had fish and chips bank holiday Monday, best we have had in years, the batter was nice and thin and light, chips cooked to perfection, it was so fresh, its been years since had fish and chips so good.very clean and service great, now go back on a weekly trip even though its 20 minute drive to us.tasty. definitely the best in east london
There is a reason why this place is so busy in the evenings - they do excellent Fish & Chips! They are very generous with their portion sizes of both fish and chips and are reasonably priced. Their batter is crisp and full of flavour and the fish is always fried perfectly. The service does not always come with a smile, but damn, that fish tastes good!
This is one of my favourite classic chippies in East London.
The batter is crispy, cod is flakey, the chips are fat, fluffy, and fresh tasting.
Wow! I have had takeout once and sat in today. The Cod & Chips is superb. The fish beautifully moist and succulent, the batter not too heavy and the chips to die for. Highly recommend you visit. Deb Perth, Western Australia x
An amazing chippy, always with excellent service! I have been coming here my entire life and it hasn’t let me down yet. Don’t bother going anywhere else for your fix of classic British fish and chips!
Friendly, speedy & efficient staff.
Excellent quality fish and generous portions of chips.
Good old fashioned chippy with no frills.
I often go here for lunch. Fantastic Cod sold here. This is one of my favourite fish & chips stops. The Cod is crunchie on the outside and not oily. The fish itself has wonderful taste and the chips are yummy too. A must try when you strolling along near Wanstead High Street.
There is indoor seating but also a few spaces outside to enjoy your food in the lovely sunshine. They also sell original fizzy drinks which is soooooo rare these days. I mean, if you want to drink a can of Coke, you want to see that GB sign on it right??? I know I do!!!
If you are for chilli sauce you will get that classic dixy seeded chilli sauce. Which is deadly, but fun when you mix it with some ketchup to tone it down a bit.

The best fish and chips in London hands down. Always a huge queue outside on a Friday. Juicy fish, crispy batter, soft fluffy chips. Huge portions. The taste is just impeccable. The customer service 10/10. My food is always served with a smile.

Just moved to the area. Great food, excellent service and pretty well priced! Will be back
They are a very family friendly East End Fish & Chip shop. I take my children there often. The service is top notch, from a bygone era, where a nice little chat if you're waiting for the chips to fry.
I highly recommend this place, it's much better than my local one which is why when we want chips I go the extra mile and buy from them.
Anyone giving them a one star , is good news as it's one more less in a very long queue of statisfied customers.
I love this wonderful place. Lovely staff and fantastic food. Always have small cod and chips, a Wally and a mug of builder's tea. £14.90. Excellent value. Remember it is cash only, there is a cash point outside!
Good size portions of fish and chips:Cod and Haddock. Freshly cooked fish and chips very nice. Will visit again.
