Cakes and Ladders is a really cute place to hang out with your friends and play board games. The food isn't that great - the cheese toasties are really nice - but I think the main reason you would come to Cakes Ladders is not for the food but more for the board games. The set up is really beautiful and they have a nice selection of board games. I've been here twice and it's been really great so far!

A great little local venue. Based on an old London bus this venue is a real treasure trove. Great for small groups there is a great assortment of ethically sourced foods and drinks. Good range of vegan options. Situated just off Station Road this feels like a taste of Borough Market in North London. What makes it stand out are the board games, the friendly staff and the fabulous ambiance. Highly recommended.

Lovely area of small shops and a bus-based bar/brewery taproom. Highly recommend, great beers, nice atmosphere. Wrap up warm as it's quite a chilly wind tunnel when the sun's not out.

Great hidden gem in wood green with over 400 board games set on a London bus. Serves locally brewed beers, ales and stouts.

The board game bus is great - carefully curated game selection, great coffee and soft drinks and a unique cozy vibe. Two minutes walk from Wood Green station, do yourself a favour check it out.

One of my favourite board game cafes which fortunately is right near where we live! I love that the cafe is in an old vintage double decker bus , we visited yesterday and it was just my partner and I and played some cool board games. The owner was super friendly and helpful. The menu has a lot of selection of snacks such as cakes, crisps and amazing gelato from Crouch End and they had karma cola ( love karma drinks). Great place to hang out with friends, go on a date and just chill. Will visit again and again because it's so local. The other shops nearby look pretty interesting too.

Very nice concept - a bus converted to a bar/restaurant with tables. It's hidden away in a quiet area behind a busy road, giving it a feel of being in a relaxing village. The staff were very friendly, greeting us with a friendly smile. The bus has a large selection of beers to choose from.

Great addition to Wood Green. Coffee is excellent, service really good and friendly. Nice selection of craft beer. I've been a few times and always liked it. However, they went up a notch when they offered a discount to rugby league fans on their way to see the London Skolars, great idea, hope they do it again next season.

What a hidden gem! Staff are super friendly and have achieved a really fun and cosy atmosphere. The cakes and coffee are delicious and reasonably priced. Massive selection of board games to choose from and costs just £3 pp to sit and play as many as you like. Would definitely be coming here again! We loved it.

We visited Alexandra Palace and on the way back to Wood Green we came across this terrace on the side of the road with a bus bar parked. They have great selection of beers both craft and bottled, delicious pizza, and nice relaxed environment. We found this cute place on a Sunday, around 7pm, had a drink outside, and then we went to the upper deck on the bus to enjoy a pizza. At 7.20pm we were told we were sitting on the 'stage' where the comedians stand! that's when we found out about the night bus comedy, although there was a sign outside which we saw later 😅 It was great fun, very interactive! At the end of the comedy show they pass a bucket around for a tip, well deserved, they made us laugh all evening, specially the host, Nicole Harris. Recommended
