Went for lunch very good deal on 3 courses. Also dog friendly which is great when you've been walking in a cold oxleas wood.

Lovely family-friendly pub with reasonably priced food, nice beer and excellent decor. Has certainly changed since it was done up recently! Great service at the bar. Well done Red Lion - you'll be seeing more of us!

Excellent food. It was my husbands birthday lunch. He got a lovely chocolate cake and a free drink!!! I had the seabass in Thai sauce. Yummy. We will definitely be going back.

Just a decent traditional British pub. It's clean and the staff and locals seem friendly enough.

Current photos do not represent this fantastic Pub. Front and back Gardens have had full makeover. Covered seating at the front. Loads of seating in the back garden with bbq. Live sports. Always a fantastic atmosphere.

The picture associated with this pub is a bit old. The garden area has been fully revamped and is now a lovely garden space with decking and level tables to sit at. Next time I visit, I will take a picture and post it on here so you can see. The staff are polite and friendly and they sell a good range of wines and beers. The pub was not too busy last time I visited and I got a table easily. They also sell good food but you have to pay for that seperately as the food part is run by a different team. All in all, we'll worth a visit.

Met friends here today for New Year Day's lunch for first time. Immediately impressed with friendliness of customers and staff. Loved the atmosphere and had a good lunch. The pub was full and happy but only one thing spoiled it for us...we couldn't chat..the music was blasting. Could understand of an evening but lunch time...we would have had coffee but left.

It's a pub! Warm welcome , good service. Reasonable prices. Now the food; best onion beagles ever. Garlic mushrooms to die for, excellent beef stew, fabulous chicken madras. All crowned with a lovely Eton Mess. All under Β£50. Thanks to all the staff, especially the chef. We will be back.

Great food and lovely atmosphere, so relaxed. They cater for gluten intolerance and even made my chips and halloumi fries in fresh oil for me. Absolutely lovely time can't wait to come back

Had Sunday Lunch here 6th November, staff always very welcoming and friendly. Nice feel to pub, topical sport on TV’s all round pub. We had the chicken roast and it was superb, none of your frozen stuff, all fresh and plenty of it.

In for a swiftly Saturday night. Good vibe. Chatty, noises and relaxed. 2 ladies behind the bar friendly, helpful and efficient. Guinness a little colder than I would prefer but I can’t call that a complaint. Good stuff. Will return.

Having had a lovely walk in Oxleas Wood, a pint and a roast would have been awesome. Note that you need to book if you want a Sunday roast here....... it was very busy! The pub had a very nice feel though so settled for a nice and well priced pint.

Came straight after moving in to my new flat around the corner. Exhausted and hungry, we arrived at a busy pub thinking we wouldn't get a table. The landlady was incredibly welcoming and found us a table. Sunday roast was good and filling, great prices, live music and a very warm welcome. Also to my surprise they had gluten free gravy, which was the icing on the cake. We will definitely be back.
