Very fresh and delicious fish 'n' chips. You can have cod, haddock or pollock (all from sustainable sources) with different vinegar varieties, and sauce which they apparently make themselves. Mushy peas and things are also on the menu, and it's licensed so you can grab a beer or bottle of wine if you wish. Unpretentious, proper fish 'n' chips, of high quality - excellent.

Loved it! Fantastic service and great food here, couldn’t have asked for more. Great to have this as a local option- was quick and the chips especially were spot on. Appreciated a little help and input with our order, they were all kind and helpful. 100% will be back. Thoroughly recommended.

Fish without the guilt. Great chips too. Pollock was great but could go more out there if people are prepared to be adventurous in a chippie? Great selection of sauces, vinegars and flavoured salt. Too cool for the city though more of a exmouth market joint.

This was good. Solid chips, option for fries, quality fish. The cost is high, but then what isn't in central London. Lunch specials and weekday offers will hopefully mitigate this too.

This was amazing fish and chips, with an excellent selection of sides (gravy, mushy peas!). The batter was particularly delicious. If I had to criticize, the chips were a bit crispy, and the battered sausage was a bit too high quality, but that's insane I know.

The fish is very fresh and nicely cooked. Loved the fries. Had the small portion and definitely did not leave hungry. The sauces are great as well.

Quite simply the best chips I've had in London for years. Can't wait to work my way through the complete menu. Good sauces to compliment the dishes too. Recommended.

It's really bloody good. Mushy peas are proper and very tasty (big portion too). Chips were nicely done. Pollock was perfect with a thick enough batter so that the fish doesn't overcook. A small portion was enough for me. Beer is tasty too.

I did like the fish, it was freshly fried, but the chips I didn't like much

We had noticed United Chip during construction, and glanced at the menu once it opened, but didn't make it in until reading the glowing Jay Rayner review. First visit was a couple orders of chips and a battered sausage, plus curry sauce on the side. The house-made sauces were great, we tried tartare and Bangkok mayo, and liked them both, although the curry sauce was the real hero. Chips were incredibly crispy, and better than our other local (and very popular) fish and chips mini-chain. We went again recently and had a prawn burger and fried halloumi with chips, and both were great. So nice to have a vegetarian option! Chips were excellent again, and we tried the other sauces and really enjoyed them. Portions are very reasonable (I couldn't finish my chips on either occasion), and comparable to places with food that isn't nearly as fresh. It's a nice atmosphere in the space, good views to watch the world go by, and seemed like a nice selection of drinks. So yes, I would definitely recommend United Chip, and will be visiting again with friends and family over the summer!

Strong contender for the best fish and chips in the area. The fish is fresh and the batter, nice and crisp. And they do an excellent battered sausage too - good quality meat and massive! Not like those awful bready things you get at other establishments. Nice to have the option of chips or thinner cut frites (both tasty) and love the range of free sauces and condiments on offer too.

Our first visit and it wont be our last. We were welcomed on arrival by a friendly team. The food was cooked fresh to order and was lovely. Great portion sizes. The chips were proper, the batter crispy, cod flaky and the calamari just right. The homemade tartare sauce was a nice touch as was the fact they sell beer and wine.

Excellent batter, good fish and very good chips. Prices are reasonable too, with a small haddock and chips at £6.50 still a generous portion. Well worth a trip, and a nice not to be charged extra for sauces.

It's pretty rare to find a fish and chips nearby that is not a dreadful Kennedy's. It's does what it says on the tin, serves some really good fish and chips plus some extra selections such as battered sausages. The chips portions are huge but the fish could be a bit bigger, specially compared with the chips. The sauces they provide for free with the meals are delicious

Really delicious fish and chips! The batter they make is a perfect parcel and is so crispy! The only downside is that they don't salt their chips right after cooking them, making them somewhat bland without the free sauces they provide

Loved it! Cute vibes - pastel colours The small fish is quite small so if you’re hungry I’d say go for medium - double check the size of the boxes (all out on the side) to give you a good idea of amounts Lovely staff, not a big queue Can eat in too! A stylish take on fish and chips Even have rosemary for you to put on your chips I’ll be back!

I'm not the fussiest chippy eater ever and this new haunt will become my regular haunt especially since it's on mealpal and near my office! The sausage is massive. Prices are decent. They give you way too much chips... The amount of seasoning available is out of this world... Including kelp seasoning!!! I'm not complaining!! Word of advice, even a small portion of haddock and chips made me fall asleep when I went back to work...!!! Only lament is that the full menu is only available after 3pm... Maybe do one day a week where we can try the full menu during lunch hour???

Modern take on the Fish&Chips. Thick, normal and sweet fries and you can order them in a box with Haddock, Pollock and Cod so far. Sides available (Calamari, Scampi, Mushroom...) It feels as greasy as your typical fish and chips though, so yet to see if they bring some healthy sides.

I popped in while out for the day, interested to see a new venture on this part of Clerkenwell Road. I was really impressed! The fish and chips is absolutely spot-on, great quality, and they offer some excellent non-cynical options in terms of portion size (I didn't have the largest and it was a great portion anyway). I believe they're also licenced, and on top of all this the staff were great, keen to chat when I went up to the counter at the end to learn more. A huge success!
