This place opened just before the recession hit in earnest but the fact that they're always doing brisk business speaks for how utterly amazing the cakes are!! Whoever took over the running of the place is nothing short of a bakery God. Bread, cakes, sandwiches - can't fault any of them. Many are nothing like you've had before, and even simple things like apple pie, once you've tasted them, make you realise you've been short-changed all your life till now. Ok, premium quality asks for premium prices, e.g. Around £2.50 per cake portion, but you will never regret it.

Just moved to the area and this has become our weekend morning spot! We're up before most, so when we go there are plenty of tables, but it does get busier as the day goes on- that's how you know it's good. Coffee is great and the pastries are mouth watering. Staff has been consitant and wonderful. Can't wait for it to be a bit warmer to try out a table out front!

Always so nice in here. The staff are considerate and pleasant. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed. Great coffee even with oat milk! Love their chai latte - no sugar. Yay!! Their gluten free rye and pumpkin seed bread loaf tastes so good too.

The cafe has a really nice atmosphere, and the staff are so friendly. I went with my family, and there was something for everyone. Coffee was really good, and some of the cakes as well as the breads, were gluten-free, which is not a necessity, but a big plus. My fiance and I love to stay at cafes like this, just to watch the staff being nice to strangers and the regulars. I had to take my family of 6, including a grandma in a wheelchair to Gatwick airport, and the manager of the bakery helped us get a taxi, as it turned out to be the cheapest option. All in all a 5/5. We are wanting to go back to London, just to have a few more days at the cafe.

I’ve been a regular customer for a few months now, and it’s the best bakery and cafe in the area. Always fresh high quality bread, lots of vegetarian options of food to have in the cafe. Great customer service, which is important as I always come in with a buggy and feel very welcomed there with my child. Great decor as well and bang changing facilities is a great addition!

Lavelis is my staple go to every morning before work. The staff know my regular order, Oat Flat White, always a smile and greeting when you come in! The coffee is amazing quality and always prepared perfectly , the staff are lovely! The manager goes above and beyond always!. I recommend the brownies they're delicious as are the pistachio eclairs. They are on the more expensive side of pattiserie however it's worth it and everything is prepared fresh and to a high standard. Coffee is cheaper than your average chain coffee shop and is amazing quality!

Great staff, great, coffee, okay food, long wait time for coffee. The flat white is very good and the pasteries are yummy, especially the leek and mushroom quiche, and croissants. But the menu items leave a little room for improvement. I don't order off menu anymore but I so still go in at least 4 days a week for coffee and pastries! The staff are always pleasant and work to move the line along. Sometimes the wait for coffee is a bit long but it doesn't bother me.

First time I visited, and the assistant he shown excellent customer service. I had not my visa card on the day. I didn't realise till after the order I saw a sign that said visa/cards only . I apologised and explained I only have cash which I thought I would have to leave the order of hot drink, but he gave me it with no charge but I gave the tip of cash for the drink even though he was insistent that it was ok. Very thoughtful.

I regularly buy breakfast here in Askew Village. We do both takeaway and the sit down affair on occasion. The bread and croissant are consistently fabulous, but always freshly baked, so they do vary which I love! The selection of breads are awesome and generally service has been excellent.. The almond croissant is my choice. The kids default for the pain au chocolat. Outside seating means you can watch the world go by or venture inside and enjoy the patronage.. generally the local good stock reside here! Coffee is high-end.

A lovely find while walking with my soon to give birth daughter who had sweet cravings. Great ambience and very patient staff who waited for us to make our selection from the mouth watering cakes... buy only after my daughter took an essential pit stop. She's s very fussy and she came out with a smile on her face l assume the facilities passed muster. We chose a slice of Apple Crumble tart and a very generous sized almond filled croissant. Apart from cakes there was of course beautiful fresh crusty loaves including my favourite sourdough and there is an interesting selection of deli goods on shelves opposite the main counter. I had hoped my daughter would sit down for brunch because the menu looked very inviting. My new granddaughter had other ideas though so we had to beat a hasty retreat home. A slap up sit down meal will have to wait till another occasion. I actually didn't get to eat my croissant till 7 that evening. It was well worth the wait and my daughter certainly deserved the crumble. The ambience at Laveli is highly commended by the regulars who l chatted to there. I will be back. Other branches are available too.
