Pizza's are yum. Just a smidge off the beaten Hoxton/Shoreditch track so less crowded. Great.

It has been my beloved watering hole for over 4 years. Every day is different with people from all walks of life but the lovely staff ladies stay the same.

It’s surprising to find a bar in the uber-trendy Shoreditch that isn’t overpriced and full of businessmen but The Red Lion is hidden well enough to ensure the relaxed and friendly crowd of people who just want to sit in the sun and drink are not disturbed.

Looking for a beer garden in Hoxton? The roof terrace at the Red Lion, just off Hoxton Square is a nice alternative to other better known venues like Queen of Hoxton. Inside its a bit youth clubby especially the third floor with table a football table, but it's really all about being outside on the roof in summer.

This place is a proper pub that just happens to be frequented by hipsters. And, apparently, they have a roof garden! I've never ventured up there, but have come here a few times to have some of the cheapest drinks you can get in the area. The place just feels like someone's living room, which is what I like about it, all mismathed furniture, cosy and close, tall lamps and a fireplace. They haven't succumbed to the trend of craft beers or biodynamic wines - you can get lagers like Stella and the wine tastes like the stuff you drink in Wetherspoons but it's a laid back, non-pretentious place, a little off the beaten track. Worth checking out.

A fine pub indeed. Tiny bar downstairs with the most wonderful person serving behind the bar. Excellent service and a happy disposition. Upstairs, a playroom if you like table football, further upstairs, another playroom if you like pool and even further upstairs a rooftop garden to enjoy the sunshine. An excellent place to enjoy a drink.

This is one of the best pubs I've ever been to in London. There are many floors but the main event is the roof garden. This is without doubt a hidden gem. There's a games room where you can play pool and arcade games and a meeting and function room 😊

Lovely little rooftop bar, with many an interesting room on the way up. Definitely well worth going in the summer or that but if good English weather ☁️ ☀️

Cozy multi storey pub! Love the roof top sitting area! Loved the place. They do some fantastic pizzas for under a tenner. Can't really ask for more.

Great pizzas, lovely roof top terrace (not pretentious like the others) and friendly staff. Surprising that we were able to get a seat and there were no queues for the rooftop considering it was a lovely sunny day in early June.

I am yet to try their iconic food. This place has 4 floors and the roof area is stunning. Like a korean setting with the string bulb lights. Also they have this arcade basketball game, it so much fun. Absolutely loved it. This would be a great place for small parties, bridal shower, stag's do and organised meet ups. You can rent floors and each one has toliets except the roof.

Pretty basic, but kind of does what it says on the tin and has a roof terrace & free to play pool table

This place has changed so much over the past 20 years. I remember zee good old days when you could have a little dance in there on Saturday night. I even had an interview in that great little pub! The place is now amazing with the roof garden. It's well done without too much fuss and it is so lovely to have a high rise pint over Hoxton in the least pretentious and bestest pub in the area!

Decent pub in a good location and the roof bar is cool. Bit of an odd atmosphere as all the rooms are quite small and separated. They do have free pool and table football, which is great

The Red Lion - what a place. Went there of a sunny Sunday evening with girlfriend, as was enticed by the promise of an actually open rooftop (throwing shade on you Culpepper). Plus, having lived in Shoreditch for years, I had never even heard of it. A rooftop it certainly had, and although we didn't get sweeping views of East London, we got to play cards on a picnic bench in the sun. So all good. Otherwise, quite a bizarre pub, and I would love to know more about it and its normal business. It was almost empty at the time, and had a remarkably student union-y feel to it (something I reckon I'm qualified to comment on given an interminable 13 years of student-hood). Pool table, wipe down pleather sofas, a neon bar signs inside, DJ booth in a small room, one-person-only toilet door signs, very relaxed and casual bar staff. GF input on request: 'does everything you want it to do: its got a rooftop, its got a pool table, its got weird lines on the floor and serves £6 pints from plastic cups - what else could you want' ...Its hard to explain... it's like someone had themed it 'student union'... go check it out...

Amazing pub with a fantastic roof top and great selection of drinks. The staff are so lovely and phoned me the next day to say that they had retrieved my gold ring from down the sink after it slipped off while I was washing my hands! I can't believe they managed to get it out and have been so kind to go to all that effort, contact me and look after it for me. The cheesy chips are delicious too! Thank you Red Lion <3

Always a live and lovely spot to have evening drinks. Easy to get to from local stations and puts you right at the door of Shoreditch & Hoxton. Good vibes and lovely decor inside. Highly advised visit!

Cool place, small, noisy, bubbly. Nice way to spend an evening after work. Especially if the terrace is open, it's even better. It can get really crowded though, so maybe put a limit of people that go up there? Otherwise, good prices, good pizzas, good location.

Amazing rooftop... not to many options of druft beer and pizza is too oily but in sunny days it deserve to be visited

Good food offers to be found in a no nonsense pub that had successfully managed to attract the hipster crowd while also hanging on to its old clientele. Nice little bare-bones roof terrace upstairs. It's a place with a lot of atmosphere when it gets full - like the best kind of house parties you had in your 20s. Multiple floors and multiple rooms. It's a good little spot.
