A great pub with fantastic staff and great food & atmosphere. Very helpful and welcoming when we recently held a celebration here! Definitely recommend it!!

Michael and Fenton are great managers at the Duke of Sussex and they always welcome new customers to the pub. Good food as well.

My friend and I came in on a Monday night. The place had a patron or two (we learned later most regular customers were away for a family event). That did not take away from the experience at all. In fact, I would venture to say it added to it because we had the time to talk with the patrons and bartender already in there.
First, Fin(n), tending the bar, was absolutely genuine, personal, inviting, etc. Talking with him was easy and engaging. We learned a little about him, the pub, the area, and London overall. As visitors this was really welcomed.
Second, we have the food and drink. Drink prices were pretty reasonable. The selection was moderate, but enough. We did talk about establishing more locally sourced options. There was no food option. My friend and I left for food but came back. At this time the pub only offers weekend food. However, the establishment stayed open later than most places (especially those in the vicinity on the main road), so we got the local Chinese food and came back later. Even though it was slow Fin(n) was extremely accommodating, friendly, talkative, and engaging.
Overall, we really enjoyed the local experience. It's a good representation of the area from people who seem to genuinely care.
They did a reception here for my brother Donald Cameron's Wake. I cannot recommend them enough. The food was amazing and the attention to detail impeccable.

Hogey and his staff appeared to effortlessly feed us superb food, genuinely take care of all our needs in a very comfortable environment. They all contributed to making our brother's wake memorable. A huge thank you Hogey.

Love my local. They’ve just started doing food again after a very long break, had sunday roast today and it was really good. There are so few friendly unpretentious local pubs left like this ❤️

22.04.23 - Part one of Pilgrims Way walk from Southwark to Canterbury Cathedral and decided to have a quick detour for drink, and bite to eat. We were made to feel very welcome and food was great.

Fantastic local pub which has been recently redone. They have plenty of outdoor seating in the front, a dining room and also a cute little beer garden in the back complete with flowering pots and fairy lights. Friendly bar service with a good selection of beers, ales and snacks. They are also dog friendly! Which is great news to our pooch. 100% would come back again for a pint with friends or family.
Lovely pub, recently refurbished. Had been past a few times when it was closed down but popped in today. Great selection of beers, lots of comfy seats inside, also tables out the front and lovely garden area out the back. Perfect if you want a contrast to the other crowded Peckham pubs, this is a very classy establishment with friendly bar staff. Will definitely be visiting again on my way back from work. 😎
