The classic pub is a quintessential neighborhood hangout with a laid-back vibe and a bustling crowd. The bartenders are knowledgeable and attentive, and the selection of beers and spirits is impressive. The menu offers classic pub fare, including juicy burgers and crispy fish and chips, which are cooked to perfection. The cozy interior is filled with wooden furnishings and dim lighting, making it the perfect place to unwind after a long day. Whether you're looking for a night out with friends or a casual date spot, this classic pub is a must-visit.
Traditional English pub opposite Gloucester Road tube station. Inside and outside seating. Nice selection of beers. Gastro pub style menu. Reasonably priced fir such a high profile area. Staff were all pleasant and polite. Quite busy during my visit, so another bar person would have improved service times. Good choice menu. Nice atmosphere. Large TV screens showing sports. I had the fish & chips which I enjoyed. I will return soon.

❤️ An enjoyable Greene King boozer.
.
The Stanhope Arms is located at the end of a Victorian terrace in plush South Kensington. Gloucester Road Tube station with its beautifully oxblood tiled exterior is just across the road.
.
This pub was built in 1869 and is named after local landowners The Stanhopes (The Earls of Harrington). There are streets, mews and gardens close by which all bear their name.
.
This is a traditionally decorated pub that is set out in an “L” shape. There is plenty of seating available which consists of low level tables and chairs, compacted together poser tables, plus one comfy banquette on the right hand side of the bar. This Greene King pub is bright and airy and has some Greene King uniformity around the walls. The star of the show is the stunning ornate back bar with its carved top and etched glass.
.
The beer selection was good, there were lots of familiar brands and one cask ale on at the time. I had a pint of Estrella, my pint was great and a little over average price. There is a traditional pub grub menu, Fish & Chips costs ÂŁ15.29.
.
I arrived around 2pm on a Sunday afternoon and the pub was busy with a mix of older locals, day trippers and tourists from across the pond. There was a nice atmosphere here, even though it was busy everything was calm and relaxed.
.
There are lots of @greeneking_official pubs in and around Kensington, this is definitely my favourite. I really enjoyed the vibe here and the back bar is a work of art. I would recommend a visit here, I would say during the day during the week is the best time to visit.

What an amazing ambiance in this place! Great bar, great snacks and brilliant service. They were generous with their snacks and even upgraded it!
This is a great British pub.... beer and pub food were great. The service from the staff was great as well.
The most affordable (at first glance) fish and chips in the area. Wide selection of beers. Toilets are overran by construction workers from nearby.
I love this pub, we go at least 4 times a week. The land lady is the best. Always welcome us with a smile. Good atmosphere, really sweet bar staff. Love the food. Great night out.
Standard English pub. The food isn’t spectacular but rather decent. I’d stick to British specialties. Their burger wasn’t great and a bit over cooked, for example, whereas the sausages with mashed potatoes were quite good. Service is ok and the prices are fair.
A nice little neighborhood pub but maybe a bit touristy (I mean - we were tourists haha). We had to wait for our flat to be prepared so we stopped by for some lunch and a drink. The menu is very heavy and oddly varied, but I find that to be true of a lot of places in London lately. It’s not a bad thing but I do cringe a bit when they call them “fries” and not chips. We got some chips regardless, a grilled cheese (it was fine - needs a better cheese to bread ratio), and my husband got a pie (which was also fine). Had a couple delicious ciders and the pretzel with cheese dip. It very much felt like being in a brewery back in the States, which is probably closer to the vibe they’re going for as most of the diners were Americans. Service was nice and quick. No complaints, honestly.
Nice traditional pub. Can get loud but if that's the atmosphere you like, you've found a home
