We were super hungry when we got here and were lucky to be seated straight away on a Friday evening. We shared the chicken wings and a noodle salad and left completely stuffed! The salad bowls are massive and are really lovely and fresh and the chicken was by far one of the best wings I’ve had. Definitely would return.

Salvation in Noodles might not have the shiniest service, but it’s a fully acceptable hipster Vietnamese option. Finsbury Park doesn’t have the most numerous eating options, so it’s a fair choice for when you need it. For me, Salvation in Noodles (also self-referential as SIN), is a handy backup for the likes of Dotori, and when I need something that’s slightly less shameful than Eden’s Cottage. I do love the place though.

Went in one day and wasn't greeted properly by the lady staff eventhough I was just standing right in front of her, so I asked if I can just sit anywhere? She didn't even look at me and replied' yeah anywhere, here or the bar is fine' but obviously it was only 12pm who would sit at the bar lol. But I was quickly served by a gentleman called Sam who did great job with his customer service. So when I was having the noodles, that lady was speaking quite loud in the shop too, I mean probably not entirely her fault as it wasn't a big shop, it's just not the atmosphere I expected there. Right, for the pho that I ordered, I had the chicken pho but it wasn't great, I won't say it's bad either, it's really so so as the noodles were not the soft noodles I thought it would be, also the broth not as flavourful. But one thing I have to praise for the broth is that I didn't feel that thirsty like I normally do with other Vietnamese foods. So less MSG I guess? Hence, the rating of 3.5.

You would need to present a fairly compelling argument to get me to trek across London for dinner…but Salvation in Noodles manages to give me just that by offering up the best Vietnamese food I have had in this city to date.

The summer rolls are pretty standard fare and I could give or take the dumplings…but the banh xeo is an absolute winner. And whilst the Phu Quoc wings seem to get all the publicised glory (and upon tasting them, it is very easy to see why), it is the absolutely delicious turmeric-tinged mi quang with pork belly that has me coming back for more. And more. For this alone, the trip is worth it.

Atmosphere is buzzy and there are often queues, so my one tip…get there early!

When my friend posted a pic of a hot bowl of steamy noodles on instagram, I was dying to get my lips around those noodles and go in for the slurp! . Salvation In Noodles in Finsbury Park was the place we went to and don't you just love it when a foodie friend of yours recommends a place to you?? It's a sure guarantee that it will be good! I was expecting a gold medal and what I got was a world record! If you've never tried Vietnamese food before, look no further! For a place with top quality Vietnamese food, this place will have you hooked!

Delicious authentic Vietnamese food in London, with the flavours reminding me of home. It hasn't been easy finding real Vietnamese food in London, with the most family run establishments concentrated in Hoxton. Those based around Soho have been poor at best in my opinion, due to lack of authenticity (both on the menu and clearly in the food) and small portions. The presentation at SIN is fantastic- just have a look at their Instagram following! Based on the Vietnamese places I've tried around London, usually with style taste is compromised. I had high expectations for SIN, and am glad that they were met. SIN did not disappoint. The portion sizes were great, with comparable prices to a typical meal in London. I recommend the goi ngo sen (with pork) and bun bo Hue. The only constructive criticism I can give is for the wait staff to have more professional attire. Other than that I will definitely be returning :)

After my second trip to Vietnam last year - the arrival of SIN in Finsbury Park was a dream come true.

Its a rather small restaurant, with a few booth and a long communal table, simple but nice décor and an open kitchen. The bar is situated in the middle of the restaurants and makes a great place for waiting when ordering takeaway. Especially the service at the bar was outstanding! Even though it was busy, they took the time and explained the different cocktails, etc to me.

The Phu quoc wings are to die for, as well as the Vietnamese pork spring rolls and Pho. The food never disappoints and brings back the memories of the wonderful times I had in Vietnam. Its definitely one of my favourite places when it comes to Pho.

The Finsbury Park branch is the second of SINs with the original SIN housed in Dalston (that was rather enjoyable to type). It's tiny, a 30-seater at most but it's quick to feed and has a decent vibe.

I've had a very enjoyable meal at SiN and I don't even think I've had the best things on the menu yet (although those phu quoc wings are absolutely gorgeous) - and if that's the case then I'm excited to have more. I've already got my eyes on the bun rieu, goi ga, and the Vietnamese dumplings for the next visit.

2015 has been a pretty amazing year. It has been emotional.

I changed careers paths, made new friends and got a little more rounder by the end of the year than I started ahah but hey ho there's nothing wrong with a little more boootaaay!

Aaand there is no better way to reminisce about life and make plans for the future than with a large steamy bowl of pho.

Whilst I embark on the road to tone my 6-pack of jelly-rolls and get back a more stream-lined form.

A visit to Salvation In Noodles was a necessity.

Vietnamese food is known to be one of the healthiest cuisines in the world after all.

Uhhhhh what do you mean I shouldn't order deep-fried chicken wings?!

Especially when they look like THIS.

It would be rude not to.

These moist and succulent wings were armoured in a crispy, sticky salty sweet casing that was so more-ish you will start chopstick fights just to get your hands on the last one.

Mark my words, friendships were lost over fighting for these babies.

So, it would be probably advisable to order an extra portion. They are dangerous.

We also ordered taro fries, Vietnamese spring rolls & dumplings on the side.

What did I say were my New Year's Resolutions? ...let's just eat today and REGRET NOTHING.

I was half expecting the taro fries to be rather chalky, but don't be fooled by their unassuming appearance. They were extra-crunchy yet soft slices of joy.

The pork to vegetable and vermicelli ratio for these spring rolls were PERFECT.

Next up we lined up our pho.

It was time to get slurping'

I went for the Bun Ho Hue - Rare steak & Pork Belly in a hot and spicy Lemongrass soup £9.80.

What was placed before me was this magnificent bowl of steamy noodles, in the most flavoursome broth with al-dente rice noodles AND melt-in-your-mouth tender pork and steak.

You know you want to. Shimmy that booty on to SIN for these heavenly bowls of pho.

YUMMEI's 8.5/10
It was a short and steamy affair as I hungrily slurped down this beauty ;]

Fantastic starters. Highly recommend the grilled lamb chops and deep fried chicken wings. Juicy and succulent and sinfully delicious. Noodles are amazing too. Flavourful broth, soft yet stringy noodles, and out-of-this-world pork bellies. Will definitely return.

Sat at home, eating whatever was left in the fridge got me thinking. What shall I eat? Thinking about this and watching The Food Network together made me very hungry. Eggs and Potatoes for dinner, just is not good enough. So I needed to set myself a challenge. So here goes the plan. Every week, I will cook a dish from a different country. So from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, here it goes. I have decided to tackle this alphabetically. I have looked at a few lists, and one says there are 195 countries, the others say 240 or 251. I will look towards 200+ and see how it goes.Week 1: Afghanistan.Thankfully after some searching and friends input via social media i chose the national dish of Afghanistan. I was happy with the dish and country as it is quite similar to Iranian cooking. The dish was the Afghani Pilau, or Kabuli Pilau, after the capital of the country.

After the success of its first restaurant in Dalston, Salvation in Noodles opened a second branch in Finsbury Park. Why is this noteworthy?Because it is close to where I live- BOOM. Summer Spring Rolls - Pork and Prawns. Vietnamese food to me is all about fresh, zesty flavours. Add a little fish sauce here and there and you are back in South East Asia sitting with the locals eating and sharing the quality food they have.

Welcome addition to Finsbury Park. Taste and felt like being in Vietnam again and having street food. Tasty and spicy rounded off with the fresh mint.

In the summer of 2014, I took a trip to Vietnam which was nothing short of amazing. The beautiful landscape, warm culture and rich history really gripped me as I found myself falling for the country and its people. But what really sealed the deal above all else was the cuisine; so perfectly understated, the simplicity of its presentation masks the vast intricacy of individual components which together form the dish. I had always liked Vietnamese food but now, I was hooked. A couple weeks later, I found myself firmly back in the UK, bringing back with me a palate for Vietnamese.

Luckily for me and Londoners as a whole, finding Vietnamese food in London is not difficult; a casual stroll down Kingsland Rd does more than enough to make that point blatantly clear with shop after shop after shop wafting sweet scents of fish sauce, mint and lime temptation; and though each I am sure is very good, there can only be one which is "the best". For me, that distinction firmly belongs to Salvation in Noodles (SIN).

Headed by the charismatic Colin and driven by his passion for his heritage, SIN pays homage to the traditional methods of preparing Vietnamese food, treating it with the respect it needs and deserves but with a twist; what you'll find here isn't just Vietnamese - it's Vietnamese with the volume turned up to full.

The reasons why are numerous but personally, it all starts with the broth which forms the base of my favoured noodle soups. Rich, thick and vibrant, there are no shortcuts at SIN as each batch is carefully reduced from real ingredients and represents a true labour of love.

This fact shines during our mains of chicken bun bo hue and mi quang where toppings of chicken and rice noodles (in the bun bo hue) and pork belly, shrimps and rice noodles (in the mi quang) played second-fiddle to a moreish lemongrass soup. But to ignore the mi quang's pork belly would be a crime; soft as a pillow and bursting with flavour, it is a template on how to braise meat and I would be happy eating a plate of this alone. As it is, it forms part of a formidable dish and one I recommend as a can't miss.

All this talk of mains though should in no way be seen as a disrespect to the starters which are a highlight in themselves. Orders of the Vietnamese pork dumplings and goo ngo sen pork belly salad more than held their own though if you order the salad, prepare yourself to endure some serious heat (though this is nothing a Vietnamese iced coffee won't fix). However, you can't come to SIN and not get their signature phu quoc wings; fried chicken wings of the highest quality drizzled in the most delicious fish sauce syrup and topped with crispy garlic. The order should be automatic as to miss these is sadistic.

It terms of cost, you do pay a slight premium relative to the Kingsland Road joints however, you do so for a superior product. Now located in two locations (Dalston and Finsbury Park), there is now less and less reason for you not to pay a visit. Make this your next night out.

Late night visit here yesterday and it definitely didn’t disappoint, very good food and simple QR order process. And added bonus was the music which really topped off my visit here nicely.

Good casual spot for a bite to eat. The salads are fresh and tasty. The pho is good but the broth is too light, I think they use chicken broth rather than beef broth. The chicken wings are great and always a winner. Service is always good. It can get busy and hard to find a seat even on the shared tables.

Great noodle soup. If you want to drink alcohol, it is bring your own bottle with a £2.50 corkage fee per person; we didn’t realise this until after we had sat down.

Had a takeaway last night (for my birthday) from here for the first time and was very impressed. Tasted fresh and clean and the fried chicken wings were really tasty and succulent without being at all greasy. Will definitely order from here again and look forward to trying out the restaurant when it reopens.

Really enjoyed the takeaway (by Deliveroo) tonight. Boyfriend had the wings and spicy beef noodle soup. The soup came in a separate tub and we were amazed that the soup was extremely hot on arrival. I had the tofu salad and was impressed by it. The tofu was crispy and had lots of flavour. It didn’t come with fish sauce as I had expected but instead a sweet one, which was good. We would order from here again.

What a great little place. We went there yesterday and I'm still full. The portions are great if you're greedy like me!! I had one of the spicy noodle soups and it was nice and hot, caused me a lot of sweating, but it was great. Works out around £15 a head for a starter and a main if you bring you're own beer or wine. The waitress was really nice too. Check it out.

Visited this weekend with a friend. The food was fantastic. So fresh and full of amazing flavour. I had the dumplings and salad. Both blew my mind! Loved every mouthful. 100% will go again and again! Service prompt and friendly

Salvation indeed! My friend and I were starving and looking for some decent grub when we found this place and what a great find! The broth for the pho ga was superb - flavourful and well-balanced. We also had the chicken spring rolls to start which really hit the spot with its texture and flavour. The place is also BYOB which we didn't take advantage of on this occassion but is a good thing to note for next time. It has a very friendly, laidback atmosphere and the service was great. I'm planning on coming back and eating my way through the menu. Strongly recommend!
