Finally, and without any need given the volume of food consumed, we had a "pan fried garlic chive pancake pocket". Now it may look like something from Findus, but this was great, lightly fried with a crisp shell, the filling was joy of chive, egg and garlic.
Fantastic and authentic Chinese food. Had the Suan La Fen (potato noodle in sour soup) and some BBQ beef tripe and lamb meat. Had requested the former to be less spicy and that request was accordingly tended to. The BBQ items were generously marinated with spices and I definitely highly recommend them. Would however appreciate if the lady serving me didn't seem too indifferent.
FINALLY! A great Chinese near Stratford!! We must have tried every restaurant in the area, this is by far the best. FANTASTIC GUYS
The shop has a nice calm, clean and ambient atmosphere. The food is oh my gosh so amazing it tastes like it's straight from the pan and it is so tender and juicy and fresh and everything I love about food. I only tried the sweet and sour chicken with noodles so far and it beats any other chinese restaurant I tried so far.
This place is one of my favorite authentic Chinese restaurants in London, Swerve away from the westernized main menu and look towards the back page, hand made pork dumplings, chive and egg pancake, sichuan spicy stewed pork with vermicelli noodles, ALL THE BBQ SKEWERS (but best is the lamb and cumin, which is only £1 a pop so get loads!) The staff are really nice and friendly if you express interest in trying something new.
I've found at the weekends the quality goes down a bit, I think this is because their main business is delivering chinese food to the masses
The decor is nothing to write home about but don't let that dissuade you. Go in with a group of friends, order some cheap Tsingtao beer (a chinese favourite and perfect for spicy food!). You will have a great night!
Amazing food and great value. I was so pleased to eat my favourite our it's again-the cold starters, the BBQ skewers, the pancakes! Mmmm. 11/10 - would happily gorge myself again.
Unassuming little restaurant that specialises in surprisingly good Szechuanese food and Chinese BBQ. We tried the lamb skewers, which were perfectly dressed in cumin and spices. The pot of sliced beef was deliciously spicy and lip-numbing with lots of Szechuan pepper. A cold salad of shredded kelp was a perfect accompaniement. BEWARE of the Westernised Chinese also served (attached a photo of the no-go areas in the menu). Simple/slighly uninterested service, as usual in Chinese restaurants. Reasonable prices. We're sure we'll come back.
The English menu is the usual fare, too generic to even bother trying. There is a Chinese menu which is much more authentic and is why people should try this place. They used to have a menu with English translation, but guess the non-Chinese weren't adventurous enough to try anything but the sweet and sour...
Eat at the place, it doesn't look as much, but the food was good. I think next time I'll order takeaway see if is the same quality.
Must say it lives up to its name TOP TASTE,cos that's exactly what it is.
Value for the money n the taste is tops.
Perrrrfect in everyway.
Batter was not greasy at all❤️
