Loved it , good food and ale , staff very friendly and this pub is in a very good position overlooking the Thames , would recommend . The only thing that spoilt things was an old woman complaining about the staff. The staff were very good

Annual visit to the boat race and The Ship. Pressured bar staff, but friendly and helpful - village pub feel. And, an Oxford win for the men's boat :)

A delightful pub right on the Thames. I’d finished work nearby and stopped for a snack and a glass of wine. I had the halloumi fries that came with a lovely sauce and chopped chillis. Really delicious. The service is great to friendly welcoming and engaging.

Service was great but you had to ask for a key to use the loo. I didn't eat just had a refreshing drink and sat outside and, the views of Thames there are awesome. It's a quiet little road there too so all was great there for a quiet little drink with friends.

I had to organised a wake for 35 people which was difficult as I'm not local to Mortlake . The Ship is about a 5min walk from Mortlake Crematorium , making it an ideal place for this situation and great location right by the river Thames . Liam the manager was helpful and considerate , as was the rest of the team . We had the conservatory to ourselves although some of our guests preferred sitting in the pub itself . Everyone comment how lovely the hot food was , ( not a curled egg mayo sarnie in sight ) my sister actually said it was the best food she's had at a wake , e.g. meat and vegetarian burgers , halloumi ,chicken wings plus more . Would definitely recommend this place and it's a pity we don't live near by . Thanks Liam and team , for making a difficult time welcoming .

Excellent, convivial local pub. Welcoming, with loads of character. Great views over the Thames river- ideal place for lunch during a walk. Limited but good traditional pub menu- food is well cooked and presented. Good selection of ales and Gin in particular. Darts available, multiple TVs for sports plus real fireplace. Very nice and spacious outside seating available. The site of 16th century occultist John Dee's house is just 200m walk away.

We had no intention to end up here but traffic jams demanded a break. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. A lovely traditional looking pub both in and out with a cracking view of Father Thames. My Lady Friend chose the fishcakes and I a steak ciabatta, both a delight. A traditional pint of bitter was spot on. I'll leave the car on our next visit as the choice of beers was quite mind boggling. Great friendly and efficient service. We shall return soon. Regards and thanks from Barnes

Lovely evening sat outside enjoying the last of the good weather, as always the service was friendly, welcoming and professional, good selection of ales and larger as well as wines and spirits, had the hunter's Chicken for my dinner, very nice, even if it took a while ( as freshly prepared) well worth the wait 👍🏻 If you're ever wandering down the river this is a great place to stop even if it's just for a quick drink, like me, you will be back.

Well, The Ship in Mortlake, wonderful! A lovely sprawling pub right on the river. Great staff and a good selection of beers and wines History too, the clock above the fireplace is a Tavern Clock. It does not appear to work but is still right twice a day! All is well with the world. Do visit!
