I went today to meet a friend googled up the place and was told the best coffee shop in wanstead. It truly was a great experience, the staff were so helpful and friendly wonderful atmosphere I really had a fabulous time enjoying the best latte I have had in a very long time thank you for that Tim you really are a pro. Thanx you all again for a great experience will definitely go back for food next time - fab menu.
While i was visiting my daughter in Wanstead i went here regularly. The food is great the service happy and friendly and the Bailrys hot chocolate... mmm..to die for. See you next year.
It was amazing meet friends for lunch n coffee. Staff very friendly .
Great food, coffee and friendly staff!
Great place, lovely salads, cakes and coffee. A nice place to sit alone or enjoy with friends
The Larder is superb & not only does a delicious range of coffees, pastries & deli goodies, it also very generously exhibits works by local artists on the walls of the cafe..
in my case some framed photography prints- go and treat yourself to a visit!
My favorite cafe in the whole of london :) best lattes and cake :)
Smashing coffee. Superb Baristas. Always a delightful selection of cakes too
Lovely place, spacious yet cosy and amazing food! Spectacular breakfast with great attention to detail - properly cooked beans that don't just come straight from the tin and great flavours all round. Highly recommended!
Best flat white on Wanstead High Street. Ideal place for a relaxed lazy brunch. Friendly staff and lovely food.
Had a lovely birthday lunch today. The food was delicious and the service kind and attentive. There was a problem with my food but the staff couldn't have done more to address it. An offer of a full refund (which I didn't accept because it was not negligence) and a complementary tea and cakes (very acceptable!)made this a 5 star review 😀
I left my bag in The Larder. Came back the next day and asked if someone had found/handed my bag in yesterday, and thankfully they did.
One of the members of staff found the bag and kept it safe behind the counter and I collected my bag just now.
Thank you so much to your and your wonderful team, the fact that it was kept safe by your staff and nothing was taken from my bag, shows there is kindness and humanity in the world.
Thank you! 🙏
I regularly come here with friends /family or solo to get some work done. A very relaxed atmosphere with super friendly service. The coffee is delicious, I love a mocha with coconut milk and a special treat is the bailey's hot chocolate. The chai spiced coconut cake is divine. Everything on the menu is fresh tasting and made beautifully, my go to is the Wanstead veggie breakfast.
Reasonably priced food thats fresh and well portioned. Would recommend the smoky beans- were lovely in the wanstead breakfast- and the afternoon tea looked great. Let down by the loos- not clean and lots of drain flies. Nice spot for a quick lunch.
First time visiting The Larder, and I was very impressed! The service was polite, I was on a time crunch which I let them know, and the food was served very quickly. I ordered the veggie breakfast bowl and it was delicious, very filling and a super reasonable price. Would definitely return again!
Nice chilled out café but for some inexplicable reason they don't accept cash. While other cafés on the High Street are packed out and you can pay however you like, there are lots of empty chairs at the Larder.
we went here for brekkie on Saturday and the food was fab! had the cooked breakfast with sausage and loved the smoked beans they served with it.
The Larder is a great addition to Wanstead high st. I have been going here since they opened.
Coffee is consistently great. Salads are also very good but pricey. I have ordered several over the years and they are consistently generous and high quality.
The Larder has got serious competition from the much overated and expensive Gails, a few doors down.
It is a bit dark in there but the new extention is a welcome addition.
Recently the background music playing has become terrible. I feel like i am in a nightclub.
When I come to a coffee shop, I like gentle BACKGROUND music. Like most people, i come to sit alone and read/ write or chat to friends, and the music is not conducive to any of these activities.
They need to seriously rethink the type of music they play, it really puts people off from coming here.
This is my favourite place to visit on a Sunday morning. Tea drinkers, the Cutting Chai and London Fog are to die for! The staff are friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is very warm, relaxed and cosy. A home from home. My only development points are, a loyalty card for customers like me who are here most Sundays and more active clearing of tables and crumbs left behind by some of the smaller patrons would be appreciated!
Great place for breakfast. Relaxed but nice atmosphere. Good seating for a relaxed coffee.
Had a good lunch here at very reasonable prices. The ham and Montgomery cheese melt was good, but not as good as the very tasty Superfood with chicken. Don't know why the menu doesn't have a more helpful description of this dish which includes (I think) bulgur wheat, sweet potato, possibly spinach leaves but, whatever, it tastes damn good!
Only downside was the non-working coffee machine, hence only 4 stars.
Tasty food and superb cakes! Buzzing with little feet and chitter chatter of everyday! Great place to watch the world go by!
