I volunteer cook with Parkholme Supperclub. It's always fun and educational and supports a vital charity in MSF. It's a great night out for the guests too!

Early Saturday evening and the place is buzzing and welcoming, all ages, good music, nice ales and cocktails, small enough to be friendly. Got to be a pretty well heeled crowd to have this as your local, but you wouldn’t know it, would be happy to have as mine! #21 #17

packed spot at the best of times (in a good way) with an exceptional roast that we stumbled upon after a tennis session in LF. this spot should be one very sunday roast guide written within the M25! great selection of beers and great old school feel too.

We had a roast here last Sunday and it was great. They accommodated my request for a child’s portion as I wasn’t massively hungry which they don’t usually do. It was all great (i had the pork) although the beef was a bit tough on my friends plates. The veggies were great but the potatoes were a tiny bit hard. I think this is due to the set up for Covid (which felt very thorough) as it all came out rather fast we thought maybe they have it already under a heat lamp to ensure quick turnarounds for customers which we were fine with as it was all really yummy still. The gravy was a high point for me. Gravy can make or break a roast and theirs was really rich and lovely. The house wine was good and the staff provided a good service. It has a nice atmosphere with a lot of cute nooks and crannies with wild flowers on the tables. The toilets could do with a spruce up if I had to say anything. Good outside area too

Absolutely amazing! We were celebrating the birthday of a very close friend and the staff located us on the second floor so the atmosphere was just perfect!

Nice pub. Basic food. Only problem or meals being cleared before we'd finished, so we were chatting to the people at a function, so chatting away, but they did bring us a replacement meal.

If you're looking for somewhere to host a party then look no further! We had our wedding reception here for about 60 people in the function room upstairs and had a truly wonderful time. We pre-ordered food and drinks which were set up for our arrival and everything went incredibly smoothly thanks to Joe and the team :) Also the room is beautiful with bunting and fairy lights, so we didn't even need to worry about decorating. All round great vibes, great food, great crowd.

Great boozer. My partner and I had the spicy bean burger and chips, with Sauvignon Blanc. Delicious 😋

Cosy and lovely pub with great deco. The beer selection was second to none. I enjoyed the atmosphere while eating a Halloumi burger. It felt safe Covid-wise: not too crowded, table service, and friendly / attentive stuff. All in all, it floats my boat.

Great Sunday roast with real rare roast beef and delicious veggies. There's a pretty laid back vibe overall, and this isn't the smartest pub in Hackney, but with outdoor seating and a truly local feel, you'll be pretty happy.

Charming backstreet pub not far from heart of Dalston. Good ale selection and some varied menu options to suit all tastes.

Decent choice of drinks at a decent price. Spacious, traditional and a pool table at the back which is a lovely addition. Great taxidermy and look out for the vintage jukebox and bust of Brunel; slightly chilly reception from bar staff but overall a very positive experience.

A pub, full of craft beers, nice wines and a selection of spirits - it's a pub. But a very nice pub. A trendy person sort of place, not teenager trendy, professional trendy place but in casual clothes. A section of the bar assigned to the age appropriate sippers. Lovely to see. A menu on every table, opertunity to dine where you sit but also a room dedicated to eating. The food is the menu you expect in a pub, but done well. Personally - loved being there and will go again.

Genuinely lovely, well mannered bar staff served us at the weekend, made the visit. Nice pint of Hophead and a glass of Rioja - (didn't mind waiting for the corkscrew) enjoyed on the tables outside. A great local with a great friendly feel.
