Living round the corner, I come here a lot for the pizzas, which are well-flavoured, with a good thin crust. The atmosphere is friendly, and children catered for. Quiz and classic album nights, and a room for hire. The Hanbury's a great community pub

Ah, the Hanbury Quiz Night, where history, science, geography, and pop culture get thrown out the window in favor of the truly essential topic: the British Royal Family. By round three, I was half-expecting the Queen herself to walk in and join a team. While some quizzes challenge the breadth of one's knowledge, this one ensures you're up to date with your "Royal Digest". Who knew there were so many ways to ask, "Which royal wore what and where?" If you're looking to test your knowledge on literally anything else, this might not be the quiz for you. But if you've memorized the family tree dating back to William the Conqueror, you're in for a right royal treat! Cheers to pete for reminding us what truly matters.

Hanbury is an enjoyable pub with a good selection of beer and local food. We had fish and chips with one pint. The food tasted good, it wasn't soggy or full of oil which is good. The flaky sea salt top on that fish was a nice addition. This pub is in a quiet place.

We absolutely loved our Sunday roast here! Great food. Decently priced as well. The fries were so good! We tried the sticky toffee pudding and it was UNBELIEVABLE! Highly recommend. They have indoor and outdoor seating as well. They have the sports games on as well; and the cricket was on while we were there. Thanks for a great meal!

The Hanbury in Hoxton is a proper gem of a pub. The staff are wonderful. The beer is great, plenty of cask and keg. Big screens showing sport. There is also a superb selection of literary cameos around the place. I love this pub. There is also a wonderful menu to satiate your hunger. Super!!!

Really nice pub, came across it by chance while walking along the canal and looked for a nearby pub. Friendly bar staff, show sport, I didn't eat but food looked good. Highly recommend!

So came in on a whim finished a long days work, thinking I would come in for one drink before I head off home but I was wrong. I was greeted by the lovely Millie her smile and personality is amazing i didn’t need to even move from my seat, the table service was incredible I wasn’t that hungry so I ordered some chips to nibble on. However the menu is really good wish I was hungry. The Guinness is top notch here.

What a special place. I know the owner just bought the pub right before COVID and wow they’ve done an amazing job. Excellent location on a quiet street. Top notch drinks and wonderful food - the spicy bean burger was a favourite ! Service was really friendly and bummed we miss the quiz night but keen to come back

Absolutely loved this place - the atmosphere is perfect for watching football at an English pub, they distill their own gin! and the staff couldn’t be nicer. The kitchen had stopped serving when we arrived, but it’s only a matter of time ‘til we try their delicious-looking Sunday roast

My first time back after the new management took over and it was absolutely splendid. My cousins were passing through London for the day and wanted to sample some gins. The staff were really sweet and helpful. The screens were showing F1 (Belgian GP, I think) and what we worked out was the GAA grand final, which we enjoyed trying to work out the rules. Ordered a starter to share and it was good. There’s a lovely little alcove for two nestled in the corner amongst books. Would defo go back for a date just to sit there.

Was here for the pub quiz on Thursday night. The food and beer was perfect. And the atmosphere was spot on. Not too loud, not too soft. Not too many people, not too less!

The Hanbury is the kind of place that feels like a second home. It's a local favourite for a reason - the food is fantastic, the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, and they show sports which is always a bonus. Speaking of sports, if you're planning on watching the rugby, be sure to book a table in advance - this place can get busy when the rugby is on. But trust me, it's worth it. The excitement and energy in the air is palpable. They also have live music on Saturdays, and it's always a blast. The singer always knows how to get the crowd going, creating a lively and fun atmosphere, it's always a fun night out. They have a fantastic food menu, from classic pub grub to more upscale dishes, everything on the menu is delicious and expertly prepared. It's the perfect place to grab a bite with friends or to enjoy a relaxing meal with family. So if you're looking for a nice pub in Islington with excellent food & great atmosphere The Hanbury is definitely worth a visit, dogs are always more than welcome too.

Lovely pub. Great staff, going the extra mile to help with an inquiry or issue. Screens for football, cricket, tennis etc. Fun pub quiz every Thursday always interesting but gets really busy so worth booking in advance. And to top it all off, just found out they distill their own gin, which I may be purchasing sometime between now and Christmas! Update I bought the gin and it is magnificent. I also watched England games here during the world Cup and the burgers were brilliant.
