We just live around the corner and have been here a few times. Mainly sundays!

Staff is very nice and helpful. The Sunday roast was great! Absolutely delicious and perfect to cure a hangover. We didnt have to wait long! I had the kids portion which was plenty of food, followed by the apple crumble!

They do have an outside area as well! Perfect pub for a relaxed weekend get-together and some decent pub food!

I came here after an intense work out at the Castle Climbing Centre. We were looking for some high protein food as well as good food and a lot of the climbers said this was the place to go.

Going on a Sunday we got the luxury of the Roasts and they had many options for what we wanted including Pork, Beef, Lamb and a veggie option.

As for drinks they have a huge array including ciders, beers and wines that are bottled and poured, The main dinner room is upstairs and when we walked in after waiting 20 mins we were shown to a table.

Annoyingly there is no waiter service so once you've gone upstairs you have to go back down and order. Once you order you are given a spoon with a number on that tells them where to take your food.

The plates are literally overflowing especially with the pork, I did notice that you do tend to get less meat on the Beef and the crackling on the pork that was stated largely on the menu was literally the size of my thumb which was a bit disappointing. Each plate was served with green beans, carrots, broccoli and red cabbage to finish off the meal as well as the giant Yorkshire pudding that is placed on the top.

Overall it was a filling meal and you got a bit of everything but I was let down by the crackling which was the one thing that everyone at the table got excited about.

The atmosphere was fun in the pub and I can see it being a regular occurrence when I go to the Castle Climbing Centre.

Lucky to have The Brownswood as my local. Decent range of drinks inc real ales, wines and ciders. Food is always very good, - try the burger! Friendly management and regular themed nights. Their pub quiz on a Wednesday is very popular so book ahead!

Genuinely fantastic Sunday roast. Brilliant stuff. Nice staff too. Excellent beer choice. But damn the lighting is horrible. Harsh and bright. Makes the grand old pub look like a 1970s waiting room. For the love of all that is sacred put a few standard lamps around and turn off those central lights.

Me and my husband just checked out and I just needed to say everything was amazing. The staff were so incredibly friendly, nice and helpful. The rooms were great. We were here specifically for the Arsenal game, couldn’t beat the location. Even in great walking distance of other restaurants, main roads and shops.

A great pub. 4.5 stars but putting 5 to not give a pull down ranking. I have to admit I've gone past it many times but only recently went in. The building, space available and beers seem to be the jewels of the browns wood tavern. I didn't eat. Staff seemed nice. Worth calling out that the range of beers was very good and signs of quality there, with branded glasses.

Came here for some drinks in the summer. Nice outdoor seating with plenty of tables available. Was quite busy for a Wednesday night which was nice. Saw a lot of people eating what looked like traditional pub food. Haven’t had the food here but it came across as a standard London pub with nice garden seating available

I went to the pub tonight with a friend, my dad ordered us drinks from Canada and left a little note. The staff came out with the drinks and personally read us the hilarious note he left! It seriously made our night, I have such a close relationship with my dad and I miss him loads when we are apart. This meant everything to us ❤️ What a lovely pub!

Celebrated my boyfriend's birthday yesterday in the beautiful garden area with a large group of friends and had an immaculate evening. The fish and chips is best in the area, great selection of drinks, but mostly the service goes above and beyond. Joel spent so much time making sure our setup was ok, giving us extra candles for the outside area, directing us to new tables that were better lit, and helping us wrap our cake in the end. Thanks Joel!

Love the brownswood sm! Been coming here for three years since I moved to the area and it is still the pub I feel most comfortable and cosy in. A friend and I had our birthday here in September and they were really accommodating - no booking deposit or anything just same as ever but with a guarantee there would be space for everyone (in the garden) - which I think is how all pub birthdays should be! Recently my friends and I won a Sunday roast in the pub quiz, and so the brownswood was both the backdrop for a lot of wholesome times had this month. ♥️ I will ALWAYS recommend!

Good pub, great atmosphere and a lot of choice of drinks and food. Also the new flavour of the burger is the best I’ve tasted in a very long time! Food service has gotten much quicker and better quality and the new chef is very quick! Safe to say i will be returning very soon

We had a wonderful time at The Brownswood and will definitely be staying there again in the future. The room was lovely, very spacious and impeccably clean, and the lovely ladies from houskeeping made it feel like new every day. The wonderful, kind staff were the absolute highlight for us, as they did everything to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Thank you so much!

Good food and beers at reasonable prices. But it has often happened to us that we go for a Sunday roast and they have run out of chicken. We usually end up ordering something else, but it's not the same. People after us wanting to order chicken too, and we hear them let down. Maybe the management doesn't realise because many people still order something after all. But please know that you could likely prepare several more each Sunday. Thanks!

Good veggie/bean burger. Adorable dog at the bar. Wine price seemed a bit high (£14.10 for a large glass of white)...... But cute dog made up for it. Good location to eat after a swim at the West Reservoir.

We stayed here for a weekend at the end of June for a concert that was on finsbury park, so this was a great location for this. The staff were lovely and helpful and had a great continental breakfast choice. We Would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Fabulous place to stay. Friendly staff and great rooms. Food good, beer good. Not suitable if you can't manage a couple of sets of steep, narrow stairs to the bedrooms, but if you can then highly recommended.

The Brownswood Pub & Guest House is ideally situated for spending time in London. It is located less than 10 minutes’ walk from Manor House tube station and a few minutes walk from the nearest bus stop: both of which quickly take you right into the centre of London. The well appointed guest rooms are situated above the old traditional local pub. The busy pub and beer garden which is on a quiet sunny street corner serves up tasty and filling ’pub-grub’ and has a wide selection of beers and spirits. Although busy when we stayed, noise was not intrusive at night. We enjoyed a fish and chip bar supper and some very entertaining craic with the locals. Friendly bar staff. The Guest Rooms Manager, Dita, greeted us with a friendly smile. She is a very accommodating, helpful person. Nothing was too much trouble. The guest house has only 6 rooms all of which are individually styled/decorated with a boutique hotel feel. Our room was of a good size, well appointed, and comfortable with ensuite facilities. Rather narrow and steep stairs had to be negotiated to get to the guest rooms floor. Breakfast, which was pre-booked was served in the large sunny function room. Dita always had a smile and time to chat with you. Breakfast choice was small, but freshly prepared, cooked and served to your table. Breakfast was not rushed. Highly recommend The Brownswood Pub & Guest House. We will definitely stay there on our next visit to London.
