The Widow's Son - London - Photo album

Not open until 3pm during week so don't go thinking normal pub opening hours, quaint little pub right next to Devons Road Station. Was very quiet when I popped in, not sure if usually like this, but had good music playing, no Guinness on tap when I visited so just had a bottle, not too pricey, frie
So I don't really want to review the Widow because I want you to come because it's great and I don't want to share it! The food is great, the staff friendly, drinks will price and the resident dog Oscar makes the plane feel like a home from home. We had the Sunday roast (meat and veggie). Both were
Wow, this place has changed a lot. From a shabby old man pub, fruit machines etc, to a cool cocktail bar. I had the beetroot and chilli margarita. I'd also recommend the T Rex. A breath of fresh air for the area.
Local place. Owners are actively trying to improve it. It's pretty good as a local hangout already. Chill. Live music. Trivia. Standard selection of beers. What's not to like.
Lovely wee pub with East London atmosphere proper. Lovely legend about the widow keeping one hot cross bun every Easter for her sun who never came back from the sea is being kept alive by the locals to this day (so I heard). Live music and affordable cocktails seal the deal😎
We had a wonderful meal the burger and chicken wraps were amazing I can highly recommend them. Kitchen chef Semi was exceptional . Kay was very welcoming and a perfect host. Will definitely come back had a wonderful meal in a lovely environment.
Lovely place. Nice service and decent food. The food was definitely slow coming out, but what's the rush? Support these guys. They have great live music as well.
Staff are always helpful, friendly & never rude. The manager kay is one of the best managers I have ever met so helpful and treats customers like a family member. They all have a passion for there jobs and responsibilities. Will definitely be coming more often 👍🏻❤️
Love this place. Went in for a quick pint while I was waiting for the other half and I'm glad I did. Doesn't look much from the outside but the atmosphere, decor and range of drinks are all great. The staff are so friendly and attentive, which unfortunately isn't always the case in East London. Well
Love this place. Loads of character, really friend and accommodating staff and Fab atmosphere. We went for the quiz last week which was great fun. Have also seen live comedy there which was hit and miss but entertaining none the less and good to see a local pub supporting comedians who are just star
Great place. The food here is extremely well priced and delicious. It's nice and quiet so you can actually have a conversation (as opposed to loud music playing). There is a friendly resident dog who will welcome you too. The service here is personal and customers are valued. Looking forward to mak
Fantastic local pub, welcoming & friendly - great drinks selection too! Amazing pub quiz on Tuesdays, always a fun night. Definitely drop in for a visit!
A pub close to me, haven’t been in months and clearly under new management. New furniture and a paint job, a much nicer environment than before. Excited to have a new local and excited for things to come
Excellent food! Fun beer selection. And Oscar is a wonderful doggo! Highly recommend.
Without any doubt, the best pub in Bow area!. We use to go at least once a week and the ambient is so charming. The staff is really friendly and the food is awesome (I strongly recommend the burgers). Oh, and Oscar is the cuttest thing ever! Go there and have the chance to meet him :))
It’s a nice and recently renovated pub , the food was outstanding. The seafood selection is pretty good too for a pub. I’ve been there 3 months ago aswell, the craft beers and the drink selection is still great ,but massive improvement on food , apparently they have a new chef . the staff is always
Had no idea this place was so close to home. Kinda feels like it's temporary, but the drinks are reasonably priced and there's a beer garden!
I was staying in this area with work colleagues, while on business, at the Excel conference centre and decided to try them for after work beers and dinner. We had no idea what the food would be like. What a surprise! The food was great! We had a mix from the menu; pie and mash, pulled pork sandwic
A nice, small, slightly hipster pub. The outdoor seating is some very basic tables out the front which look into a built up courtyard for new-build flats.
