service gets delayed due to the rush but that's ok as the food is worth waiting for. Highly recommending the grilled pork with rice with extra meat and the range of Banh Mi's.
Place is packed to the brim and spilling onto the streets! Got the crispy pork belly noodles and it was delicious, would return for the other offerings.
Downsides were that the nuoc cham sauce was on the sweet side, I would have preferred a few more squirts of fish sauce just for that additional dimension of flavor.
A really nice Vietnamese place. They have a couple of outlets around central and west london. Really good food. The tofu bahn mi is my go to dish. They have a bunch of noodles, salad, and pho options. During lunch hours, be sure to come in early, as they have long queues.
Hard to get attention of waiters during lunch hours but once orders have been taken the food comes almost right away! The prices for sit-downs are higher than the take-away prices but not sure if the take-away portions are as big. Quite happy with the pork summer roll and the lemongrass beef bun noodle salad - no frills and simply!
You can expect the dining experience to be more cafeteria like, weekdays around lunch hour or so incredibly busy with bank workers ordering for take away. The constant line at the door is a testament to the quality of food. Take away prices hover around £7-8 whereas eating in will cost you around £12-14. The staff work exceptionally hard and always serve people in proper order. I’m glad that the table service remains being served in actual dishes! There are so many places that offer table service but serve in disposable paperware so I’m happy to pay a little extra for the service and dishes at this place.
Really good. Perfect for weather and i was feeling sick. Everything we ordered was good. Busy lunch time but we didnt wait too long. Cheaper if u take it out, they have different prices and dont accept american express and now open wed-fri 530-930. One of the best pho i had.
The beef soup stock was delicious, although the beef brisket was not the best I had in London, it was still good. Mixed beef pho was a better choice. Grilled garlic pork was very nice.
Popular place close to St Paul’s. The place was nearly fully booked when we came but able to be squeezed in, which was great.
There is a fine in and take away option.
The banh mi was very good, I prefer the bread a bit crustier but still tasty. The wings were excellent.
Really nice rare beef pho. The broth is delicious. Also had the summer rolls, with a nice big prawn in each serving. Really happy with my meal and service. Will definitely be returning when I'm in the area again.

Have walked pass this place 100x but never walked in until recently... and oh my God!!!! The Grilled Garlic Pork lunch box
🤤😍🤤😍🤤😍🤤😍🤤😍🤤
15/10 prob the best work lunch Iv ever had
Ordered the pork bun (noodle box with garlic pork) and shrimp&pork spring rolls. Great fresh taste!! The noodle box portions weren’t huge tbh. There are 3 rolls in one portion of spring rolls. Very good value for price and fast service.
Always really busy during workday lunch times but it’s worth it. Great ban mi selection, but I usually get their house special. They also have lots of options for rice boxes if you’re not keen on a sandwich.
Went at 1pm, weekday. Super packed with people. Got a table really quickly with fast service and yummy food!
Excellent Vietnamese restaurant at reasonable prices. The waiters are friendly and the restaurant is very lively. I often take away for lunch.
My favourite dish is the pho. The soup is very tasty and rich, whereas many restaurants have a bland soup.
