The food was very delicious and extremely good value for money however the only bad things are that the air con was on so it was quite cold and that the dessert menu is pretty pitiful with only strawberry cheesecake and chocolate cake. Nonetheless I would definitely be returning and recommend this to meat lovers.

Oops. I gottah say, not what I expected. Nope. Not what I expected at all! Umm, it serves more Middle eastern cuisine then African cuisine. I don't know, just personal preference? But not to be disappointed the food served is gorgeous and abundant love it! Totally love it! It also gives of this jungly feeling.. Ha ha just like its name!
Enjoy

Was a lovely meal after watching the fireworks this evening. Reasonably priced. Good portions. Only thing I found abit frustrating was the wait for food. It was at least 20 mins or so. Don't get me wrong, the wait was certainly worth it. And for a weekday to be that busy at 9ish with kids, you could see why. Unique flavours and suited the whole family. Had the t bone and rump and the meat just cut at ease.lamb chops were nice as well as the chicken wings. The coleslaw was just mayonnaise with the typical coleslaw veg in it. So that might be something to improve on.

Good night out but definitely go with an empty stomach to enjoy it wholeheartedly. My mistake was going there when I was almost full from lunch!

After the spat of centrally based mid-class restaurants I've been visiting recently it was nice to spend a Friday night meal in a more local place. Apparently run by South African Gujaratis, Jungle Braai is at its essence just another halal steak house. That said it was better than average, serving up some good meat (as long as you stick to the t-bone) and sides.

Since Wood Street is hardly the most aesthetic of locations we were lucky to get a table in the well lit and spacious back - the place itself was clean enough and service, although slow, was provided with a smile. We were even given an extra two t-bones for a reason we couldn't quite figure out (not that we cared).

Like many other halal steak houses the price was a bit steep - we paid a bit over ten quid a head for food and drink. It's not something to make a habit of visiting then, but for something local and understated it certainly manages to hit the right spot.

Brilliant aspect to this resturant Is one can preorder dine in food so that it is ready at time of arrival, particularly great for Ramdhaan Iftar.

Food was very good and yummy. Price point….it is what it is food does cost a bit but considering everything is homemade it is quiet high in quality. Although service isn’t the best and a bit slow.

Food is amazing. Weve been coming here for two years every month. It’s pricy but worth every penny! The taste cannot be found anywhere else! The meat melts in your mouth and I would definitely recommend coming here for dinner! Fills you up and the customer service is cute! Tables and chairs are sticky though. Deserves a deep clean other than that everything is perfect! So glad we found this place! Obsessed!

One of my favourite steak places. Been coming here for years and the steak is pretty much the same. The brothers will let you pray there if you need to.

I generally don't enjoy meat very much, and can still admit this place has the nicest meat platters I've had in a long time. The chips come in quite small portions but you can pick between skinny and fat ones which is nice. We didn't eat the prawn and I wasn't a fan of the buffalo wings, although the steak and other wings and ribs were perfect. The price is what you would expect- it's a treat rather than a place for lunch, but they only take cash which made it a bit difficult. The mocktails and milkshakes are lovely too. The toilets are okay in terms of cleanliness and the décor is interesting (wildlife). It isn't the cleanest place I've been but nor is it the dirtiest. The décor could do with some dusting in general. It is a bit dark in there even during the daytime, but overall it's not unpleasant. The service overall is wanting, however. I've been there and eaten in twice. First time (a Sunday afternoon), the waiter had excellent customer service but the man on the counter didn't have any at all or know how to smile (neither had much English which didn't interfere much). The second time (Sunday lunchtime), the waiter was the most miserable person I've seen in a while. He seemed annoyed by our coming and almost flung each dish onto the table. Then started clearing up while we were still eating. It was a fairly big (expensive) order so I guess it wasn't that he was unhappy about. Anyway, if they invested in smile training, and in light of the food, I'd give Jungle Braai a 5 otherwise.

Nice food, service was fine but we didn't have enough spoons and forks for the people at the table. We were given 1 cup less per person at the table also.

We came round here as it's our last time eating out before the 2nd lockdown. Best menu I've seen in a while and the food did not disappoint service was good and food came quick. Place is not that big but you could get 6 adults on each table. There is parking after 6.30 on side street first left or right before/after restaurant. Toilets are clean and social distancing quite easy. Deff recommend this place. Will be back again.

Outstanding food!! Didn't really have any expectations before going in but was very pleasantly surprised. Not normally a salad person but I would definitely recommend their jungle salad 👌 had the platter for 3. They were all very very nice. Definitely recommend!!!

I have visited Jungle Braai multiple times over the past decade. The restaurant has recently undergone a renovation and standards have improved slightly compared to what I had been used to. Overall the quality of food is high, the selection of meats and the accompanying sauces are tasty. We also ordered the vegetarian option, which was a veggie burger and surprisingly it was very tasty, as usually outlets that primarily focus on meats tend to have vegetarian options of a poorer quality. The ambience is cosy and warm, however the air con was on, like another reviewer previously mentioned and we did feel a bit chilly, and although we did mention it to the waiter, I don't think anything was done. Despite this, the customer service is generally excellent, we were made aware in advance that our order would take long and were provided with complimentary pitta and hoummous dip to soften the wait. We paid around £90 for four 11 ounce steaks, two burgers, six sides and five drinks and we all felt it represented good value for money based on portion sizes and quality/quantity of food ordered. I think this is a definitely a place for foodies to visit and try out!
