🚇 Surrey Quays 🍺 £3.82 San Miguel ❤️ A standard spoons community boozer. . The Surrey Docks pub is located on a busy junction near Surrey Quays in Rotherhithe. The nearest station is Surrey Quays Overground which is just across the road. . This Wetherspoon’s was built in 1997 and is named after the Surrey Commercial Docks, which were located here from 1807 to 1970. . This is a large low ceilinged pub, there is a “U” shaped bar with a big enough servery slap bang in the middle. All the Wetherspoon’s hallmarks are evident here, a trippy carpet, dark wood panelling and lots of historical facts on the prints around the walls. Out front is a big outside space with plenty of benches for the warmer months. . The beer line up was full of familiar keg favourites plus a good selection of eight cask ales. I had a pint of San Miguel which was decent but I always find it a little gassy. As with all Spoons, price point was cheap at £3.82 which is great. The food like the beer is cheap, as usual there is loads of food options to choose from. . I arrived just after midday on a Saturday lunchtime and the pub was busy inside and out. The service wasn’t great, the chap serving me was more interested in the banter going on behind the bar. There was a nice upbeat atmosphere with a good mix of punters from all age groups. I had a group of old boys sat next to me who were putting the world to rights, next to them, there were a group of six lads who were gearing up for a day on the sauce. One thing I love about Spoons pubs is the diversity of people you get in rather than a niche clique. . I can’t really say much different from most other Wetherspoons I have visited. The one thing I will say is that the local community were well represented here, I love the fact the older generation can afford to drink here and catch up with their pals for a chinwag and social interaction. For that Wetherspoons should be applauded. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 22.4.23

A spoons that actually makes you queue to get served at the bar. Quite a deceptive pub, looks massive from the outside, but quite small inside, big outside garden area so you can take in the sights and sounds of Surrey Quay. I really weren't keen on the queue to get served so I just ordered on the app, very quick service considering how busy it was

The cheapest place in town, I got a beer for ÂŁ1.49.... yes, ÂŁ1.49! A round for 4 people was under ÂŁ10. Up the road, the same round was ÂŁ29! Okay, the views aren't great but the pub is to the usual wetherspoons standards and service is excellent đź‘Ś

Local pub to pop down for cheap drinks and food. Much cleaner and good atmosphere compared to the Fox on the hill branch. They were sweeping rugs at the entrance and cleaning the garden to the front of leaves and cigarettes. Service was good and with a smile. Commented to the staff sweeping up and the reply was they have pride in how the pub looks.

My first visit to The Surrey Docks. The pub was busy but well-maintained. The staff were friendly and attentive and the real ales that I tried (3) were in top condition. The member of bar staff saw that I was using a crutch for mobility and offered to take my drinks to my table. The pub isn’t local to me but I will make a point of visiting again.

Always crowded perhaps confirms that the joint is famous. Serves proper grub when it comes to wrapping the drinks. App-based ordering and package drinks+meal makes a good choice to economically calling it a day with friends.

Usual Wspoons nosh but well made and served. Ales in top Nick and a just a few pence over 2 quid a pint. Staff very efficient and kept tables clean even when very busy. Local good folk, made this visitor welcome. A proper pub in a proper bit of Sowf Lunden.

Standard Wetherspoons fare. Had a pint of Guinness (average) and hunters chicken (pretty good). Would pop in again if I was local.

Great drink prices. Pint prices as low as ÂŁ1.89. I tried a pint of Leffes for ÂŁ3.89 which was a refreshing and unique tasting beer. The steak I got was tasty. The pub ambient is nice.
