The Black Cat is a great pub, friendly bar-staff, there are always a few locals in the pub when I go in for a pint [ between 10 am - 3 in the afternoon ]. You can sit down and read your paper in peace without being annoyed by pests, there is always background music from a radio station with the songs not being played too loud but loud enough to hear and enjoy.
Plus the beer is always good :)
Food is absolutely AMAZING to die for! Proper home cooking Portions are more than generous, gotta say the dessert beat me - eyes bigger than my belly springs to mind!
Great service, great atmosphere an overall amazing experience
Friendly pub..good entertainment on the 24/09/2016.. Friendly bar staff..beer prices cheap
Great pub. Good music. Lovely staff. Changing the music to be more inclusive.
Great live music venue, friendly and welcoming staff. Really enjoyed our visit
It's a very friendly pub and the band we're also very good. People danced and were happy.
a great place to be the staff are very welcoming and friendly great service from start to finish
Pub is looking good following a facelift. Good staff, good atmosphere and great food. Recommend.
Had a very delicious Sunday lunch recently including lots of fresh veg, yum yum!
Great bar, friendly bar staff. Great event nights
Can be quiet now and then in the week, but not on a Saturday night. Saturday night is live music night, and the bands range from good to excellent. Search for The Black Cat on Lemonrock dot com for band listings.
Lovely bar staff and very good and kind management x
A decent pub in Catford town centre which has darts, pool and plenty of sport on the telly.
Beer selection was quite straightforward and well priced too. Was quiet in the early afternoon and then got busier as the afternoon wore on with all sorts characters coming in.
You can’t knock the pub for value that’s for sure. There’s also a jukebox in case you want to stick some tunes on.
Was there for a sixyth birthday. Had a great time. Staff were very friendly and always remembered what you were drinking.
Struggled to find a place in southeast London showing the NLD....go figure. Much bigger, lighter and airier than I thought. Pretty basic.
Nice cheap pub friendly staff
It's a pub that serves the local community. Walk in and have a drink.
A proper old boozer, all the things you could want, no craft nonsense just cheap pints pub games etc, music some nights. If you’re bored of trying to be cool and just want to have a good time this is the place to go.
Nice little local pub, good music, friendly staff, was very quiet during the day. Pints are nice at a decent price. Will be popping in again
Still has the feel of a traditional pub
Nice place to chill out and watch some sport
An undiscovered big pub despite the small frontage with great staff, good punters, and Sky Sports with many screens. Well worth a visit.
I probably go here once every two months, or less. And it's definitely an acquired taste. But it does what it does extremely well - it's like pubs used to be. Don't be put off by the lack of windows and go see a proper locals pub. Bonus - it's really cheap compared to the competition!
Very nice friendly pub, large and clean not expensive drinks either
Great live music nights. Friendly atmosphere. The newly opened kitchen is well worth a try. Proper food which hasn't been microwaved from frozen.
Tucked away by Catford shopping centre, just off the Broadway. The entrance way always has a crowd of smokers that merges with the people who stand around in the street, which can be slightly confusing. But don't be put off! As you walk through the entrance the blurry cctv footage of yourself entering reassures you that the actions of patrons could be scrutinised by the police later if they don't behave themselves. It's big and often quite empty. The tables are spaced quite far apart. However, they are clean, shiny, and quite ornate. The carpet is also reasonably good quality, and covers the whole floor area. It used to get the council workers, but they have moved to the Constitutional. The average age of current clients is probably about 45. If you want somewhere where you can get served pretty standard lager very quickly, and then sit in a dark corner and not get noticed, then this is a good place. There is a pool table. It livens up a lot when there is live music on, which is usually loud rock.
We had lunch today... Real Authentic Barbados Cuisine... Delicious and full of flavour... Beautiful cooked Seabass and Salad and a wicked hot pepper sauce lovingly made from by resident Chef Shaun Walcott... I wish her every success in a food operation, there are not many Barbados restaurants in local area... Shaun has definitely brought the beautiful Island to South East London... Black Cat does amazing pint of Guinness and Caters for a very culturally diverse community... Its a real community Hub, full of Character and Charm... Lee Anthony and Theresa Clarke
